nice work Mike, great bass, the percs are great too it would certainly work as an action score for a gumshoe movie/tv show, yes its a little short piece but it works for me, your wacky and wonderful style that nobody else seems to match
cheers Paul! i was pretty chuffed at how compact this turned out — it felt like all of side one when i was mixing it. haha just playing that bass over and over i laughed at the length. good to see you amigo
Coulda been the theme music for Beverly Hills Cop or something! Great little trippy snippet. That bass goes to the soles of my feet, it's insane in my head phones. I'd like to hear more...Bobo.
jesus now you just reinfected me with that faltermier genius ##### song. after lotsa noodling i thought the bass sat pretty nicely, glad it reached your soles.
starts with swarming sounds and another square wheel of a beat and then moves to a gorgeous and sweet reprise with a swinging beat - different and very nice
Don't remember hearing a track from u in this genre. I like the 70s style vibe goin. Bass my favorite! Cool percussion! Jazzy flavor the melt down and the end was funny
hey man here’s the story. john d is a square who needs $17M like yesterday. his punk neighbor cons him into financing a $24M coke deal and gets him talking this ##### on camera. the punk turns snitch and sells the video to the FBI. at john d’s trial the snitch is shown to be such a chump the FBI gets embarrassed and d is acquitted but never gets his $17M and winds up fixing clocks.
captivating work again bro i feel like im sunbathing in the African savannah, them damb flies, ahh thats better, the music is my sun protector and insect repellent :)) always something different too bro keep on keeping on
ian man thanks for giving a listen to these tracks. it’s been a difficult year and i entered some pretty altered states. i think something approaching half of any free time i had i spent mining freesound and just free-associating w them. the teetering was actual, so don’t try that at home!
fun fact: the little uh-uh-uh voice in part 2 and that’s heard at the end is an emperor penguin.
hope your holidays have been peaceful and sustaining for the year to come.
i’d been playing around w the intro sounds for a while before the vox magically fell into place and steered things in a hiphop direction. i heightened the already somewhat occluded vox, i like having to guess at lots of the words
great - love the she wants revenge track too - bit of post punk indie : ) yours is much more dreamy initially and then as wayne said theres something of a little homage or perhaps its just a signpost to mid 90's (in the final beats).
well i just went with what sounded yacht-worthy to me and added a bit of hangover spin on that. but the 90s sound speaks to my predilections, obviously! cheers, ian!
Enchanting intro with nice space and stereo spread with no hint of the wormhole that is about to open and take us to another dimension - once there it was calm for a moment and then the rhythm came and I wanted to hear where we were going to go next - it sounded like something I wanted to have more of. Always a wonderful journey for the ears mate - Im looking forward to hearing the other ones Ive missed. OH OH OH
love that intro what a good builder then straight into your face with that rage, it wants to crush ya. its got a scary atmospheric feel of being locked in or chasing against time, would make a good opening for an escape show, nice little piece Mr Stokes
Cool intro into the beat, it clarifies to some mystical, almost spiritual beat. I've got to say, you can transition with the best of them, some neat and interesting musical vignettes all sewn together quite exquisitely.
Hi Michael.
Well put together again.
I really like that part after 0:58.
and that part at 1:36 also very beautiful and subtle.
And then all hell breaks loose and then comes the scary part.
Equipped with absolutely everything.
well this illustrates my mood swings, i guess! i was furious but working it out, you know?
haha, wouldn’t it be something to be equipped with everything? that’s too much for me!
Aptly titled and described. Beautiful with some great seamless transitions. Did you ever see the movie Touching the Void? Worth a watch, though the book is better.
hey there Chris! i saw the movie in the hazy vhs years, some images remain and i always coveted the title. glad you brought that up, i’ll watch for the book in my used shops.
BaoBou was a catalyst in getting to the mix you heard, he had me reimagining the first half with his gtr added, it learned me something i hope! cheers, brother!
big word i know well, im always searching to be the real me. new big job i started 6 weeks ago has taken my time recently so not opened my DAW just listens and comments. again another creative journey beautiful opening fire drum track and percs, gritty distortion on that guitar 1.45, lovely transition into the end section eerie and dark with a great female ad-lib fantastic bro xx
Paul, hope you’ve landed a satisfying gig, mate. 10 yrs ago i was so alcoholic i couldn’t hold a job anymore — i never been fired, just walked off cuz i was in thrall to the whiskey. the ##### thing is i was finally doing work i liked even when i didnt feel so good about my employers. since i started workin again it’s been kid stuff, i miss being really engaged. so anyways that’s what i’m wishing for you man, is finding a living that makes you feel alive challenged and bold. thanks for the visit, mate!
no i haven't surfed mate, i have done a little body boarding, that was fun, use to do some mirror sailing single skull when i was at college that was good too. i love the sea, i was born 15 mins from the coast and worked the holiday camps when i was a youth as you know, all on the coast, ##### im i doing livin in the city i'll never know and of course another listen while i write :))
Better and better. I love that you inspired me and I inspired you - in very different ways but still creative.
Sent you a link, let me know if you want the stems!
Very exciting track - and you inspired me. I'm sure you won't recognise it when (if) I post it later, but I jammed a bit to the start of your track and I'll have to record that.
The second half with the eerie female vocal is very good!!
Yep I'm among the battiest of the batshit, lol. I signed with a label last week, tho, and I'm getting a huge boost with advertising and graphics, stuff like that. I'm looking for some vocalists and some cross over Collabs (that might possibly be on a major release, if it's high level) Hit me up if ur interested or have some ideas, man. -Aaron
hey man i hope the best for you on that venture, that’s dream of a lifetime stuff for lotsa people. i’m now one of those who wants to stay informed man.
i would love to do more vocal/spoken stuff in the new year. aleksandr’s my hero in that respect and you know all that.

Im encouraged to be a little more ambitiously crazy when I listen to what you do and how it comes together teetering on the edge of the abyss
