One doesn't see tracks of this style posted on LM too terribly often. 60's era garage kind of vibe. 13th floor Elevators, the trashmen, the Sonics & so on. Vibes something like Suzi Q by CCR as well. With the "Carol Sue" line in this, I suppose such a comparison is inevitable. This track was quite fun to listen to & has a great "old school" groove. The mixing on this isn't perfect by digital standards (Nothing I post is either) but it's perfect for this track. It ads to the old school charm. Something like the original Runaway by Del Shannon, which sounds like it was recorded in a toilet stall with a three dollar microphone. "Remaster" that track & you'll destroy it's monophonic beauty. That's for sure. Old School beats the crap out of what's around today. I'm an old rocker so naturally I think that. So great job on this track all the way round.
Dear Mr Clickbaitcabaret, when I hear from you again, your servant am I, and will humbly remain. Take that for mentioning The Trashmen who channeled The Rivington's Papa Oom Mow Mow just like I channeled Suzie Q by Lonnie Mack -https://youtu.be/ktTqN2HykJY. and by CCR. I have both.
This song just cried out "Carol Sue."{ It really isn't about anybody even though at the time I was at Mixposure.com there was a young lady named Carol Sue who was a member there. It is NOT about her. vic
You got my feet tappin with this one. I think you have a great voice for the blues. Put me into a good state of mind. Liked the experimental feel to it too, with the surprises mixed in.
Thank you, Neuromancer56, for the listen and the review. It was insightful and appreciated. Thanks for the comment regarding my voice, I am very conscious about my voice. Sometimes my sinuses haven't made it unintelligible. It is always good when someone finds one of my "Easter eggs" as I am noted for them. Vic
Thanks, Wayne, you lifted my spirits, too. I am essentially housebound these days anyway, so I can only see low-hangers through the window. I'm so glad you liked it, I worked hard to even out the volumes. I was trickier than handle and some loops glare a bit. I was encouraged by the response so I whipped up anther one. Maybe you'd like do the vox on it? vic
Way to go vigwig...LM could use more blues (although I`m not sure there is a big audience)...the musicians who have been around the music trip gotta like this....enjoyed this one man...nicely done....keep on....Ed
Thank you, Ed, I appreciate the insider dope, the listen and the comments. Blues seems to work best for me. You have certainly rejuvenated me. There aren't many good blues loops out there. I have to cut some loops to smithereens. vic
Haha well you should be honored me covering, so much stuff here on looperman. And yeah i do like to keep people busy. Your no exception to that though :P Anyway you now do know that you will never get bored around me though, when i am covering so much stuff in here. Including yours. And i sure will take a look at that other track you mentioned. because simply i do like a good laugh. Even when it comes to music. And yeah my momma did took my plate. So sorry about that though ;). Have a good one you good old dawg. And yeah for now i leave you at peace. While it lasts though ;)
While i was listening to this track it really made me smile a lot (In a good way that is). Which is good, because most people arent able in doing so. When it comes to the creation of music or making remixes. I really find it awesome that a gentleman like yourself. Is able to put these kind of things together. Of course it still could use some improvements, gentle touches & fine tuning. But besides that. The basics are prety good indeed. So yeah i can really appreciate this interesting track aka remix. In my dj years i did this a lot as well. hell even people could see me in real life all over the world. When i was spinning my tracks. But those days are long gone now. And besides that, i do enjoy it more to be a music creator, than being a dj though. So this is what i continue to be doing until i die. Have a good one my man. :D Cheers
Well, here we are again. You have kept me busy all afternoon, answering posts and posting and remixing trying anyway. I'm exhausted. But I am happy that I heard from you again on this track. This remix only shares the vocals(?) with the original which I liked as it was but I like this remix, too. It, was during a frenzy of instrumental work I went through about the time of this one.Thank you for the listen and the comments, although I won't attempt to fix this one (or the last one you reviewed either). May I suggest for smiles you listn to The Alligator Butt or Does Your Mama Eat Yoplait? Vic
Now this sounded old school. Which is good though. Because yeah blues is that old already hehe. I did dig it though. And yes i can appreciate some good old blues music as well. It even put a small smile on my face. Which is a positive thing when music does that to me. Even with the blues. It could use some proper fine tuning though. But besides that, it was a nice and solid blues track. So good job on that one though. Cheers.
I am so pleased that you enjoyed this track. I got saxed up, lol.I ytried real hard to keep it from being monotonous and to reconcile the sound levels, trying to take into account what I was hearing with what I was seeing on the volume mete. The only thing is my high-end hearing is shot. I just got some hearing aids and I was surprised at what I was hearing for the first time in years, some which makes me feel like giving them back, like shrieking babies. I'll try anew to level it. vig
Nice Blues track. My only criticism would be whatever that is that periodically comes in from time to time is a bit too loud and maybe needs to be softened a bit either through EQ or the level in the mix. Just my 2 cents. Overall a nice track. Feels very authentic especially in the vocals.
Wow! Topvega appreciate the listen and taking the time to comment on specific aspects. Thanks, I'll take that negative comment and turn that loop down. Hold that Tiger, Vic
Joe Cramer! I am so glad you listened to this one, it was just a little thing I free-handed some years ago and has a notion to update the music.Thank you for listening and the positive comments. Now I feel energized to go back to the vigwig vaults and stir up a dope track. vic
I'm amazed you commented on y track. A positive and a personal one too. Do I know you or you me? I was apprehensive of putting this one up as is, because it could use more work on meshing the loops and such. I would have tried to improve on the vox but the original I recorded years ago are cleaner than anything I could produce these days with my 73 yr old voice.
When I get bored, I fiddle with loops until a track emerges. One time I was fooling around with some loops and a track emerged that just screamed out the words "Gimmee that plunger!" and so a song about unstopping a commode was born. One of my sons suggested I do a track that had only a few words and "See the Dawgs" was born. I was blue because my wife was neglecting me so "I Put a Spell on Her" was born. Another time I was in a chatroom and it sounded like a song being played had the words "alligator butt" in it and in a flight of fancy "The Alligator Butt (Cries Tonight)" was conceived with "cries tonight" added becaose it was like The Lion Sleeps Tonight and ButchaSpanked was referred to because that artist was in the room and a spanking would cause you to cry. Well, that's it for the tip of the iceberg....vigwig
People have a tendency to like my strange songs for some reason. As long as you like it and enjoyed it, that's what counts. I wonder what you found really strange about it, hmmmmm, vig

Hey, cool and funny. I definitely want to know Carol Sue! Do you have her phone number? This tune reminds me (a little) of J. J. Cale.
