Thank you much and sorry for the extremely late reply...I took a long hiatus from the site to finish school and I'm back on....thank you again! - David
Hi. I think it's a decent track but I didn't really hear three distinct genres, as you described.
Maybe you're saying you hear the change at 0:41 as a genre change. And at 1:35. They seem to me to be pretty much the same genre, just a bit of a change, which works well.
Advait said "Addition of Tabla there at 2.16 was very unique and cool."
But that's not tabla, is it? It did stand out for me, though. It's a type of bongo house loop, isn't it?
2:44 synth movement is one of my favourite bits.
Ah, I think see why you're hearing this as a mix of genres. Because of the double time drums and the half time, slightly more trap/r'n'b ones.
It's got a fairly melodic and far out vibe to it so well done.
Hey StaticNomad, thanks a lot for the listen & review...much appreciated! You & Advait are both correct, it's a House Loop with Tabla incorporated in it...glad you like the mix of sounds in this track...I get what you mean, it's not a complete switch in genres in that there isn't a distinct shift in sound to distinguish each genre...other that the beat switch lol...Thanks again!-Dave
The beats are just perfect and very well programmed.
Really loved the transitions between different genres..!!
Fell in love with the genre switch at 1.35.
Addition of Tabla there at 2.16 was very unique and cool.
The mains synth is really awesome..!!
Other synths are nice and does their jobs..!!
Very well produced track and really addicted to it..!!
Good mixing and mastering....
AWESOME..!!
Plz make such fusions in future.Maybe you can add some Indian elements in your future tracks.
Hey Advait07, thanks a lot for the listen and excellent review my friend...much appreciated! I'm glad you enjoyed the array of sounds incorporated throughout this track....I had fun creating it! I would love to incorporate Indian elements in one of my tracks...I just may come up with something soon lol, thanks for the idea!-Dave
Love that big fat bass ChokiStarz and the way it contrasts with the higher/lighter sounds.....nice slow grooving, head-nodding kind of sound with just the right key prog & variations to keep it rolling & the ears perked...good job on this one..enjoyed the listen...Ed
Nice synth use, this goes really well with the track. Think you got this pretty well worked out, and it combines the vocals greatly. However I would like to hear more then just this vocals too it, someone rapping over it or someone doing clean vocals on it would sound great. Thanks for sharing it with us ;)
Thanks a lot bro, much appreciated! Yeah I think your right about having radio vocals on the track... it would be a good fit for this style of track... thanks again! -Dave K.
Sweet beat, you looking for any vocalist on this one? I'd love a copy in case I feel inspired at some point to sing something on it. write4heaven@hotmail.com
Thank you for listening to the track!! And yes, i've been looking for a singer to lay vocals over this track for a year or two now so it would be cool if you could...I'll send you a copy to your e-mail. Let me know if you decide to throw vocals on it, I'd love to hear it!-David
Why, thank ya much & i'm glad you like it...I enjoyed creating this track because it was the first time I've created a track around vocals, so it was a bit challenging to say the least but fun none-the-less...excellent voice by the way!
I like the drums and bass a lot! Some of the trancey synths sound out of place, but I appreciate that you were trying something new! Fusion is cool that way! This gets better as I get used to it... Yeah, Nice work!
Thanks Spiv for the comments, always appreciated!! I agree to an extent...a few of the trance-y synths did sound a bit odd to me at first, so I tried to make sure each sound compliments one another. After completing the track, I thought everything seemed to blend cohesively...Thanks again for stopping by and having a listen!!
Hey Choki,MACK MAN still around. The track is the bomb. you are a synth using guru. I really like the sub on this track, great vocals. I agree with SILVERPAW to boost at 1500hz 1or2db or so. I also herd distortion. I would even roll off the bottom freq. between 60-80hz,then try using a graphic eq on the overall mix.Little more stereo on the back round vocals. Of course it's better to repair what ever problems a mix has before mastering.PEACE. THE MACK MAN OUT.
Thanks Mack, man it's always a pleasure! I know exactly what you me...I went back a did a little editing to the volume levels of the background vocals and tried a different eq mix to see if the sound has improved...I still hear a little buz during the last verse...will have to go back and edit that...but thanks again!
In addition to all thats been said, the background vocals are louder than the lead, I think the lead should be out front just a tad more, at least where the backgrounds are.
It isn't always easy to blend vocals with muzic but if you think about it it's just another instrument, much like the ones that made up the instrumental track. No worries, it can only get better :-)
You are absolutely right, and I realized that after I finalized the track...My cousin LaRayne (who wrote & sang the song) will be going to an actual studio to re-record the verses...so it should sound much better. I'll update this once that happens, and i'll also have to master is because I've somehow distorted the bass a little doing the chorus. Thanks alot for your comments/critiques...greatly appreciated!
Thanks you much for the comment, greatly appreciated!! If you liked this instrumental, checkout the finished version with vocals on my page Titled: "We Cry feat. LaRayne"...it's this same track, just renamed and now has vocals...thanks again!!
Thank you much Carmino for your words, greatly appreciated and i'm glad that you liked it! I read your profile...I've been trying to collaborate on here but nothing ever comes to fruition! I'd like to collaborate with you if your up for it...just let me know, my e-mail is on my page. Thanks again, will definitely check out your music!!
Finally a cat that feel like i do.all these trks all the same. no originality . You prove that with this trk it's not like all the rest. Now you got me wanting to use the Vsti sawer, and the rest.keep making them hot trks.
Thanks bro for that review, much appreciated! Yeah, I just get sick and tired of stuff sounding so cookie cutter so I always try to go left with my music, thanks again!
Thanks alot for the review, much appreciated!! I'm glad you liked the entire track! With each track I create, I try to work on them until they are near perfect in my eyes and i'm glad you enjoyed, Thanks again!!
Nice beats and good use of cymbals, I like the riffs and the little scratches you put in, I wasn't too keen on the sounds that came in around 1.38 (just my opinion) Good work and it sounds well mixed.
Thanks alot for the review, much appreciated!! I'm glad you like the beat, cymbals, riffs & scratches. No worries about not liking the sounds that comes around 1:38...I respect that you gave your honest opinion....which is worth way more in my books so thanks again!
I like the song David. It has a nice beat and melody. I love the violin, that one caught my attention first. Everything was pretty good on what I've heard. You did a good job mixing different genres together. Very soothing and mellow flow, I think it's perfect for driving or just chillin. Good job, keep up the good work my friend.
Thank you much for the review Bobby, always appreciated!! Glad you like the violins...I've been using a lot of them lately in my songs lol...Thanks again!
Wow, thanks for the review man, I really appreciate that! I just try and make music not only that people would want to hear but also that people can feel...The strings in this song sets the tone of the song as soon as you hear it. My favorite track out of all the one's I've created and i'm glad you appreciate the work I put into my tracks & loops, thanks again!
Yeah i heard these loops before, you def done a fantastic job with them, great thinking outside of the box was done, and i can appreciate that. Keep it up fam. Peace and GOOD music!
B.K.
Hey man, thanks alot for that review, much appreciated!! I always try to think outside the box with all my music as I don't really want to duplicate others sound...thanks again!!
I like it. The notes go together BEAUTIFULLY!! Such a refreshing series of chords and notes. Im telling you, this would be CRAZY GOOD if you used some different synths for that melody, just something more real sounding. Ya know? It's catchy. The drum pattern you used is this songs best feature. I could see LMFAO on a track like this, or someone like T-Pain. I like how it ended with that fade out!! That was a nice compliment to the track. I'm imagining it with vocals and man...this is hot!
-Thomas Swanson
Hey Thomas, thank you much bro for that review, extremely appreciated!! I think my drum patterns and how I fit them with each track is usually my strong suite so i'm glad you thought the drum pattern was the songs best feature and i'm glad you like the track as a whole, thanks again!!
