Nice bass man, seriously kicks ass and love the variation in different basslines too. Don't hear a lot of whispering children, maybe once or twice after I gave it a second listen haha, maybe it's an idea to have a break from the drums once a while. It's really fast and there's no end to it until well... the end :P
Defintely has a classic funky feel. I like the transition. I'm a huge fan of using DnB in other genre's so this one is totally right up my alley. A tip of the hat to you sir.
ok there are some nice ideas here brother.. that snare needs a little more middle sounds like you've compressed the hell outta it.. the whole track just seems to fast whats the bpm? 200? there are some nice ideas it just feels a little rushed drum and bass doesn't need to be that fast.. the bass is very nice a treating growl runs through the track like a pulse.. I didn't really pick up to much on those fx or to much of an atmosphere maybe it's just me... I really think the track has potential maybe you should check out some of the ep's released on black hoe records.. tvg hates tvg is awesome and does atmosphere and slamming beats very well.. keep 'em coming brother
thanks for the crits man! yeah that middle drum loop was an over compressed one i just lifted out of another tune i made as audio, working on changing the snare and getting more ambient fx and will repost. oh and black hoe is awesome! thanks for switching me onto it brother.
OK, so I won't fill up your inbox with reviews... I promise. Solid track, got that spooky vibe to it that I think mixes so well with DnB. Another one to download, thanks. - DF
Impressive and advanced sh*t! I wasn't too sure at the beginning but it picked up quickly and really works well. Love the bass line and how you end up having so many sounds going on, and were able to careful control them. I did a DnB using the same vocals, I'd love for you to check it out and get your take on some of my other stuff... I'm def gonna take a close look at your repertoire. - DF
hi finn69, it's lee, oh man it's been a crazy few months, we couldn't get the radio show, sorry but we now have a podcast all set up, the first podcast is ready and going up on Friday, you're track 'Cry Of The Jungle' is the third track we play, I'll send you the URL on Thursday if you give me your e-mail address 'cos looperman won't let me put the URL in,
thanks and keep it up
Hmm. That's weird. My email is finn_reilly@hotmail.com, though if you click on 'contact me' on my profile, you can also send emails that way. Thanks man, hope it goes well! all the best
you had fun making it and i enjoyed listening very nice breakbeat, glitch style beats and complimentary additions make this a good listen, downloaded cheers.
It's glitchy enough for me to call it glitch! Love how you used the vocals, it's very groovy! The synth sounds are very nice, they sound a little bit old school. Very nice work on glitching the percussion! Nice work in every way!
This song is awesome! I really liked the intro, and it left me wondering where the song would go. When those beats and bass kicked in I was thoroughly impressed! Really nice sound to the bass, and the other synths are equally cool! The drums are really hardcore, and they make this song stand out. Great work my friend!
thanks brother! a recent bout of flu left me stuck in bed with nothing to do but learn to master stuff properly! cheers for the review, and a happy new year.
it's lee from the podcast, last night we got the studio set up and were moving to a live Radio Show starting on Jan 4th instead of a podcast, annoyingly though we now need your permission to play it on the radio show instead of the podcast,
try and lose nothing bpm is what it is if you cant dance to it its cos your soft and cant dance.beautiful track i know cos i wrecked ...... peace be with whoever .....love it all, all of it.oh and it ended like you loved me.true
That sounds awesome! Yes you'd be welcome to play it on your show. I've just reuploaded a remastered version for you. Do please send me a link to the podcast.
Love the style of this track.. nice old skool elements. I do think its too fast though .Try and lose a few bpm , try about 4 and it will sound better. Occasionally sounds coming in are a bit too loud or quiet so keep an ear out for those... I can hardly hear the jazzy part for example ,which is a shame cuz it sounds nice. This is a fine bit of work just needs a few loose ends tying up. Maybe do that and repost it would like to hear a tweaked version.
I got sick of the clapping very quickly. I think you should have done was make the other sounds louder then the clapping. So we can hear the other sounds and just hear the clapping.
It's a valid point. Unfortunately, sometimes I'm one of those people that just makes a sick synth line then forgets to make the drums decent. If I change it now though it won't be eligible for the AGC, so expect a remix in December. Great review man, thanks!
Very interesting. I like what you got goin here. It sounds like a modernized halloween. Good job on this. Its great for halloween. I like how it swithches up so much.
