This is a stunning piece of metal my friend! I love to hear a guitar being played as well as you have, it was awesome!

The whole track is massive and for me, as good as quite a lot of artists with record contracts! I wish you every success my friend! Faved for certain!

Over 300 plays and only 7 reviews, come on Looper family!!! Share the love!

This is very nice!

I love the 'saw-like' rhythms ripping through the song! .. I see that you are a rhythm man!! ... hence, play technically simple solos on pretty kickass fast rhythms!

at 1:46, you can change the beat signature to 3/4 or something! :) just an idea!

on Schizophrenia by Steinaa
Hey ... I am exploring your music right now and am loving it!

This is the really awesome 'BAD'!! :D

.... one thing which can be improved is the lead guitar. It seems that the notes are slightly off at places and the solo seems mellow against the heavy rhythm. I would like it to go crazy and fast somewhere with the heavy rhythm, after all it is 'Schizophrenia'. Then again, it is my personal preference, not a professional opinion.

on Apocalypse by Steinaa
Yummy! ... it is strange but that's the first word that came to my mind! I love the rhythm guitar tone!...it is thick, chunky and meaty like food perhaps! not well done nor too raw :D Just perfect!
(you might have guessed that I am hungry!)

The synths maybe need a little 'oomph' ... i hope you understand what i mean.

it is kickass song! ... makes you feel like annihilating anything that comes your way, thus, appropriately named 'Apocalypse'! :)

Not much I can say, buddy. Your work is always top quality in my books. Since you already stated that this was a "rough mix", there's no reason for me to point out any problems in that area. Musically, I think it's a great track.

Peace,

Mike

Ahhhhhh.......!
This is great! Very in flames-y in parts too, which I love. And you really got that tone to work for you in this one. You'll have to disclose your gearbox settings, I think. Now I need to know how you did it. :) And what program do you use for drums? I never dl but I'm gonna put this on my playlist at home, it's pretty perfect.

Hey Kate (the great) - One of my major influences are, in fact, In Flames - so its good to see that I somehow can manage to reflect that in my own projects :) My Gearbox settings? Revealed? Hmm.. Toss me questions at asteinaa@hotmail.com and we'll take it from there :) For the drums I use Addictive Drums which I've been tweaking abit to get the sound I want. Anyway, thanks for stopping by and taking your time to listen - and not least taking your time to add a comment :)

First of all, this is amazing, awesome arrangement, mixed well. Faved it. But did you use gearbox? I use gearbox too, and truthfully the tone just never impresses me. It's uncanny, I wish I still had a copy of a metal song I did with my port because you'd hear it for yourself. I'll see if I can't find it. Your settings might be completely different than mine, you have a Jackson and I had a Schecter, etc, but to hear the tracks, especially when doubled, they sound identical. It kind of puts this hollow tinny thing into the mix no matter what you do to beef it up. It's funny you said that about your bassline too, I tried bringing my bassline up and just fricking hated it, hence the song's deletion now. :) I'm looking for a better option for guitar effects myself because of it. It's ok for the cleaner effects, chorus and flange, but hearing your skills, I definitely think you should consider a better port or whatever. You know what you're doing. :) Again, it's still great, and the first thing I've heard by you. I'm off to hear more now.

Hey KateTheGreat :) First of all- thank you very much. I have used Gearbox for approximately 4 years now (since I bought my Pod X3..), and I'm really pleased with both things. Although it took awhile for me to figure out the sound I wanted, I feel like its working like it should now. Dont get me wrong here, its not close to the perfection I want, but its fair enough compared to what other stuff do in that pricerange. I would love to hear that metal song you're talking about. And by the way.. when you are doubling tracks - are you just duplicating them, or are you recording two different tracks..? (Just gotta ask..) And what setup do you use in gearbox? (Amp/cab models.) This song is not one of my better mixing-wise, and if you got time and want to hear one of my latest - this is it:

Anyway, really appreciate your review. I'm sort of in a hurry here, so I gotta bounce - but I'm leaving the fan open on your page to listen when I get back. Thanks again Kate.

Another awesome track. I would probably add a thicker, deeper sounding rythm to complement the lead, and add some vocals, but that's a personal preference. You have the skills to go professional, you just need to get a vocalist and contact a record company. You may need to try several, but one will eventually listen, and then ka-blam!! If that's what you want, i mean, it's your song. Fav.

Once again Steinaa, the only way I can describe the majority of your music is Epic. To me it has the feel of an In Flames or least that vocal style would fit perfectly if you decide to add vocals in the future. I think I've told you that before, but it's true.
