Hey thanks for the review. Unfortunately one half of Papa Chubbs moved to New Zealand. Since then we haven't recorded a thing. The good news is that he returns to the UK in February 2011. So it wont be long before we are back with new material. I can't wait, and i'm already working on a few new tunes in preparation. Thanks for your interest its all appreciated. G
I like this a lot, great vocal nice guitar playing and writing who could ask for more? Interesting name Papa chubbs, similar to a name my daughter calls me......Thx for stopping by and for the nice comments.
It looks like all your songs just flow out of your hands as if these were just words on a phrase. I feel like in front of a a
mountain panorama.
Just one technical detail maybe for enhancement the 's' of the voice sounds a bit too loud in my headphone, perhaps have a try with a de-esser (I use one from Kjaerhus it works really fine).
Thanks for your kind words they are much appreciated. The ess sounds have probably been enhanced with the addition of compression on the vocal. I'll definately give the de esser a try in the future. Thanks again Papa Chubbs.
The Serona line was pretty cool. I'm lovin the melody of this, but the vox are a little too... What to call it...???... Lovey Dovey? Eh, it's weak, but I'll use that. Now, if I had a GF this'd be great coz I could punch it up and... Total make out time, oh yeah! Haha, sorry. That little break in the middle with just the Guitar was brilliant. As for the other stuff, it seemed to play fine for me (shrugs). Off for now. Lates mate!
Down round my parts. What with all of those retirees and all. Absolutely lovely vox mate. The live insts are very solid too. And don't fret or feel bad about the drums. I know alotta folks that do the same thing. In fact, some of 'em even perform with their Mac laptop as their drummer. Besides, in some ways it's better- Less gear to tote around and the play back volume is adjustable (reg kits can be super loud). Anyways, I'm at the end of the song and dug the way ya had that strummy finish. Later on!
hey, heard this beauty on your myspace, slipped completely under my radar here on looperman ....
so thank you for your comment, otherwise I would have missed another brilliant song!!!
you already know how much I like your music, so I only say keep on doing your thing, and if you only have half of the fun with your music as I have you must be a lucky man ...
beautiful track! im so glad someone knows how to pan and to each side and make layers!!!! honestly my daughters name was emma.you sir will go far dont stop
great track ! I really enjoyed this - you've gone through the process of mixing it together really well. A clever and well timed arrangement and I like where and how you bring the backing vocals into the mix. perhaps the lead vocal could have a 2nd Harmony alongside and see how that sounds. just an idea. marks out of 10? I give it 11 - cool stuff man !
this is BEAUTIFUL! great sound of guitar (and I know what a nightmare acoustic guitar recording is) - and the tune is just so tender... Love it, thanks for sharing!
