I think that you have a very good voice, and I'm amazed at your playing. I tried that once in 1990, but computers really weren't working all that well yet, and there wasn't good software like we have today, so I was doing it on multi-track Cassette Tape and over dubbing. by the time I got finished, it sounded like a wind tunnel from going across a dirty head so many times.
This is good enough to be finished and put on the radio. I play bass guitar, 12-string, and many others if you ever wanted to hit the studio, and the road. I've done both for many years, and know how entertainment goes.
Just a thought, if you can produce songs like this, what's holding you back?
Hey thanks for listening to my track, technology has really come a long way when it comes to being able to record stuff on your own. I have practiced a lot to try to get good recordings, an ever going process that will always need improvement. I appreciate your compliments, I do this stuff for fun, a bit of an outlet really. I've never played live for anyone, I don't really plan do that but I think it would be fun, but I would be a wreck for sure. Anyway, thanks again, maybe would do a collab sometime if time allows.
Hey, this is good stuff! If you ever want me to make some sample music for your class to toy with, I am more than happy to make some basic songs for them to work with. :)
Hey Kyle, vox improved quite a bit on this one. Your moving forward as well on the production side as well. Keep that up and you'll be doing this for a living!
Cru
Brilliantly written song. Not usually my genre of music, but I totally believed what I was listening to, I can still hear the tune in my head as I write this. Thanks for sharing :)
Very nice, Kyle. We don't get much country here, so it's a nice change. Hey, not a thing wrong with your voice, my friend. It fits the genre well. Playing is very good as well as the mix. All in all, great job!
Hey thanks for checking out my track, I am glad you liked it. Thanks for the compliments on my voice as well, I really like country and just want to give the the genre justice :) Anyway, thanks again.
Usually I don't live vocal music but I could say your voice fits pretty well with your work. Nice job
Also I have maybe 2 thing to ask you,
First, could you put the lyric ? For a non English person, like me, who would like to understand the real meaning of your work lyrics is the best friend.
Second, could you make an instrumental version of this track. this would be cool.
Hey thanks for checking out the track, I am kind of opposite in the fact that I like tracks with vocals, I don't usually pay a lot of attention to the lyrics as much as I enjoy them accompanying the music. Anyway thanks for the listen and comment.
Thanks for Silverman for listening to the track, its good to hear that you thought the track was good. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment, I appreciate it.
This is top notch Kyle...a bigger mix this time with the electric gtr...nice job on the recording by the way...We tend to be our own worse critics at times but you really do have the vocal chops Kyle..I don`t know how to explain it but its a voice character thing ...this would fit very nicely in today`s country radio....a big well done to you...fav from this ol boy...Ed
Thanks Ed, I always respect your view on things so I take your compliment on my vocals to heart, I appreciate it. It's tough to for me to like my own voice I guess, but I do like singing so I guess I just need to except it and just make music because its fun. As always I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment. Thanks!!!
Mate good to be back, had to check out your works, mate have said before you have a vocal that is easy on the ear, could listen to it and not get bored, great work...this sounds like a piece that you would get playing a country radio station, very enjoyable my friend, nothing to fault here, sounding great through headset, fav'd peace mosaic.
Hey thanks Mosaic, I appreciate your vocal compliment, its nice to hear some people like it. I appreciate the fav, listen, and comment. Thanks again!!!
Thanks I appeciate your kind words. I wish I could do things a little bit better but I guess I need to be grateful for what I am able to do. Thanks for the listen.
I didn't know you were from down here in Dixie, you sound born and bred in the south land. Vocals are sounding pretty good and so is the mix. Electric guitar sound is perfect for this style of music.
Thanks for taking a listen, country is my favorite music genre but I don't do it often because its hard to find the right sound. I finally found some guitar tones that I like so hopefully I will be turning some more out in the future. Thanks again.
Wide stereo sound that I really love. I've been trying to make a video for you to show you what I do to get bigger vocals but it's not recording my audio!! :( I'm still trying though! Your music is getting better and better everytime, man. Keep at it, you're quickly becoming a serious contender on this site. Even though you don't think you're the best at singing, your voice works perfectly for this track. Fun-lovin', raw and relatable. Great job!
Hey Brado thanks for the compliments I really appreciate it. I am going to be teaching an audio engineering section in my communications class next school year so I thought I should probably buckle down and start learning some of the technical stuff so that my students can hopefully make some decent recordings. By the way I found this website that allows you to make video recordings with both system audio and microphone audio simultaneously for free. I tried it on my windows machine and worked great, here is the site:http://www.apowersoft.com/free-online-screen-recorder hopefully this will work because I am really looking forward to seeing your process. Anyway thanks again for checking out the track.
Wow, I like this one a lot. Your voice is definitely better suited for the lower register as cru mentioned. Nothing wrong with your other works, since this is a hobby for you, its not that important that you train since I would think its more of an outlet for you than anything. Seriously, your mixing has improved so much. Sounds super wide and professional. The vocal could been bigger in my opinion, even though it still cuts through the mix nicely. All the instruments and recording are flawless, I have no critiques there. Good stuff, buddy. Your music is constantly improving and I'm very happy to witness that. All the best,
Hey Kyle, this has a big sound to it, almost like a U2 song(Rattle and Hum period) with the keys/pad rolling in the background as the drums pound away and the singer wails! All the elements are there.
I know what you mean about uploading because you are tired of mixing it, lol!! We must listen to bits and pieces of songs hundreds of times, at least. I usually try to have 3 or 4 songs going at once so I don't get too bored with one project.
Hey Wayne thanks for stopping by and listening, its always appreciated. I have been trying to find more time to write and record, still not as much as I would like but at least I can do it a little. I am able to work on about 1 track a month which is good compared to the 3-4 months it was taking. I put in a studio at the school that I teach at so now when I have free time I try to get in there and utilize it. Anyway, thanks again.
Probably one of your better tracks. Mostly because you stay in the lower ranges of your vocal stratus. When you go higher you get very "Pitchy" Flat, which is in most of your songs that you sing in in a higher plateau. That being said, you have some fundamentals of singing. Why not invest in a vocal coach. Listen; it takes balls to sing on any track, and share it with the whole wide world (I give you a million credits for doing it) . Believe me I am my worst critic of my own voice which is why you don't hear me very often sing. But you have to solve those pitch issues if your gonna demo your songs or else no one will bite when it could be an amazing song underneath. Find a vocal coach and practice..you will get better at it. I believe in you.
Cru
Hey Cru, thanks for checking out the track. I know what you mean on the vocals, I do this for fun/hobby. I wouldn't mind taking some vocal lessons but I don't really have time. I feel like I am still trying to find my voice, I think I am getting closer, but of course I still need way more practice. I think its harder to record my vocals with my headphones on as well, I get a good mix in my cans but it is still a bit awkward. The good thing at least is that I post on the internet and I can hide behind a fake name to cover up my pitch problems, lol. Thanks again for listening and the comments, always appreciated.
Oh yeah...that guitar lick does stick in the head...classic kind of rock lick I recall well from days gone by...I really like this one Kyle..Your vocal is, as always, top notch and I definitely like that country-rock accompaniment you`ve got going...I`m just using some old Sony MDV600 cans & they are terrible on the low end (great for checking highs) so the bass sounds fine...if you need to unmuddy it a bit just try scooping our between 200-400 and bump it a tiny bit at 80...great track Kyle...rea;;y did enjoy it....Ed.
