Thank God for the Featured Track! This is another gem my friend! You know, I think I'm gonna have a "SpivKurl" day and just listen to your entire collection!
I love the 80s feel to it against the glitch elements. Your trademark beats give it an uplifting vibe that made me wanna bang my head in time to it!
Great work as always my friend. Will my brain take a SpivKurl day? Will let you know!
Just catching up some pre v2 replies I needed to do! Hope to see you around the new Looperman site. Did you ever have a Spivkurl day? lol Thanks so much for listening to my stuff!
i dig, and yea, the flute solo's pretty cool. I guess my one critique is that you use the same swell too many times; that reverse crash-cymbal thing. Eh, maybe you only used it... nope, it's your outro too. Yea, I don't know, I'm a big fan of buildups and I never like to use the same sound to build up a beat more than once in a track. Cool beat though, I don't really dig elecontronic-sounding business, but this was easy on the ears. Good work
Yeah I'm always guilty of overusing my swells and builds, I guess you could say it's part of my signature sound! I'm glad you liked the flute solo and the beat though! Thanks for the review!
Hey thanks, glad you liked it! This is actually from my third album. I haven't made it available to the general public yet, but after I sort some computer problems I just might! I will post in the forums if I release it! I appreciate the review!
Nice one, interesting to come across a track in which you have played guitar on....rare treat and shows just how experimental you are...percussions are very cool...no easy task...love it!
Yeah, I need to play guitar more often. It's nice to add a live feel to my music every now and then! Glad you liked the percussion! Thanks for the review and fave!
You know alot of your stuff is quite simple spiv, but yet it works quite well! Although this doesn't sound too fast pace like DnB usually is. (160 bpm) But who the hell am I right?? lol breaking the rules makes you your own artist! Nice transitions throughout brudda! regards and respect
Yeah it is quite simple, you're right! This song was really brought together by the addition of the vocoder! Actually the tempo is a little faster at 172 BPM, though I admit it doesn't sound like it. Thanks much for the review and fave!
This has got a real kinda of 90s feel to it for me. A real fun energy about the whole piece, it's bouncy and uplifting, which made me dance around at work (not a pretty site).
Really cool sound to it and excellent production as always. Really loved it.
Glad I could get you dancin! Yeah, the 90's were my heyday for sure, so it's nice to go back and give a little nod to the past! Thanks for the review and fave!
I really need to make a dub-step track one day, especially some grime. i actually made some grime and rapped on it but most likely will have to record it again. anyways nice approach at the genre, the wobbling bass is always a staple for the genre! it's very unique it gives off it's own vibe! very ill stuff you got you page spiv! regards and respect
Spiv! this sh.tuff is dope! great f breaks 'n'vibes all together. Love it how you played the eq on this one. This is one pumping'track. I can hear you through it, the rawish bass style, - but at around 2.20 i wish it dropped into something more multi-encompassing, like a variety of, - or a spectrum of this particular vibe-enchancing frequencies. Good vibe though, I'd say extend your breaks and add some layers, shtuff is smooth though, keep it up.
Hello my friend!
This track is very complex and so well put together.
You are brave to come off your anti-depressants ,I just keep adding more to my list.
I think most musicians are depressed.I think talent takes away a part of the brain that keeps us functional.
As my partner has often said to me,"you must be mad to sit up all night creating that racket".
I think I am totally mad,but I'm driven by that madness, and thoroughly enjoy sitting up all night making my racket.
The next day,I want to kill myself, because the racket I made the night before suddenly does just sound to me like a racket.
I don't know what to say to you other than keep on making a racket because it is music to my ears and to the many fans you have on the loop. And,please tell me,how do you even start to come off the anti-depressants?It would make me happy to wake up one morning and not have to take a fist full of pills just to get me through the day!
All that aside,it's about the music, and boy,you have it in your soul!g.x
Thanks for stopping by my friend! I think when it comes to those antidepressants I just got off of them because the side effects were out weighing the benefits of the medication. Simple as that... I still take a couple pills everyday, just for other problems... so don't get down on yourself! I'm sure there will come a day where you feel that you don't need the pills as much. I hope we can both keep creating a "racket"! I really appreciate your thorough and personal review! Thanks much!
Thanks friend! This is one of my favourites too, which is why it got placed as track one on my new album! Your reviews make me smile, and I'm honoured by the fave!
I should have quite a bit of fun remixing this one. It has that nice quirky bounciness to it, your music really reminds me of early Aphex Twin tracks in so many ways.
I'll see what I can come up with, this should be interesting!
Thank you so much! Being compared with Aphex is a big compliment! I'm really glad you liked this track, and I'm eagerly awaiting your remix! Thanks for the review and fave!
Too cool, I grabbed the stems for this a few days ago, great idea posting in the forums, thought I would start the remix without listening to the original first, try and get influence from the material provided rather than the track itself...curiosity finally getting the better of me now lol...agree with Uberstrat, very clean sounds, perfect choice for a remix, cool to hear how the audio is arranged originally, love what you do to bro, will be sure to post mine when its finished in the forums, thanks for the motivation! peace.
So glad to hear that you're getting in on this remix opportunity, I can't wait to hear what you do with the stems! I'm glad you like the original! I would never have thought to put this up for a remix if it wasn't for some of my looperfriends! Thanks for the review and fave!
You are indeed a unique genius mastermind Spiv! Totally love this piece. Really interesting throughout, simple and yet beautifully complex. Totally unique and brilliant! Loved it and faved it!
You're to kind my friend! I'm really glad you could get into the piece, and hear the complexity I was speaking of! Thanks so much for the review and the fave!
Figured I'd take a listen after seeing your forum post, and I gotta be honest, this is a pretty cool track. The drums have a nice punchy, almost 8bit c64-esque sound, which I think is pretty cool. The pitch shifting at the start is really cool. The growl bass sounds pretty damn awesome.
