Im going to get told off for this...fuuuuck me! This is some serious tunage your comin out with. When this dropped in i creamed my pants and shouted "fuck!" Then it switches back and forth and hynotises you. If you drop darker mid tune and go nuts you'll have made the dubstep tune from my dreams. I dont usually get excited about someones tunes but i cant wait for this one.

I absolutely hate grime but i completely loved this track for some reason, your quite a talented producer i must say. Also, that track Sandwalker is very nice...sounds a bit like burial in the beginning, the only criticism of Sandwalker i can have is that i think later on you go a bit too over the top with your LFO's if you know what i mean, just a little constructive criticism :)
Chud37
Chud37 replied Unknown
I think you might like grime if you gave it a bit of a chance. Alot of the commerical grime is terrible, i'll admit that, But theres some good underground stuff out there. I prefere just the instrumental side of it, without the MCing, as MCing is quite hard to get right and it takes talent, a talent which so many little pikeys think they have and dont, lol. :P

As for sandwalker i'll agree with you. But thats pretty much the whole track is just playing about with the LFO. It was fun. I wasnt expecting it to fill any dancefloors though :)

Thanks for the review(s)! I love a bit of constructive critisism, it helps me out alot.

very nice bouncy happy riddim :) is that sample out of a Bar9 song? im sure i recognize it. everything flows and fits together, the gritty bass bring the dubstep and keeps me happy throughout. good work, like jahknow said you should do some more stuff like this, maybe try and bring in more of the dubstep influences. would have loved to hear this build up and up and drop into a sawtooth wobbler, even for the last 16 bars or something. again though, good work.
Chud37
Chud37 replied Unknown
Lol yeah i did think about letting it all build up and then doing something dirty afterwords..

And yeah it is a sample from Bar9, I heard it on here on looperman (check the reviews i've given, i cant remember the actual song) And asked and it just came from a pack called 'Vocal Samples', which i got and it has quite a few of the well known ones in there lol. So i thought i'd whack it into this Dubby song and pitch it down somewhat to show my so-called 'original' dubstep roots lol.

Anyway this was just an attempt. Its nice but i have to say i dont love it. I might have another go in the future :)

Hadnt heard this one, its sick! i sound like a broken record on your reviews but they get better with every song i hear. do you ever send any of this stuff off? you should, this is just as good if not better than most of the stuff im hearing at the moment. Has that real rusko sound too it, and considerin ruskos rulin the dubstep world at the mo, its a pretty good sound to have. http://dubstepdirectory.com/labels.html dunno if youve seen this but you should definatly have a look. great job on the song mate.

Heh naa its all good! I dont mind hearing it! :D

People have said to me that i should hava go. I havent been in any studios tho and got my music properly produced, and also, im just not satisfied with the quality yet..Im getting better but. One day i will!

Its a fun song but im not sure if it would get people dancing. Its good to know that people like it tho :)

Its a fairly good tune man, with plenty of heavy distortion on the lead synth saw which gives it a nice dirty feel. Im not sure how you managed the variable lead ossicilation, but it gave the track a good ammount of vareity as well! has a good change at about 2.50. However if i could change something i would turn down the main lead a little bit, and i think thats about it. Nicley done. check out my tracks sometime?

Chud37 replied Unknown
Heh thanks. So you think the main leads too loud? I do try and get the synths as loud as i possibly can without blocking out the drums or anything else in the song. And i really wanted it to hit quite hard when it came in so.

But thanks for your review, its nice to have some good constructive critisism. And i'll hava listen now! :)

Yo Chud don't go back yet. You know Jah loves the dubstep you're doin' and this is a fun exploration into melodic dub, But don't stop here. Roots stppers need you.

Lemme give a lil breakdown on the diffs between straight reggae and dub. The reggae beats are for the most prominent through both. A dubplate )back in the day) was simply the original A side single cut remixed in the studio by the stdio engineer. (Tubby, jammy, mad prof, etc.) who knew how to use the mixing board as a tool to create elaborate effect mixes , usually without the lyrics or a sparce mix of them.

It really kinda depends on the straight forwardness of the sounds. Dubs use l a r g e sounds and effects like analog reverbs, choruses, phasers and of course delays. Those are the big four. There are some super good genre crossing dubs out their that bridge several of our favs - dubstep, stepper dub, tranec dub - and wonky. Love it.

I'd say if you were gonna dubstep this track in it's instrumentation, the basic bassline could use the grit, and probably the piano as well. Good go though and please make another one. I'll mix it if you waan.

After your cutting comment on my page, with no really intelligent feedback I thought I'd come here and be blown away. I found your intro rather good, but when the guitar with the FX came in, the feel changed drastically and wasn't complementary. I would have loved to hear you continue this track with the same theme as the intro. (PS: Now see how my response gave you details rather than an attack with no substantive feedback to help you. We're all mature here....) Best wishes as you grow, learn and find humility.

---
You totally rude and arrogant. I'm not suggesting that we don't give each other feedback, nor am I suggesting that giving honest feedback means one isn't mature. I'm saying when your feedback is simply something like "you're an idiot" or "terrible movie/song, etc" it's not constructive at all.

But it seems that you are just a snob, so why do we waste each others time. Let's just agree that you don't bother me and I surely won't review or respond to you anymore in life. PLEASE leave me alone and take your arrogance elsewhere!!!!!

Had you simply informed me of the crackling in the audio (which I noted, it was a mistake in the output and I hadn't checked it) I would have fixed it. GOODBYE forever, please don't communicate with me anymore.........

Chud37 replied Unknown
Im perfectly mature thanks. Part of being mature is being honest. And that is what im doing. Have you actually listened to what your 'sample' (its not a song) sounded like on looperman? have you had any good reviews of it? its crackly, it clips, its just two words and i have no idea what they even mean. As for using as part of a dubstep song, well, you certainly wouldnt get it played in any of the clubs in London. Im mature enough to let someone know when something they've put online is terrible and not sugar coat it so they feel good about themselves and carry on making the same mistakes.

As for your 'cutting' comments about my song, You clearly dont get what dubstep is all about. I suggest you go listen to the likes of Bar9, Caspa, Rusko, Orien.

And by the way, its not a guitar, and its not a metal song.

Best wishes as you learn to grow up and be humble.

--------

Agreed!

Wow, man this is whack! Love the phasing and distortion: it's done very tastefully. I don't know if you did this on purpose, but the music drops are also well placed: keeps the whole track from being too overloaded with the synths. Excellent!
Chud37
Chud37 replied Unknown
Heh! I did do on purpose. Its the VIP version so i was extending the original, and the I use all the samples that I did before and some new ones. But yeah, everything stops when the talking comes in, just for half a bar or so, to break it all up a bit.

And thank you! Im glad you liked it, I was very pleased with it :)

Yeah! It was one of my favorites too, And on a recent trip to Thailand i had it on my mp3 player and it suddenly came to me that I should do a VIP. It took a long time tho, The first versions I made were pretty terrible and in no way matched the attitude of the original. So im really pleased with this one. I stayed up till 7am making this last night lol!

Thanks for your review tho mate, really appreciate it :)

Heh cool! Yeah dubstep is all about the bass. Thats why i love it. I mean i loved bassy songs before dubstep came along so its just perfect really. Glad you liked this one, Its not my favorite as it doesnt really tend to go anywhere, but its just a nice chill-out tune i guess, you've re-kindled my love for it :) thanks!

hey i just got cubase 5 as well! im loving it so far was able to make some sick dnb and trip hop beats with the new tools. anyway this song is sweet! im really diggin it.

i dont know much about how the different electronic genres are categorized but this tune is just cool in its own right. maybe you could help me to learn some of the genres and how they work (any part of the electronic genre doesn't exactly thrive in south texas, mostly its hip hop, rock and metal here)
Chud37
Chud37 replied Unknown
Heh thanks! Yeah cubase 5 is pretty good, although there are a few things that i think they have screwed up on, hopefully they'll fix them soon. But it still works pretty much okay so! its not that bad.

dnb is mah favorite electronic genre. i love the nasty basses and the fast pace action. that said, this tune is pretty solid for something you put together really quickly. i cant say i have any criticisms except for maybe that the hat loop seems to stand out a bit too much. (especially when the beat picks up, it can be distracting) other than that i like it alot. awesome tune =]
Chud37
Chud37 replied Unknown
yeah i completely get what your saying, i thought the same thing. Heh yeah i quite like it, i used to like DnB (i wasnt mad on it but it did like it) when i was in school, So i have a bit of it in my collection. I might make some more at some point :)
