Damn this is sweet stuff! I too wonder about the deep house tag, but I have never fully understood house music in general, so don't take my word for it. To me it has the flavor of fusion rock, a'la The Fixx, Depeche Mode, or some such thing, but it also has some elements which remind me of modern US rap music. I listen to weird stuff, so my ideals are not those of the modern populace (disclaimer).

It shows in this piece, that you are a bass player by nature. A good bass player is like gold. I just put new acoustic/electric bass strings on our old JBP bass for my wife to begin practising again. It was a good feeling to play in some chords and modes with her, on my classical with equally new strings. She is the only singing bassist I have ever worked with, and since we've been together since '94, it is a good feeling. Hopefully we can achieve some of our collective musical goals together.

I've listened a couple of times now, and I've enjoyed it much! Nightingale is kind of a classic member, who seems to have gone underground for the moment. I too have used his material. Some great guitar work there! If you need some help, maybe I would be able to help, though I am no guitar god like Nightingale. My neurological issues and multiple head injuries seem to limit me in that way, though I work each day to overcome it. I know we ust have tried to work together in recent times, but I have actually completed a couple of collaboration projects in recent months.

Your work is always inspiring in a reminiscent way, like something I would have been obsessed with ten years ago. To hear something like that now is almost like a dream, like most things I indulge in deeply. Thank you for sharing it. I am going to fave, and await an update or a contact!

Hello Spiv,

I took time to answer you for two reasons:
first, because you wrote me a long long comment and i wanted to be sure to well understand all the meaning! You took care of delivering me your feeling in detail and it is very considerable.
second, because i wanted to wait a little after Nightingale. I don't have any answer from him adn as you said, he seems to have gone underground actually!

This track will be updated after our collab if you're always agree spiv? It's a great honor for me and first time too with a collab! so, what do you need exactly for a confort work?

On my side, I shall like that the guitar begins evolving after the resumption of the break (after 1:36). Free court in your feeling and in your imagination to slide me long and stabbing sounds. This guitar is the leader in the piece thus its expression is free. Just if we can preserve the sound grain and the reverberation or approach it?

As i said you, first time for a distant collab so tellme what you need ;)

I'm really excited by this common work, particularly with someone from who i admire his work :)

Great work so far, I really like where this is going. The electric guitar sounds rad but yeah, does need variations, maybe a wicked breakout solo. Looking forward to the final!

I like the idea a lot, reminds me of late 80's electronic alt rock. Amy Mann(Till Tuesday) would sound great vocalizing on this track. The electric guitar has a big spacial sound to it, gives the song lift and a very cool change within what you have so far. I'm a bass player but there are very capable guitar players here, hope it all works out and you can get the arrangement you are looking for!

Super groovy and unusual piece you've created here! I didn't look at the genre before pressing play, but I definitely began to think "deep house." The combination of the funky bass groove and the vocal samples definitely gives the right impression. For some reason this song makes me think of the music which Mosaic made (makes?). He seems to have disappeared. Totally meant as a compliment though. This has a cool pop, clubby feel to it, which would fit in anywhere that people are chilling out, or for a break in the hardcore dancing. This is sonically interesting, with a nice depth of range. I enjoyed it much!

hello Spiv!

I didn't see your comment before, i'm sorry!
you're right about Mosaic there's some similarities between his work and mine sometimes.

when i worked on this track, i wanted to have a summer render for people who have a drink near the beach with friends.
you caught the song spirit and i'm glad if you enjoyed it ;)
thanks for your comment my friend :)

Sheeps! ! ! Oh and tabla as well! Nice! Classic sounding dub reggae when the bass drops. I'm diggin it! If I still had a radio show, this would be something which I'd play as well... darn the handling of audio clips on FL 12!! This is going all to well with my strong buzz for the time of day... it just feels right. Taking advantage of the time of year before they historically begin using toxic herbicides to do some naturalism and wildcrafting this morning, and it's always good to come home and hear great songs on looperman. This is one of them! Fave! Thank you for the DL!

You captured that era, and that film with beauty and grace. signature acid filters, but a very tech-house beat and sound that just solidifies the genre. great work. nice mix, good separation of bass and high notes. gets to the point and drills it home. Nice break @ 2:43. good work Bleep

I couldn't tell you the first thing about what separates acid from any other electronic genre but I can tell you what I liked about the song. Firstly I noticed the vocal, cool catchy vocal sample, is that you? Pretty upbeat track, drums drive it and the electronic noises add a tense, erratic feel. Would be cool in a tech/sci-fi movie thriller.

Brainspotting, a nice play on the title of a cool movie which is quite similar sounding. ;) No tone or loudness button here, just a easily turn-able volume knob, sounds great turned up too!

for the vocal sample, it's not my own voice and believe me, I save you from very crual sufferings lol

for the title, you're right, it was a wink to Trainspotting, a cult movie for me :)

thanks for your positive comment and your feeling after listening! it's very appreciate!

Hi, Bleep,
I wouldn't normally go out of my way to listen to Acid tracks. However, saying that I like to think that I'm very open minded in regards to different genres of music. Therefore, you've got my attention with this track. Great work.

Peace.

Hello Bandido!
Glad to read you're open minded too and i'm happy if you enjoyed what you heard :)

i don't like to stay in a particular genre, i'd rather navigate between everything which create inside me emotion! (i hope my answer is not plenty of mistakes lol)

OMG It's today... is it possible that I am in phase right now?! I started listening without looking, and though "ACID." There it was in the genre listening, so thank you for that! Such super trippy and engaging sound design here, with some old style flair! Intense and groovy stuff. Seems like just what I needed to hear right now, so I appreciate the share! I will definitely be faving and downloading this!

hello Spiv!
Glad you enjoyed this track! it's the same for me when i discovered one of yours in the same way (written in 2014). Curiously, i needed to go back in this style when i watched again the movie "trainspotting". I said "curiously" because in fact there's no link between trainspotting and acid music but can we always explain ours choices? lolll

Thanks for your positive comment which is really appreciate :)

DubSmockers
DubSmockers replied 15th Apr 2017 - 9 years ago
Tekreck, i hope i will find the right words first to apologize because, sincerely, i thought your first message was'nt a real question but a kind of contemptuous and concealed of mockery! i understand now that you were sincere in your interrogation. Let me again offer my apologies.
In the other hand, let me explain you why i reacted like that: in france, my country, and may be in others countries?, how many times i heard people said: "electronic music? it's only #####, without creativity, it's so easy to make a track" and these people are wrong. nothing is easy... in my first answer i took time to give you my feeling about electronik music :)

One more time, i apologize and i swear you i'm not arrogant! Looperman is a wonderfull place not only for sharing music but ideas, feelings and technic too!

When you make a track like this... What is the thought process for creativity ?
DubSmockers
DubSmockers replied 15th Apr 2017 - 9 years ago

Amicalement
