I added this as a fav since I love the tones you use.
I would suggest compressing the loop with the snare on it. The whole track could use a bit more level adjustments. The tones are very good, but I hear the balance between them could be a tad better. You may want to try listening to the mix at an extremely low level in mono. This will show you which elements/instruments need to come down in the mix.
Overall mixing is a skill you will hone easily. The creative work you are doing here is what draws me to your stuff. Good stuff!
thanks very much, i appreciate your review. i have to agree that if anything lets me down its my mastering skills, but im sure with time they will come. thanks for the tips ill be sure to try it out. again, i always appreciate the reviews
Keep it true to the Welsh rooooooooooooooootssssssssssssss!
Lol.
I like the track dude, though I think the kick could be a bit bassier, nah mean?
Mebbe you should through in some samples of Welsh hymns? I dunno, it could work, if done right =).
Hook me up when it's finished bro.
Peace.
Kii.
heh! whered you get that sample from heh? You ever heard of Sukh Knight? He's a kind of bangra DJ but he's really good. Anyway he did a similar song.
Bloody good song, although the levels are quite bad, i've got my speakers on loud and its just clipping quite alot :( Turn it down and the bass is quite nice. But the end of the sample distorts somewhat, im not sure what your using in fruity, but maybe just turn the levels down a bit?
That 'roar' (or what ever it is, sounds like a stretched bass hit or something) is way to loud, i know you wanna make loud bassy music but a good key is to make everything kinda quiet (standard law dictates that bass drum is the only thing that shuld be 0db, bassline -5db, percussion -10db!) and just let the listener turn it up themselves.
Apart from the levels a good song. Donbang was right, its well arranged and the synths sound good and professional. Just hava nother look at the levels when you get time :)
thanks for the review mate!
yeah this sample came from the Sukh Knight remix, was hoping nobody would notice :p. as to the levels.. i made this last night accompanied by a rather fat bag of green so as usual when i make a song stoned, it turns out pretty good but the levels are all over the place. will get this one sorted though at some point. thanks again.
Everytime I check out one of your tunes, I always tell myself I need to check out more and I never do until I chance upon one again on the Tracks page. I'm not really familiar with dubstep outside of what I've heard from you but I can see myself becoming a fan.
Your arrangements are great. Even when this gets to the sonic assault parts of the track, I don't find myself wincing. Just closing my eyes and nodding uncontrollably hard.
thanks mate, you should check out some more dubstep its great stuff. id recommend looking for KOAN SOUND, 501, and have a search from there.
thanks for the review.
its nice that every dub lover on here is trying to expand the step to something different than rather keepin the same thus making very similar music WE WILL TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL by the way i like this tune it kinda sounds like the bass is alive lol

I liked the begining, started off really well and actually sounded properly produced i must say, Im not sold on the snare, you tend to like your damp'd snares dont you?
Good song though. You've got a bit of distortion towards the middle somewhere, are you using Maximus on the main FX channel?
Glad Massive has worked out for you. It 's playing kinda weird through the old phones tho. Not sure if those saw basslines are tweaking up the output or not, but that's the only thing I've noticed.
for the wobble bass its massive, just used a few presets and tweaked them to my liking, and for the sub bass one called FreeAlpha. free vst, fuckin awesome for sub basses.
thanks for the review man
I listend to the track and its very different. But in a good way. I really never heard of dub but ite reminds me of something santogold would do. Only thing I would suggest is make the vocals a little louder then the bass because at times you wanna hear what shes singing. Other then that keep the hits bangin!
that particular frequency, when heard you shit your pants uncontrollably! "uh sorry mmmmm, I'll be right back! gotta clean up!" sure did stress test my headphones! killer.............G
kept it intrestin, which i like. filtered vocal and drum loops were nice, had a nice transition towards the middle. overall a really nice track, keep it up! -Lorin xD
I cant decide whether i prefer the intro sorta bassline or the main variation like after the drop mate. But even so i fucking love the like last bar or so of the bassline if you know what i mean. Oh and nice clean beat also mate.
I remember how much I want to get into dubstep every time I hear a track. I love the phat bass.
As for the sample, I think you might be able to argue it under fair use since it's "educational" in purpose and not for profit, but from what I recall, samples are very hard to claim fair use on due to the deliberate nature of sampling. [N.B. I am only a lawyer when I'm sitting in my favorite armchair.]
Ok here's your jah tip bro. Play with that automation track on the saw synth line and get some crazy sweep int the lfo speed every 4 bars. You know so the ZzzZzzZzzZzzZzz starts to go ZZzZZzZZzZZz and the Z!Z!Z!Z!Z!
