Hey, this is pretty good stuff. There's a guy on here called Valvedriver who would probably like this. And you'd also probably like some of his music.
I like the vibe right from the start. Dark but not really too dark. With that beat I guess it's kind of industrial techno.
0:38 synth that joins in with the guitar is cool and works well off it.
One criticism of the track in general is that it seems to be based around the same root bassline. You do quite a lot of good, well-produced stuff on top of it but it starts to feel a bit samey after a while for me so I'd suggest changing that riff. Doesn't have to be a key change, just some other bassline.
Other than that, it's a good collection of sounds that fit well together in a track people could dance to. I'm guessing you're not playing guitar here but I could be wrong (you didn't say).
I think this would be great music for sitting around smoking something strong in a hookah lounge! i love what you do with percs. really inspiring. i'm not good at genre ID but I was falling into a bit of a trance with this one. the word combos are pretty out there. made out "devil" and "jesus" and "bake me" (? not sure on that one!) nice work!
Thanks, glad you like it. There's Jesus, The devil, In love with the world, Please fasten your seat belts...... but Bake me?! Not so sure, lol. Would be fitting though :D
Hey Tim. I was looking out for the thunderstorm. Just curious what did you use to record the thunderstorm with - mobile phone/ Dictaphone? Was it when you were out surveying? I've been thinking of doing the same when I go out on my walks - the sounds of nature. Anyway a great track mate. Tim's sweet serenade for the beloved Deptford.
Thanks Billy, actually it was a headset mike hooked up to a laptop. It was in Deptford Park, sometimes they leave it unlocked on summer nights. Good idea with the walks. Nature has some amazing sounds to capture. Good luck with that. Rock on \m/
hi Tim, very good track. For sure no so much from my preffered stylistic zone but I like the production. The kind of d&b reminds me of some tracks by GramoChopin - you may check out some of his works if you like.
I like the ambient strangeness from about 0:56 - it appears again later in the track.
It is very nice put together - you have really good taste when comes to combine loops!
Nice day, Alex
Cheers Alex, it's playing now! I wonder what that was? He he, I like weird. Glad you like it. I have a few more D&B's. They were a side project and a different album. An experiment as D&B's not normally my style. It's good to get out of your comfort zone sometimes though ;)
hi again. I noticed you'are using the same interesting panning technique here as well. This kraftwerk-like synth sequence is again loop or you also create synth lines like this?
The vocals are nicely blended into the recording.
It is a kind of experimental track with some interesting story behind it. Very special music, not easy-listening but I like it. Alex
They're loops I made from sampling Download. I love the way you can pan things using Acid Pro. I have great fun creating the panning envelopes and placing sounds exactly where I want them to be :)
hi again. There is so much going on here regarding to musical events of course - I like the movement of drums and the panning you added to them. You could label it 'chillout' as well cause it has some nice chord progression throughout.
I love it's atmosphere and weirdness: the part with the rain reminds me a bit of 'Somnium' by Robert Rich.
Thanks Alex. This is actually one of my personal favourites. It's quite emotive thinking back to that night and some of the tings that happened. It was also a lot of work. Trying to keep such a long song interesting is quite a challenge. You're right with the labeling, I'm always wondering what genre I should put it in. :)
This is definitely a dark-coloured music. Just like your 'Dark-Dub'.
I really like the sound-image of this song. The arpeggiated synth-line which drives entire track is excellent - very good old-electronic vibes! I like that!
Nice mixture of latin drumming, old school synths and some strange industrial noises.
I find your work here very creative - really good work on this one!
Alex
Thanks Alex. The 80's were my time being born in 61. I DJ'd all the way through them (and half of the 90's). So it's no wonder they left their mark on me. I've always loved electronic, right back to early Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Tim Blake etc. but when Industrial kicked in I fell in love, lol. There's a lot more on its way :)
nice work - very strange and unsettling atmosphere. I really like the dark-ambient kind of things. This one reminds me of Lustmord's works. There's some album from Rich/Lustmord called 'Stalker' which is probably my favourite ever of this genre. Your work is really good! I find myself listening really closely - it just keeps my attention! Great Dark Ambient! Alex
Thanks Alex. I do have a version of this with lyrics that I will be posting at some point. It's about suffering from PTSD. Not exactly fluffy bunny stuff, lol. Love Lustmord so high praise indeed, thank you :)
Haha a very original title I say.
And the music itself is perfect to describe a hermit, a self sufficient hobo who lives by himself without a care in the world. That guitar at the end took me by surprise. Keep up the creative expression brother DD. - B
misty mornings to baked evenings then followed by mystic nights all in one kind of deal. Does give off an impression of open air expression. Imagination translate this sound work into a few scenes for me. I can imagine this being heard in visual works as well. A painters plate of colors.
I am liking how you did the bass here, the atmospheric sounds are nicely done which makes the track more than it appears. The space you seem to control shares a view of the open air, indeed a serenade here. This is a nice ambient mix, listened a couple times now. Interesting sounds and thanks for sharing it here. Something about it keeps saying Perfect Dark. Keep at it, Peace.
Thanks. It was great fun standing in the summer rain with a couple of microphones. I think passer by's thought I was crazy! (which no doubt I am ;) )Glad you enjoyed it :)

I've asked this question myself and I dont think anyone has the answer. And if someone says they do, they are full of it.
