This is an interesting piece. It's like The Art Of Noise mixed with The Crystal Method and a dash of Tom Waits. I'm guessing, based only on this track alone, that you're an old school industrial/electro kind of guy.
I'm curious, though, was the lack of percussion a conscious choice?
Thanx V, yes I'm an old school electronic fan right back to Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, etc. I love experimenting so yes it was a conscious choice. Glad you liked it :) TT
hi, it's pretty funky. you might only consider developing some melodic themes... or taking off the excessive and crazy panning... or just running the drums next time and building the entire song around it which is always a good start.
I don't think 'why' is a correct question at all.
hope you don't mind this comment haha.
I liked the track. alex
I agree with Alex, it's kinda funky. That bassline holds it together. Love the that old school drumbeats too. Brings back memories of my DNB days. Is the track at 180bpm?
Thanks Billy, I can't remember the BPM exactly and all the originals (masters) got destroyed a while back so I can't go back and check. Thanks for the youtube link. Hilarious. TT
hey, I love the speed of this track - the bassline is kind of funky. dreamy vocals! very nice syhth pad(?)echoing the vocals at 2:48... but the entire song sounds to me like filtered or something like that - simply so different from the sound-image I get on my tracks!
I enjoyed your production. Alex
Thanks Alex. The vocals are a friend of a friend. I don't know if you've heard of Sheep On Drugs? I'm good friends with Lee, the bloke that writes most of the songs and plays and produces the music. She turned up with him one day just before I'd finished doing the D&B tracks of mine. I was listening to the latest mixes of them and she said, "I like this, who is it?" When I said "Me" she offered to sing on them. So she ended up singing on "Love n Hate" and this one. Then she disappeared! Otherwise we'd have probably done more together as I love her voice and she was so easy to work with. Both tracks were finished with just 3 takes each! Lee lost touch with her as well, sadly, so that was that. The only effect on the voice is reverb. A touch of echo here and there too.
Thanks Alex. This track was planned from the very beginning to have vocals. It was a task I set myself as all my other tracks are instrumental, or the vocals were just an afterthought. I wanted to see if I could write music for someone who wanted a song to sing on but never found anyone to do it, lol. TT
hey, this is a kind of a dreamy track, very soft and relaxing - I really like the vibes. NIce vocals and funky bassline, good choice with these long reverbs and laser sounds, interesting atmosphere. I enjoyed it. Alex
Sick work man, agree with everyone else. Really stellar work, I'ma be sure to bring my A++ game when I finish my latest track. Sick work with the drums and sound in general. I'll be listening to your track and then this later on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WwiOoTQiPo True dnb right here, can only imagine what a 320 would sound like. Excellent production, peace
Sort of a dark ambient dnb track. I've tried to make a ambient dnb track a while back but it seems you beat me to it. This sounds like it's at a low bitrate or the mix could just use a bit more punch. Instruments are still well distinguished however. Those echoing synths and that electrifying reece synth is nice. Mystical sounding production. The vox is a nice touch. Funny at times. Keep em coming, peace
Thank you for your comments. Sadly all the original recordings got destroyed so I can't go back and remaster them. Glad you enjoyed it and I look forward to your ambient dub track. Give me a nudge when you've created one. I've had a listen to some of your material and liked it. I'll definitely be revisiting your page. Rock on :)
I think the title for the tune is completely 100% spot on - cos I sorta think the genre is not definite and is confusing. The song overall is a nice blend of the genres stated in the description, so well done for that.
hmm, very different for me but still catches my ear in a good way... kind of reminds me of the work of renowned producer RamesesB . Great job here . Can't wait to see whats next... :) -EazyBeatz-
Thanks EazyBeatz, there's a lot more coming so watch this space ;) The D&B was a side project so not much of that left but there's quite a few more Electronic/Industrial tracks.
