Hi.

I like your simple, chilled intro.

My main problem with the track is that I'm not sure Biggie's vocal style fits your tropical chill style. Something just doesn't feel right about it.

1:50 synth comes to the fore. Good delay and reverb on that a nice, dreamy melody.

I'm meant to say for a while that I'm impressed with your music in general based on how little time you say you've been doing it.

No complaints about the music here, just that its vibe doesn't seem to fit the timbre/mood/emotion/vibe of the vocal. Other people will strongly disagree but that's opinions for you.

Tropical greetings, as always.

Hey static,
This really was my main concern with the track. I tried to make the piano chords more somber an "dark" because of this, rather than the usual bright and happy chords of tropical house. I mean i think it works but I guess it is just one of those things htats going to be left up to opinion.

Thanks so much for the compliment! I've been working really hard the past few months(wow it must be getting close to a whole year at this point) to make my music as good as it possibly can be. Still putting in the 10-12 hours of producing a day, but sadly, I start college tomorrow so most of my time is going to be full now. But that's life I guess. Thanks for all the support as always static!

Wow, the start is definitely really crisp and airy.

The vocal sounds a little too thick and muddy. I think a low-cut and a slight boost in the higher frequencies will help sharpen out the vocals. Also, maybe trying to add a stereo delay instead of a mono delay might help de-clutter the vocal.

I think the instrumental is amazing, as always though. I can't wait to hear the finished version, and I'm being serious about that. The solo after his first segment is really cool, but maybe you can toy with another sound? I feel like you could make an already catchy solo melody even better with a different sound.

Overall, it's a great start.

Nice melodies in this. Pleasant listening. Great for the morning. Digging the guitar and how everything fits in the mix. Not much to complain about.

Very nice song but it's not folk. Folk music is done with traditional acoustic bluegrass instruments and most often with singing. Folk doesn't involve that type of drums either, usually played with no drums. Synths and fake hand claps aren't used in folk music either. This is electronic music with an acoustic guitar track in it, maybe pop.

With that being said, it doesn't mean I don't like it, I really like it. The vibe is light, fresh, airy, a bit Celtic with the tin whistle and the down beat. There are some nice melodies and I like the selection of sounds you used. Well done!

ahh this is so chill. another winner you've got here.
Your the master at chill/tropical remixes.. maybe kygo has that honer.. ok your the second best haha.
Loving that echoey whistle synth thing btw.

You said your looking for some ways you could improve. The only thing i noticed during listening is the drum in the buildup to the chorus seems too prominent, maybe its too dry maybe give it a little reverb or something and drop the volume...
But thats me really nitpicking haha

Awesome track man! keep it up!

:)

great start!

Also, just listened to the original - that guy is good!

I noticed that the vocals pop out more in the original compared to your mix. I think it's just cus you have more going on in the low end of your mix... SO maybe slightly eq down the low end of the vocals and slightly eq the high ends up :D because right now it sounds a bit muddy

other than that it sound great! those builds at 1:10 and 3:13 work well in this mix but they have been so overdone - - - just saying :)

I think with a proper mix-down, this will sound awesome. There are some percussion instruments that are too loud/flat sounding but I'd imagine that can be fixed with the proper treatment. I would suggest trying to make the vocals larger via reverb and/or delay. It feels a little too stiffly dropped in the middle and doesn't quite match the large feeling of the overall song.

But the instrumentation is really cool. I dig it. Good work. I look forward to hearing a finished product of this one.

I think something like a splash to help climax the sections at 1:37 and 3:30 would help as well, it's a little disappointing as it feels like it's going to get louder and there's nothing there to satisfy the listener's attention haha.

Tropical greetings to thee.

Cool guitar sample and fat kick/clap intro.

All the guitar work in my many tracks is made up from unwanted riffs and solos and general neck noodling from people such as David Gilmour, Slash and James Hetfield. I just whip them into some sort of decent shape after collecting them from the trash outside these classic guitarists' houses.

Everything's sitting nicely in the first 30 secs and good swooshing delay to take us into the first breakdown. Then a good programmed, percussive synth part and the delayed return of that guitar part.

Beat's gotta come back big and strong. But you delay it to introduce a new synth part and then do a typical dance fill around 1:40 before bringing it back. Then another breakdown though I feel 1:45-2:20 should be quite a big longer.

You've built energy up there but then you take it away only 45 secs later. And then build it up again for a while, with more obvious bongo type of percussion.

So, I think there's a bit too much building up and not enough stomping grooving away so altering that arrangement might help quite a bit.

Good stuff anyway - clean sounds and pretty well mixed.
