Pretty ambitious idea, it must have take some time to listen to and choose from all the samples here at the loop. I tip my hat for the effort and the whole concept behind the song. Funky, danceable beat and some interesting effects on the vox and some cool sounds used. Nice job!

Funnily enough my bass sound too cut.
Work on kicks when hit with bass lose their strength.
Mastering or arrangement is pretty good. You used a lot of the sounds that are very good maybe he needs a little more work. As a whole this Track is good.

Thx 4 kind words. Yeah percussion is the thing... try gettin better. Maybe its because the compressors sidechain/ducking timing is wrong, just started using a calculator und it seems to work a lot better on first tries. We ll see.
Again thanks 4 takin time and leave some constructive comment...

Very nice dark sounds you got into that track that went great with the vocals. One tip for future tracks (you may have done it but I am not sure) try panning percussion a bit to the left or right for a more ambient feeling in the track. Thanks for sharing ;)

honkytonk replied 28th Dec 2013 - 11 years ago
Yeah you re right, percussion is a thing that im not so patient with. prefer screwin the knobs, hehe... so if someone has fun in polishin it - go for it :) Most tracks i dont work out longer than 10 hours our so, theres notime for doin fine beats, but its something that i can do live instantly in the same quality with hardware ;), my liveshots are done within half an hour so ;) Thats what i m lookin for - if someone says hey, lets do it better - why not :)

Cool, cool, I started around the time the Streets came out so yeah I was influenced by him and the likes of the time. I have hundreds of vocals and try to upload some every so often so if you hear one you like it would be great if you could do some production on

See you in a bit

This is sweet! I love that transition about 35 seconds in, very smooth and full of feeling! Never heard DnB quite like this! I can really get into the syncopation you've created in this! Uplifting and dark at the same time! I dig it! Faved for sure!

This is sweet because it's just slow enough to be close to the realm of dub! Nice drop in the middle too! Confusingly original rhythms, which compliment the vocals much! Great mixing on the wobble basses too, they stand out at just the right time! Another killer track! Faved for sure!

I'm having trouble remembering, but I think I'm listening to V2 now, it seems quite different to me, so it must be! This is crazy cool! Puts me in mind of CEvin Key, if you have heard of him... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CEvin_Key Was a big influence on my early forays into electronic music. Your tracks are a great addition to Looperman! Thanks for keeping in touch with me!

This is surely something a bit different for me. I like it, all the great glitchy noises and effects really make the track interesting. Mix sounds good, nice job!

Thx 4 kind words m8! Thats what i think: no big "sound" needed, if groove and intention fits ;) recorded just the sum in mono, through the valves at high level (guess 30-40%) and no panning at all, lol. reworking it now a little in ableton, to get some crossover of that dirty oldschool groovebox style (lol that times when bands earned hundredthousands of $ with some cheap mc-303 sounds, only cause it was new to people) and some better quality sounds. gonna add a "V2" ;) so stay tuned!

Hey thanks for the heads up on this track! I'm really enjoying it! Some jammin sounds you used! When it comes back after the minimal break, it's really phat! Fun song for sure! I'm going to fave and DL this, and maybe play it on my http://www.loopradio.net/ show if that's okay!

This is fantastic! I love that delayed synthy sound that happens regularly! The bass with the changing envelope is very dynamic and powerful! I like your style of DnB, it seems very spontaneous! Deep track man! Faved for sure!

This is pretty damn cool! Definitely a deep sound for a live experiment! You've made a really nice low end tone! I forgot this machine has tubes in it, that's so cool! 161 BPM seems to be nice tempo for DnB, haven't heard much at that rate. I like the part that starts around 5:00 very trippy! Tight track! Faved for sure!
honkytonk
honkytonk replied 12th Dec 2013 - 11 years ago
Just saw u made this excessive upload session, gonna check that by time - lots of action last days... i'll take em and let my tribe r#pe em ;) Me and the tubes were warming up first 4 minustes, hehe - like it from there, but didnt wanna cut, cause it was one closed session without reworking. Will upload more of that - after while of trying producing - i just want to make some terror ;)
Have to recalibrate the tubes, cause one is louder on lower levels and it sounds too ugly with too much tubegain...

Thx 4 listening m8, appreciate yo comments...

I've never used an electribe but I can tell from your tune that its got a fat analogue sound. Perhaps you could record it and upload some of the sounds up here for the looperfam ;)
honkytonk
honkytonk replied 11th Dec 2013 - 11 years ago
Love that valvesound (till 20% they are nice, more than that makes it a noisy beast)...
Problem is, that it started as a test - and so i recorded the sum, erased several times today, to test some fillingcombinations. Next time, i ll use the other outs too, so i get a synth and rhytmpart, which i ll slice and select best parts for upload. Sorry 4 that m8 :( There are some parts in the second half i really like. Gonna check if i made an esx dump, but dont think so...

Slowdowns done with Triggereffekt of freewaretool dblue Glitch. Needs little adjusting, but then its real great, i like it, though maybe its been used too excessive in the past...
