I've never been moved so much by a composition on this site as i just was with this track. thank you for writing this. this is not only a major achievement for you but for your muse. not only can you say you did this, but he can say he inspired this from one's soul. THANK YOU for this. this is beautiful. this is art at it's purest form. THIS... is music. thank you.
My dear friend, your generosity is incredible ! I really don't remember if I ever received such a favourable feedback! Honestly I'm pleasantly surprised cause I don't think I deserve such a praise, yet I'm hugely grateful and happy for it!:) I certainly won't forget your kindness over night....thank you so much !:)
Wow powerful!
It hit my sadness button.
So so sad.
So many tears have been shed by so many people in this scene but at last it's over.
It will probably never be the same but at least it's over now.
Brilliant.
No no no I don't think the word brilliant is right here.
It some how takes away from the pain of the piece.
I'm lacking the vocabulary to use a different descriptive wor/phrase .... I'll be back.
Very interesting reaction I wouldn't think of..I mean, do
you really find it so immensely sad? In fact you're the first reviewer to mention sadness and even strongly emphasizing it ! I agree there are apparent waves of melancholy but I really wouldn't think of overwhelming sadness...Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely excited about your observation cauae it makes me really curious now and I would be glad to hear some more about your view...afteral you're saying you will be back...and you are most welcome my friend..:)
This is a gorgeous track. You have that magical touch that allows the ambient sounds to softly shift in a way that feels natural. I often find that composing and producing a track feels like sculpting, but your approach has a different feel, more like nursing a sound, letting it grow. This is an excellent example of that.
I really like your idea of sculpting and nursing the sound
and I think you have a good point here, cause I feel almost exactly the same about my own approach to making music !
Many thanks for this lovely feedback and the 'fav'...means
alot !:)
What a nice tribute to Ed! You guys are quite talented in your own ways and when working together you seem to be seamless and on the same page. Very cinematic piece, expected to hear the Highlander or a Braveheart movie snippet on top somewhere. :) Ambient is a cool choice, like a kaleidoscope for the ears.
"it's full of orlandesque crap" Nonsense, this is good shit!
Always a pleasure to listen to your creations. Thanks for putting this up for dl!
Hey mate...great you stopped by for this one!:) I had in mind something for Ed for a long time , but just now I acomplished it... and I always felt it was a long overdue.
Yeah, I think it's as much cinematic as is ambient, those two areas I almost always wander around. I'm glad you found some "good shit" in there...haha...:)
Thanks alot for listening, commenting, faving and downloading....means the world!:)
Ambiance would best describe this track.Could be great for a movie soundtrack though.I'm not sure what genre is this but it came out nicely as intended.Great combination of different instr well done
Hello Lechina....many thanks for stopping by to listen and comment...and I aggre that this one could be assigned to more than one genre! I have placed it under "ambient" though...:) Thank you for liking it!
A dreamy state of mind, indeed, my friend. Really fine job and some outstanding sounds you got from your instruments. Always love checking out your stuff.
This song is graceful, haunting, sentimental and touching with just a slight air of detachment. A Beautiful work of art.
It reminded me of three different artists songs that you may or may not be aware of as they were never truly mainstream artists but nevertheless there are elements in those three songs that you captured in one song which struck me.
The first is from Ultravox and is an instrumental called Astradyne which starts there colossal album Vienna. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-kVZsO1GCk
The second is an African artist from senegal named Babba Maal and his song playing the guitar like instrument called a Kora and acoustic guitar. I find his music has an irish like tone similar in some of the works. Especially in his song Souka Naya. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqPFQGF-sRM&index=32&list=PLF9F9ll40VBF6lJdPJhRqkbUx5Ep6XaDl
And the last song is from Phil Manzanera, the guitarist of Roxy Music in his solo work made this extrodinary synth based ambient song called Europe 70-1, which starts out a bright and hopeful and cheery but becomes ambient and sentimental. it was the first time I heard analogue synths convey emotion . As you have done in your own work my friend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAAVdtmXAMA
cheers
Steve
Hi Steve...thank you so much for all the generous words!
Mentioning some of my personal favourite bands and artists
like Ultravox and Roxy's lad Manzanera is an excitement on its own...Thanks alot for the links...I will certainly check them out !:)
wow...what a nice surprise to log in and discover this one after being away a while...,I am honoured Orlando my friend...but you give me too much credit...although I do congratulate myself for knowing what a unique talent I had the opportunity to meet along the music road....yes, a nice subtle hint of that Celtic vibe (like a faint drone of the pipes on a far away hill)...a most enjoyable journey that evolves along its part through the mists of time, delivered with your always special signature and pristene production...keep that violin tuned up...it is a special instrument in your hands...(especially in that little outro part)....Thank you Orlando...a very special track indeed...Ed
Hi Joe....always good to hear from you! Just don't keep your eyes closed for too long...you might have a nasty accident and I would feel guilty then...haha...Joke aside, I'm grateful yet once again for this friendly feedback...as always! Also many thanks for encouragment about upcoming
Ed's feedback....I'm trembling..:)
This song (as all of yours) was made by the special maximalism and professionalism which is called 'orlandesque' attitude...every second of the flow made with small, short but effective fxes...the pad what leads through the whole number is ethereal and magical...
I'm not an Irish rooted guy :-) but if you mean that short, last part from around 5.40 is very beautiful...
All in all, Ed will be proud of his Slovenian magus...:-)
Hola, my friend....I'm so glad you're the first one to review this track, cause I always receive a nice dose of encouragement from you and so was from day one! I will also never forget you were the very first person to review my track when I did my first upload ever on Loopey more than two years ago, and it was such a relief, cause I really didn't know what to expect...and the feeling was blissful!
Thanks alot again for all this friendly support !
Nice golden oldie. You have a lot of magic in your musical treasure chest :-). Nice flow and very basic synths. In this track the small accents make the track(like the triangle for instance). Definetly enjoyed the listen!
Hey, sorry I missed this one when you posted it, must have been during one of my blackouts! hehe Sounds like a piece from a Stanley Kubrick film, especially the first half.
I've never been to the desert and have always wanted to go. I get an ocean sunrise every day so I imagined that instead. The second half had sort of an Asian feel with the plucked instruments. I did get the feeling of discovery, a new day dawning even though there seemed to be some darker moments or tension in there as well.
Cool piece Orlando, it's open to many interpretation and it seems to be a hit as well!
Many thanks for this positive feedback! I'm on a very tight schedules lately so my new material will have to wait for a while to be uploaded, so I decided to give some more exposure to some oldies in the meantime and so I picked this one for no particularly good reason apart from the fact that it wasn't played too extensively before..:) Also thanks alot for faving it !:)
hi orlano,
listening to your track after a long time.
This was on a different trajectory it seems, needed some time to get hold of it tho.
Anyways it's still a greatly produced track with all the right vibes in place
thanks for the track

Hey Orlando, this is truly wonderous my friend!Picture myself miles from home sitting by a small lake surrounded by overhanging trees with abandoned decayed small boats.Your music always paints a picture for me which no other on here can touch. So intricate, minimal and musical.Take care.
