Hello Stevejaz,
I love the way you play guitar. I am afraid I am not ggod at working with the loops but might you be interested in making the whole songs with me? You can find my work on youtube, canette3frostie, for example Blue Bossa Nova Steampunk album, and many others.
If you are interested and fast, I am right now looking for a guitear for tango that must be finished this week, but would be happy if you reply for any other opportunity. :-)
Have a nice day!
Best wishes,
Katerina
Hi Katerina
Thanks and glad you like it. Was suggesting working whole songs rather than loops. Loops are good for some uses but limited. I will look for your stuff on Youtube.' Blue Bossa' I know but don't know anything about 'steampunk' other than some weird calendar art I have seen, so I am a little unsure just what you will be wanting. Basically I can cover acoustic (Gibson), electric (PRS Hollowbody and USA deluxe Strat, and your basic Jazz on my new (cheapie) 'The Loar' arch top.I am much better at the groove based rhythmic stuff than the thread head lead. I am guessing once I hear your stuff I will have a better idea. I week is a tight deadline but I'll give it a go if I think I can do it. Seems you are rather prolific then. :)
Cheers;

LOL.. Some random Guy.
I love what you did with the pitch change. It is always nice to hear someone's take on what I have posted so thanks for sharing this. I would be interested in working with you to develop this if you are interested. I think there is a chance of developing a nice track from this. Variations, Bass line etc. Get back to me if you are interested. I think I can hear a melody line in there for vocals too.
THANK YOU . FOR THE MERE FACT OF INTRODUCING PEOPLE TO MODES.Modes help you under stand scale key and signitures, It then seperates tempo and its importance. My dream is to have NO person SUBMIT a loop in which they do not know the key in which they play.. that drives me crazy.. HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT KEY YOU ARE IN????
I played guitar for many years without a clue when it comes to keys, modes and music theory. Modes are a bit tricky to get your head around and in the end I just feel that if people like the sound of something I post and find a way to use it that's enough. The real fun with modes begins with modes of the melodic and harmonies minor. I might post something like that soon. Hang on I already have. I think I posted the Jazz vehicle in both Harmonic and melodic minor. If you take those loops and shift the start point that's exactly what you get.
The Jazz vehicle is a 1,4,7,3,6,2,5,1 progression ( moves in 4ths)
Assuming the progression is in the key of C minor, if you start the shifted loop from the 3rd chord ( the 7 chord) you get a Jazz vehicle in the key of B superlocrian (also called the 'altered scale as it contains all the altered notes... # and flat 5th and 9th along with the root, 3rd and flat 7th)
Given that in a Jazz context you would use that over the 5th degree chord, that would put you in the key of E.
Following so far?
I did say it was complicated.
My suggestion is always though to play around with things and see what you like the sound of.
Also experiment with shifting the start point of any of those "jazz vehicle" loops.
THAT'S AWESOME
I love the fact you have chopped it up and created your own sound from it.
Listening to some of your stuff on Soundcloud atm
Thanks heaps for the heads up.
Thanks for the heads up. Very smooth sound and nice harmonies. Was sort of expecting a vocal or rap to start but it didn't. I think you could have something really nice and probably marketable if you could record some vocals for it. Maybe invite some else to if it's not your thing. This is definitely the sort of sound I would love to hear my stuff used in. Have a listen to the loop I posted the other day if you have not heard it yet. (Jazz No4) See if it suggests anything to you. Oh and I tried to 'Like' your track on Soundcloud but it is still going slow. Will like and repost when it lets me.
