Description : i love trance . i love house. i love dubstep.
but i also loooooove world music.
i first listened to this track and i thought it could use some oomph. i like to use that word a lot.
shows ya how old i am. it does sound better, though.
Description : An old Scottish Celtic Traditional Folk Song. My dad used to play this one when I was a young lad. The melody always stuck in my head and meant something to me, when I heard it again, it brought back some great memories of my younger days. Funny how music can take you away to another time and place. Music is such a powerful trigger. Anyhow I played all the instruments and sang on this one. Not my usual type of musical fare but I still hope you enjoy it.
Description : Present from my travel in india.... record voice from a friend in pushkar.......Speak about quit Bang....... Hemp drink that Bramans drink......
Description : En Kadhal Solla is a song from the Indian movie "Paiya" (2009).
The son of a friend of mine needed a Karaoke version of this song for a family gathering. She asked if I could remix this for her son. So I added some percussion (conga, kick drum, maracas, hand-claps, etc.).
Description : Not exactly sure what I created here. I used various instruments from around the world so maybe it lives in ethnic.
I may have made it too busy, or maybe it preserves the energy.
Comments appreciated.
Description : Not sure about the sideboards on the Ethnic genre. Trying out new sounds here. I'm using sitar and marimba with Indian and Indonesian drums. Does the listener need a solo or spoken word after the melody or does the open part work by itself?
I think it's a good piece. Almost.
Description : Neil Armstrong, an Oud, sprinkling of Egyptian flavour, walking on the moon and looking at the stars. Seeing red - not green and blue.
i cannot tame
what you are
i cannot fill
that hole in your heart
i cannot be
everyone you ever loved
i cannot be
the perfect girl
that's just not possible
in this world
this world
from here
everything is clear
i see red
only red
i cannot turn you back
into what you were
i cannot make this go away
and if you lie awake
each and every night
wishing on a star
i cannot fill
that hole in your heart
that hole in your heart
breaks my heart
i cannot tame what you are
i cannot fill that hole in your heart
i cannot be every girl you ever loved x 2
in your heart
Description : IV'E JUST UPDATED THIS TRACK WITH SOME HELP FROM VERA KINTER.
This track was entirely written using Wusikstation v6 and additional instruments from Artvera's Wusikstation soundbanks and ArtVera's Golden ASET.
This has an 'Ethnic' feel with a few monks thrown in for good measure. The title comes from part of a speech from Nelson Mandela on his 90th birthday which is the sample on the end of the track.
Description : I hope I will not get sued and thrown in jail - but I really wanted to share my interpretation of Chris Isaak's Wicked Game with you guys.
I recorded this a while ago, and I would like to think I have gotten a little better ... but anyhoot. Maybe you like it, maybe you dont. As always - I welcome all comments / advice, etc.
(As mentioned in my profile - you can properly hear me playing the pennywhistle / indian flute in this - in my other tracks I tend to blend it into the mix in the background)
Description : This is one of my original tracks written using Samplitude about a year ago. It's all loop based which is how I started with a synth lead (brass) at the end. A cross between tangerime dream meets mike oldfield with phil collins on drums!! I still like it even though I dont use loops any more.
Description : this is a short track in my native language (afrikaans). It's a poem written by a poet I admire very much - named Elmari Venter.
It's about healing, and wanting to heal someone.
I hope the sound in the music can convey some sense of what the words are about.
Please let me know if you'd like the translation of the lyrics.
Enjoy!
Description : I used a free Native American chant (Sioux War Dance) I got off the internet as the backing / percussive back track.
The lyrics come from an ad-lib I did over the music, and was recorded in one take! (you can tell, can't you!)
Someone asked me how I came up with the name for this song, and I couldn't tell them it's from closing my eyes and imagining this huge mountain and the red sun setting behind it... (Lame!) Any crit is welcomed. This is my first track upload!
Description : something i threw together trying to make something new. it has "ethnic loops" plus some slap bass on there 8). again"trying new stuff out" review please
Description : This is a Latin -Spanish flavored tune. In fact, I don't see a catagory for it so I put it under 'Ethnic'.
I eat now and then at a 'Mighty Taco' resturant near me and decided to call this one "El Nino". :-)
This tune is kinda off beat for me, but I am sure someone on here will like it. Made from loop a CD I have full of Nylon guitar loops only, I purchased early last year, and put together with other loops and synth for weird effects.
Ha.....maybe I am getting weird since my last tune was heavy metal!
Hope you like it.

Description : Reload (12-16-08) Combo Hip-Hop/Ethnic track that I did recently. I use a lil Tamboura and some more ethnic sounds. The intro is about 40 seconds long then the full beat drops. The 1st Kick sound that comes in on the intro is about 4 different sounds combined to make that 1ne.
The ethnic tunes tracks and mixes listed here are copyright and may not be used in your projects. Saying that though many members are happy to work with other artists or allow others to remix their tracks.
