    This ones worth the wait.
Nice variations to keep it building without repetition and tasteful use of sidechaining. Absolutely love the plucky arp and piano interlude. Very polished production here bro. Big thumbs up.

    Nice track TD.
As ronabo pointed out the vocals are very reminiscent of Aaron Neville who is an RnB icon. Concentrate on Enunciation and singing those words clearly bro. I really enjoyed this track, looking forward to hearing more from you.

Understood, but, I don't write lyrics, I listen to the beat and what comes out is what you get, so maybe that will explain some of the mis-ques. Every track I have listed here is just of the top of the dome, nothing is ever written. I couldn't sing this again word 4 word even if you paid me. It's pure joy and love. Perfection is for the pro's, 4 me it's simply creativity at it' rawness. But that's not to say I won't heed your advance, are try to implement it into my learning, but I put it down when I feel it, or lose it 4 ever. For those who constantly write will say, if you don't get it than, you may never get a second chance!

    I really like this Anno.
Its really subdued compared to most Dubstep nowdays which is refreshing. Nice tastefull and melodic mix. Great job on the synths and the drum track is awesome.

    Reply by Anno861

Well, part of the reason its more melodic is because I haven't figured out how to make a massive screaming saw synth in GarageBand yet, however I'm not really a fan of dubstep with said massive screaming saw. I prefer mostly melodic dubstep, the sounds of people like Gemini and some of SirensCeol's music. Glad you liked it though!

    Nice classic Trance.
Agreed with Steve, kind of sorta reminds me of the Gatecrasher or Ministry stuff around or about 2000. Good driving beat. Especially like the syncopation starting there at 1:10.
Nice choice on the Mariah vox.

ok i just looked at this comment and i must say you have a great viewpoint . i probably wonder if it is the repetitiveness in otherwords- lack of a melody. that sets this tune from others. it probably is what is hindering my progress ....eh?

Not too much Deep House around here.

Didn't mind the vocal but agree that something like maybe some nice female acapella would go over better.

Man I'm way behind on these latest tracks being posted. Some pretty choice stuff has been added recently.

Well, I never freak out on your tracks based on description. Only after I start listening. Cool factor does it for me every time.

The intro reminds me of a band warming up right before a live gig. You know how everybody tends to do their own thing briefly just before going into that first song. Enjoyed that. The one thing that I tripped on listening to this track is the tone setup on the guitar. Very much reminds me of Robin Trower. Yeah its jazzy but I dig the blues rock aspect here, and I really dig Robin Trower so thats what really floated the boat for me. These other guys have pretty much covered everything with some real detailed breakdown, so I will spare you the redundancy.
I know you like the technical commentary and of course I would love to be more critical and exacting on my comments as well but im really not so much into that. Besides you really dont need my help bro. I would hope that you understand that, at least in my case, instead of being your critic, I just want to be your Fan. Which I am.

Hello. I was going to take this off featured tracks last night but kept it for another day so got two more interesting reviews, from yourself and Maffin.

I appreciate all sorts of comments. Don't have to be technical - can be more philosophical, more about the moods and emotions conjured up. Just as long as it's more than "Sweet track, bro" or similar.

Fans can be critics too (thanks again for being my fan) and, even when a piece of music is really well made, it can be fascinating to hear how other people feel about it. That's separate to "please tell me how I can improve this track". I made it so how I feel about is a bit biased. And its hard to separate what I know about how it was made from how it now sounds.

You know I like to give lots of detail in reviews but I feel it's what the site should be about. Helping each other in different ways. If I like something, I usually have lots to say about it.

Maybe I don't need your help as such, but your feelings on my stuff (even if you don't like it, that's fine) is always worth considering and making sense of. You may well have encouraged me to go check out more Robin Trower.

Yes, good point about the intro bass - it's loose and out of time at certain points. That's why I had to chop it up and lose the out of time bits in order to use it as the bassline during a lot of the track. It does sound a bit like a laid back warm up. You'll hear it's even playing at the start of the end rock out section though it then gets replaced by a couple of other basslines.

The blues rock here is hopefully a bit of a surprise and an unusual change from the jazz. I don't know much about Trower though did watch him plus band doing a song back in the day quite recently so bit of a coincidence there.

Yeah, his tone was cool though his playing was a bit samey and boring. I'm sure he's got better stuff.

The two blues rock sections that you get before the end rockout sound like they might be the chorus if this were an actual song with vocals. And then it's fun to drop back down into the swing jazz and that essential bassline.

All the best and see you around on some other tracks (mine and yours).

I have to admit I haven't been keeping up with a lot of people here lately. You've certainly developed some mad production skills SJ. This track is full of wonderful sounds, melodies and effects that you've expertly mixed and mastered. I cant offer much in regards to the vocals other than it seems like Taras timing and pitch sounds spot on to me.
I really dig your style too. Please keep them coming.

Hi and yes, I have the same problem - too many talented people here to keep track of and too many tracks to listen too - where is the time for all that?!

Don't know if I've developed any mad skills though, hahaha!
Half the time I still really don't know what I'm doing...

Well all I can say is lucky for you the lower dimension had a DAW available... AND you possess the uncanny ability to produce music while sleeping.
Its a very enjoyable track, with some nice progression and extremely clean mastering. The synths are undoutedbly a bit strange or even quirky sounding but thats what makes it so good. Very suitable theme song for a cartoon, animated movie or video game soundtrack.

Some really sweet synth progressions in here and that bassline really thumps the subs ever so nicely. I always try to predict which track one will choose to end the song on and you got me here with the vox.

Slide guitar is difficult to use effectively. I love it and hate it. It works really well in this type of song and you certainly know how to play it. What did you do around 5:32 by the way ? It seems to morph from guitar to synth, that is freakin cool man ! I would have loved to heard a little more of that going back and forth.

    Awesome groove here bro.

Always something cool happening in Nomads land.
    Keep em comin man.

    Reply by StaticNomad

Good to hear from you - it's been a while.

Slide is a wonderful thing but tricky to control. Doing it is so sensual and you really get so close to the instrument and have such control of all the microtones as you move it just a tiny bit along a string.

I realised how sensual and sexual it can be a few years ago when playing on stage with a hot female who was singing. I was quite stoned and really felt like my slide was sort of caressing her as it is a bit like stroking a body, except you actually use a lot of pressure and control and intensity, though you can be gentler too.

Slide is one of my signature sounds though I've only been doing it since 2005. Watched a Black Keys DVD and decided I must play slide!

5:32 synth: you're the second to notice that. It's just some synth that I've used in a bunch of other tracks. No clever morphing done there - the synth part just pops up. Must be how I've mixed it that makes it seem like morphing -neomorphing, even.

Yes, more might have been good but I kept this track relatively sparse whereas I have a lot more synth work in other blues tracks.

The most obvious contender for that is the much jazzier and funkier one called Pre-Birth Blues http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/103958

which has loads of guitar and a lot of very varied synth sounds.

Probably the heaviest track I've heard with loads of slide in it is this: Debt Black Hole

    http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/146806

You know I love my grooves and I like to think I've kicked this one off with the best one. They key part is the little snatch of incidental guitar I've chopped out and looped up in that intro.

I like to make cool things happen in Nomad land. Hope I don't ever make boring, washed up, safe middle aged or old man's music. Or just end up really repeating myself. Gotta keep it fresh and interesting.

Hope you and your music are well and thanks for your thoughts.

Hey JP, some really nice synth work here. Love the intro melody. Was hoping to hear you reprise that. I think it could use more low end bass, but I'm really into bass.
It seems a bit strange to me though on the drastic change at the break. Almost like a Segway into another song.

    johnnyproducing
    Reply by johnnyproducing

Mm yeah for the intro melody I couldn't find a spot to place it back in without making very weird transitions haha. Mm I thought more low end bass would make it muddy in combination with the already pounding kick, so I went for a more subtle bass but thanks for the idea, will keep it in mind ;) Hahaha it indeed features a drastic change in beat but it at least makes up for a more interesting song at least I think so.

Thanks for the ideas and the comment ;)

    Really nice work here ICE.

I dig the synths and especially the stereo separation FX.
You definitely packed a lot of dynamics in here which really makes it pop but since I like bass that's the only thing I would say it falls (ever so) short on.

I concur with DjAvad tho, the basic melody here is unmistakably Knife Party and it should be mentioned as such.
