Giving this a second listen; I love it dude! Such a great way to approach this song. The only criticism I can give is that the chorus doesn't have enough punch to it, I just imagine it sounding bigger. With your permission I'd like to have a go at remastering or remixing it, see if I can achieve what's going through my head. Let me know if you're interested.
Thanks.
EDIT: Ok mate, sent you a message about this, if you didn't recieve it (sometimes people don't, for some reason) let me know. Thanks.
Again, very cool sounds going on here, I like the style but I feel it could be fleshed out into a complete track. It has a lot of potential. Hope to hear more from you soon.
Edit: Cool, keep at it dude, your production skills are decent. Practice = greatness!
Hehe, thanks :) I'm really glad someone likes it xD
I'm not very skilled with FL, so hopefully with some more practice I might get it to a full and awesome track :)
Very cool, so atmospheric! I picture a scene from a game or film where the main antagonist turns to the dark side - as if he was once an ok guy but something terrible happened which twisted him into a villain.
Ok, pretty weird description but I hope you get what I mean.
Very cool blues track! Seems a shame to fade out at the end, it sounded like it was building up to a grand finale, and I would've loved to hear a guitar solo after the piano solo (but I'm nitpicking, I'm just a sucker for a good blues solo). Still, great track, you have an awesome voice.
Thank you for the kind words Fingers. I agree...I just ran out of song...and that was after extending it. ;-) I am the lyrics and voice man. Sure wish I could lay down music tracks too. (SIGH) Oh well, be happy with the talents we have, right? Thanks for the compliments.
nah man.....i actually never did. im working on another project right now tho, which i enjoy very much maybe we can collaborate on the one im working on...i think you'll be quite pleased.
Wow this is intense! The only criticism I can add is that it might sound better with the levels turned down somewhat - though how to get that insanely loud sound without clipping issues eludes me.
I know i have a lot of issues in fruity loops keeping levels low but the mix hot because i use a lot of weird samples rather than vst instruments so i have issues where i seem to get one part of a song sounding great then it throws of other parts so alot of times i end up trying to meet both parts in the middle, thus audio chaos insues.. i guess i need to lean how to use another more elaborate music program
Man those guitars sound sweet. Lovely melody and chord progression, reminds me of a Yes or Steve Howe track from the 90's (not a particular song, just that era). Personally, I'd get rid of the electronic beat and have real sounding drums instead.
Thanks Fingers,I know it aint all bad with the mention of those guys.Glad you brought the beat up,I tried to change it after the fact and had a ton of problems...and also a lack of knowledge.Bigger drums also made me want to grab a bass and it started to sound cool, just not the same song,I do hear ya though...I am an old rocker and love real drum sounds.
thanks again.
Allen
Very interesting. I admit I don't listen to a lot of jazz, but I really dig the changes and variation in this, you never know what's going to happen next.
The beat you used at 2:05 has also been used by Enigma (on their track "Morphing Thru Time") - may I ask where you found that sample? I've been dying to get my hands on that loop for years!
Thanks for your review.
THe beat comes from a licenced music I have bought at Sony Music. It's building of loops made with ACID music.
If you have this software or a free version, give me you mail address, I'll send you the masterpiece remixed by the musicians of Sony (which is really a beautiful composition).
Ahhh more 8-bit juiciness from your good self. Had a listen to your earlier cut of this track and honestly can't decide which version I prefer. This one definitely sounds more polished and professional, yet I dig the lo-fi sound of the original cut.
Again, the only thing I'd add would be more panning. Not trying to lecture you, but think of the 3D space a song contains and try to fill that space with interesting sounds.
I'd love to get my hands on the individual tracks that make this song and show you what I mean. If you'd like to collab let me know.
Haha i'll defiantly look into using pan, never actually thought about it really :P but it sounds like a good idea haha... and sure we can collab sometime :P it'll be my first time

Very cool. I love the glitchy synths. The beat sounds a tad weak (bear in mind that I'm listening to this on headphones and I know pretty much nothing about Chill Out music; I guess they're intended to sound chilled). I just think that a wider sounding beat, perhaps some panned percussion, would improve the overall sound. That key change at the very end is a stroke of genius! Really gives a sense of resolvement to the piece. So subtle yet so effective. Damn, I might have to steal that idea lol
Thanks Fingers. I agree I need to do a bit of editing on the mixing/mastering part. Im still kind of crappy at that sometimes. There is a few things I wanna change in this bit especially now with the ideas you gave. Yeah I actually did that key change by accident and it just sounded so amazing I kept it in there, glad you liked it too! I am not that good with music theory yet but I went from key of Am to key of C at the end. (Am - F - G) then key change to C. Maybe that can help you add it to your tunes :)
I like it. Kinda sad, like a lament. I would only add some percussion or something panned to the sides - almost all the rhythm seems stuck in the center. Other than that it's great.
Loving the 8-bit sounds. More variety in the beats perhaps would be an improvement - keep everything else sounding old school but add some cool electro beats with crazy panning, that would really fill out the sound and keep it interesting.
