Something I'm having to work on myself as well, but the mix might be too loud here. I like the idea as a whole. My favorite moments are at :55 and 2:25.
Thanks for the compliment royalnation, I'll be glad when I can get the kind of separation, expansion and compression I want out of my mix.You have it mastered,Folded Time and Not of this World have the kind of sound I'd love to be able to reproduce. I guess it will just be a matter of time and practice before I can produce those "Flawless Flows".
My favorite part is 1:52-2:13. In my opinion you should add a snare into the beat on the verses. The breakdowns are great, and then there's that feeling that it should land on the snare on a tight beat on the verses. It might need to come down in volume as well, the track as a whole. Who am I to talk, I end up mixing loud half the time. Good work!
Okay, so this is a way better song than the last one! Or I'm in a better mood, or both. Anyway, I really liked it. And your sound is good, nice and loud, but nice and clear. The phrase "Best day ever" will always remind me of SpongeBob SquarePants, and that's fine because I love him. The song here is fun and upbeat. When the rapping comes in fast like that I was totally into it. It's tight. Good job!
Thank you.. That's what I sell.. I sell a very tight feel and a very nice and clear sound.. I can get it as loud and clear and warm as humanly possible without sacrificing quality.
My thoughts are this, overall it's a pretty good track. Since you said it was off a new album I had a great expectation that it would be album quality, like, saying that sets the bar high for listeners. The drug references in the lyrics made me think that maybe if the artist wasn't using drugs the music would be better, unless you were Bob Marley or something. My opinion is biased some because I don't use drugs anymore. Although when I did I made a lot of music that I now know could have been better. I've only been clean two years now, so I can't say much. I mean, I've had 35 years of drug and alcohol use. But as for a comment on the quality of this music, I just had to say that, because I feel like that might be part of it. I'm just guessing though. The vocal track seems like a take that would have been redone. The phrasing is kind of weird, but in places brilliant. The lyrics are not very inspiring. I mean, it's all been said before. The overall sound is pretty good. The synth/organ type thing weaving around the vocal sort of takes away from the voc. It could have been there just part of the time so as to not distract as much. The beat is cool, and the heart is there, I can see that.
That's badass! Is the lead played live or is it programmed? Either way it would be fairly difficult to get that. You did a good job with the mix. It's nice and clear. The stops are cool and then the beats picking back up. The track made me want to move, and I kept rocking in my chair and waving my head around.
I think that the most impressive element of this track is the clean sound and overall great engineering and mixing you did. I come from a metal background, and I know that it can be very hard to achieve a clean sound within this genre. You did a great job with that. The guitar playing is pretty good. Good job!
I apologize for the year long delay. But, better late than never, huh?
Thank you for the kind words. I think, for a 100% solo project, as far as the heavy metal engineering and mixing goes, that takes longer to perfect than the writing and composition of the track itself.
It sounds wierd when I don't know the language! But not in a bad way. I think you did a good job putting the mix together. I didn't hear any technical errors.
Thanks. I don't really like how it suddenly cuts out at the end. I made it back in 2016 & didn't feel like changing history today. That's my lazy excuse.
I listened to your track earlier. The rap/spoken word lyrics and execution were really good, as was the music. Just the singing chorus vocal was a bit off.
The sounds are nice and clear, and the track overall is exciting, and is representing dubstep. Around the :35-1:04 mark the timing is off. It doesn't really sound like it's meant to be that way. I especially liked the very end 2:57-3:30.
