Well captured mood and scene. I think this is the first time I've listened to your music! I like this track a lot. Beautiful strings and chilled groove, along with some ethnic instrumentto add the spice. Good production and mix = thumbs up Len!!!
Hi Deep, I like this song! It's honest... Nice lyrics and melodies, ( I like the vocals! Gerry Rafferty). I feel your guitar work should come forward in the mix a bit. You are playing some nice lines man...
Top job Randy!!! Great atmophere created, and man the sounds are superb. The mix, arrangement & production are of the highest standard, the scene is set perfectly... Draw! lol...
Hey....thanks for stopping by and taking a listen to the western shootout. :-)
It was a fairly easy song to make overall.
I am glad you enjoyed it. I'll 'shoot' over to your profile now and see what's new there as it's been a while that I've heard one of your great tunes!
Ripper mate! Alright Dave, as you said to me sometime back "I've been digging through your songs and found some gold". Well buddy I needed to have a laid back flavour with the day I've had today. It's coming to exam time for me. This means two solid days of kids on a production line being examined on their musical instruments, and all that comes with it. The tears, the nerves, the joy, the relief, the broken reeds, strings and in some cases broken/forgotten instruments. So at the moment this is silly season for me...
Anyway this is a beautiful track. Wonderful effects to create the perfect backdrop for a silky smooth bass and masterful production. Hey Dave if you do another like this let me know, I would love to put some soprano and flute over something as chilled as this. 11/10...
Hey for sure Slap...I made some mistakes with this tune which you were kind to overlook...I think the slow tunes are the hardest to play well...Levon Helm from the "Band" in my opinion is the master of 'hanging' slow beats on the drums....cheers mate :)
That's one hell of a devil voice man! You need a drink lol... Did you record the vocals first thing in the morning. Hey man I can provide the toast if you provide the coffee....
A very industrial track I would say. This would be great in a horror film (very sinister). Oooh Peter Cushion & Christopher Lee, now it's time for me to run and hide behind the sofa lol...
Nice intro beat and melody. Good bass line and synth arrangement, I would use that baas line more if I was you. I know these songs are short at the moment, but again I feel you have potential. Looperman is a great place to develop your sound...
I think a lot has been said on this one, but! The groove is a good one. Nice and bouncy! The keyboard melody line is good, but you need another hook line to modulate too. Your production is clean and all can be heard. I think you have a lot of potential!
Wonderful composition! Beautiful song for no doubt a beautiful lady. You have produced a song from the heart, keep producing songs from that special place...
Bloody Jazztastic!!!! This floats my boat on all levels. 1. It's totally original 2. The mix and production is awesome 3. The playing is breath taking 4. Your a genius 5. all of those points again and again.... Man! I wish we lived closer! Just imagine the band we could have....
Hey Steve..thanks for the rap man..haha I'm no G man that's for sure...It would be fantastic if we lived closer together.
I can think of a fantastic line up with some other Loopers included..move over Pink Floyd! cheers buddy :)
Hi Johnny boy. Great track man, nice touch of sax! It's good to have you back where you belong. I read you have bought a line 6 amp. I have one and it's mint! I also use a line 6 tone port for all of my recording, so I'm a big fan of line 6 stuff. I say good purchase. Also I say good song...
This is simply the dogs bollocks!!! The arrangement and production is first class. Play this in any club and the whole place would go wild.. It is testiment to the talent that is present on this site (WORLD CLASS), and man this track is just that...
Nice Jimmy Smith feel rhythm section and tempo. I like the lyrics and sentiment behind them. I feel the vocal recording could be better! It's always a tough one getting the quality, it usually boils down to mic! I use a MXL 770 condenser mic, I got it really cheap from a music shop during it's sale. I must say for computer based recording it's fantastic, I'm driving it in to a line 6 tone port, then into ableton, it never fails me...
Thanks for dropping me a line about this song, it's a good track..
Thanks for the review Slap, has you can see my tracks vary ..i love all styles of music...for the voice..yea i got a cheap 20$ mike..ill look into the mike model you suggested..it will make a difference im sure...Peace Dvive
I loved the intro! I thought you captured the spirit of your inspiration well. When the song kicks in, I imagined snake being chased by those zombie dudes at the start of the film (the ones that come from the sewers). Great production, arrangement and originality...
I love this! The beat got me straight away, and the keys are really sweet. I can't fault your production/arrangement of this track, it sounds all good to me!
Hi DaMann, this sounds great and very well produced. It would be great for you to inform on what has gone into this song. 10 hours is a lot of time and I can hear quality but, let us know how! I for one would be very interested in your creation process.
I am also doing the RPM challenge, I have 3 songs in creation/production, and when I post them I will explain what was played, looped and so on. Just a thought buddy!
Nice track and well done!
Awesome track! Lovely groove and riffs. This song made me smile, which is great! So many serious tracks on this site , but this has humour and style which is a fantastic combination. Your production is really balanced and clear (You have good ears man).
Oh yes indeed! What a track! Really cool playing (some wonderful voicings and riffs), I love the sound your using on the keys. Great drum patterns (I'm still to find/buy some cool bebop/swing beats), just love the ride and rim shot phrases. I say 10/10 for this one baby!!!
THanks for the reviews and comments of my tracks glad you enjoyed. Good luck in your quest to produce 10 tracks in Feb I will be looking out for a post on the results and will also be listening to more of your tracks (I luv the Sax but they made my take up Violin in the 3rd Grade LOL))
Loving the vocal production on this track (very original voice), The way you have layered the textures to create the tracks completed sound is masterful. I couldn't help in noticing that your comments (reviews) have stirred some emotions among some of the members of this site. I am a music fanatic (any genre as long as it sounds fantastic) politics don't interest me, but I do believe in respect. Your skills have earned my respect! This site has alot of different levels of ability and alot of passionate members. I hope we can put this whole episode behind us and concentrate on creating music to the level I have just heard...
well i have to say that i have downloaded a few of your loops and will let you know if they get used.
thanks for the kind words. i wholeheartedly believe in pedagogy and the critique process. obviously by all of the emails i have received - most but not all of them positive - yes i have created a firestorm. Honesty has been known to do such things but diplomacy is always a good idea as well. I urge everyone to put that same energy into their tracks. It is imperative that we bring positive energy to this world. At the same time - I urge everyone to dig deep and do the true work of being an artist. When someone tries to gain an advantage through intrigue, it is usually a bad sign.
cheers Slap I appreciate your words.
Hi Ash, my thoughts go out to you and your family at this difficult time. It's a fact of life that we have to face death sooner or later. It sounds like you knew that they were both terminally ill, but it still doesn't prepare you for when their time finally arrived. Your track is testiment to the love and respect you had for them both. Keep shining bright my friend!
Eh up the gizz!!! It's been a while since I've dropped by. I can't spend as much time on looper world nowadays due to a change in work patterns! Anyway to this track. Cool baby!!! Great use of a unique vocal line from Holly. I just stand in wonderment about how you manage to produce top quality songs time and time again. This is a great offering, and my ears can't fault it one bit, it all sounds awesome!
