Heh heh, I just listened to the original version of this a while ago. This is good, it stands up to the original well. A real radio type of version. Nice job.
You're spot on with that 80's feel, but it reminds me of some of the indie electronic stuff I've been hearing lately that has that 80's synth deal. The drums really lock in a tight groove. So much pocket. Nice job!
Hey, this is very cool! I like the use of the organ, really adds some soul to it! You are a beasty singer, the harmonies were very legit. Also, I don't know why, it really makes me laugh. The concept of the song...I guess I know a few guys who need to hear this because their flirting skills are on the low.
Great job!
Okay. I'm gonna let you finish, but bro, that was awesome. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Bro, I'll be honest. I really don't like much dubstep. This is like the best dubstep song I've ever heard in my life. Do you know why?
Because it sounded so different. To be honest, it sounded like old school pokemon in the beginning and really brought me back to my childhood. And not to mention the fact that it is the perfect length. I think around all dubstep songs should be this length, because a lot of them are like 5 minutes and it becomes redundant in my opinion.
To wrap this up with a big ol' fat ribbon of compliments, marvelous job.
Ooh, I like this. Really reminds me of some older Linkin Park stuff, and thus, reminds me of Transformers. I like how to keyboard keeps the instrumental nice and emotional, but the drums and guitars really keep that aggressiveness throughout. Backround sounds are amazing. Fantastic.
Hey good job, I always admire people who can make dubstep!
My advice, change up the bass riffs in the second drop, and make the transition back to the "old parts" smoother, by adding like, a break or something. Also, during those drops, you might want to add some crazy dubstep hats on the upbeats, just to fill it out a little more!
Hey I really love this! Like everyone says, the percussion part to this is great, and I too would love to see a vocalist on top of this. A rapper, a singer, someone who can scat (that would be interesting) anyone really. I love how jazzy this is, and I like how the bells and the triangle really give you that icy feeling. Great job!
Heh. Heh. I rage quit production after listening to this. LMAO. I kid, I kid.
Seriously though, to me, this is definitely one for the books. I really, really, really enjoyed listening to this, and it has inspired me to reach past the friggin stars and reach for whatever is beyond those.
Before I get seriously philosophical and start to ask myself if there is indeed anything beyond the stars, I'll just go ahead and this review with: thank you for the inspiration. You're too legit to quit.
Heh.. Hey man, I know this is a little late and belated, but I might as well speak my piece as I am here ;)
I really dig that man... Yeah.. for me.. It's more important that I ... well to plainly put it... "F*CK SH*T UP" at all costs... either that... or I am just having fun...
If those two things aren't happening when I make music than I have found things to be listless exercises in sound.
I mean.. I have been making music for ages bro.. and that's good and all.. but I like it when I actually feel something.. you know?
I write a song a day, but at large most of it never gets heard... But this was an act of futility.. an act of ... RAGE.
Pushing against all the "laws" we supposedly adhere to .. (almost) religiously towards music.
I think it definitely came down to melting as many faces possible while not bleeding too much all over my guitar at the same time. xD
Hey, this is really cool. After reading your forum post, it's really cool to think that none of this was by accident...like it was all planned out in your head before you did anything...awesome. But anyways, I feel like this would be cool to have someone rap over, simply because you don't hear a lot of beats like this. I think Tyler The Creator could write something sick (in every since of the word) to this.
Hey this is definitely something. I like the drums especially, I feel like they blend in well with the mix despite sounding a little different from the rest of the sounds. Bombastic it is indeed. Clubbing music.
It was my intention to let the drums sound different from the rest. I want to use acoustic drums in a electronic piece. I do this often, can't help it !Sorry ! ;-D
Honestly, you and J1K have to be my favorite combination of Looperman users...like ever. You guys are my heroes. I hope I can hit you guys' level eventually. I love the old school samples. Pretty awesome.
Hey this is very cool. I like your style, you're a great rapper. The hook was great. What I like about this the most is that the production on the vocals is great. And there's a pre-chorus! I don't hear a lot of those here! I'd love to work with you in the future.
As with most dubstep, I feel like a lot of dancers would have fun with this. I think you could add some variety to it by adding a drop and a break down. Variety is the spice of life, after all.
Hey I like this beat, it's pretty great. I like how it just jumps into the chorus too. The piano during the chorus is pretty tight. I feel like the singer should have been more powerful with it though. I like your voice, it's great! I feel like the first verse's flow was a little too mechanical so to speak, but it was cool overall. Your verses were tight though. Great pocket.
Ooh, I think the guitar was a nice addition to this. Made things sound a little secret agenty. I think the cutoff for the guitar could use some work though. The scratches were great, but scratches always amaze me. Beat is truly dope though.
Oh great job here! I'm gonna listen to this while I'm driving! This is great cruising music. I love that vocal sample used, it gives it a real authentic jazz feel. Totally downloading this.
This is the first track I ever downloaded off of Looperman. Talk about a fitting title. I seriously did remember an epic/traumatic experience of my life listening to this. I really love this. Thank you.
Hi OkToUse. Thanks very much. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and reflect on a memory. It was what I had thought one night while recording this. I am very happy you liked it that much to download. Again appreciate the time and the kind words
Oh wow, I love how it changes to the part with the piano. That's got to be my favorite part. I like how much is going on with the percussion, I feel like it was integrated really well into the piece. I personally wouldn't describe it as smooth either, but, I think the music speaks for itself, right? No need to attach a name to it. Well done!
