Hey buddy, it's always good to hear from you! I know that you are one to appreciate a modern psychedelic experience, at least musically, and so I thank you for sharing the journey! Smoking a nice morning bowl myself at the moment, mostly to offset this poor tasting batch of instant coffee. ha ha. I'm very happy you enjoyed this "short but sweet" endeavor. Thanks much!
Vocals=Good.
Instrumental=Not so good.
You need some instruments that are recorded well and compliment your good voice. Even if you used the same Instrumental and let the notes ring for awhile instead of cutting off it would be a tremendous plus.
Love this stuff!! I could never play the delta blues very well on my 6 strings, take a few away and... ;) I'll check out some of Clutch's bluseier stuff, I've heard some of their metal. There's alot of this style on you tube, mostly just the guitar solo. I tried that and it felt like it was missing something.
Hey, appreciate your honest opinion, I love that. Please see my reply to Danke, and maybe give it another go as I tried to improve the song going by the suggestions given here. TG :)
I gotta say I wasn't expecting much in the beginning but your vocals and delivery of them are the star of this. I hear some great guitar work but in my opinion, it needs to be brought more forward in the mix as it gets a bit lost.
Awesome job and again I dig your vocals. Nothing over the top but nice tone and they sound good.
Hey tv! What's up? Hoping that this song helped you to enjoy the after effects of that bowl! This summer has been the longest I've gone without smoking bud for years, maybe even a decade or more. Filing bankruptcy and the summer heat has gotten in the way, which are both situations which make me wish that I was smoking! I fully realize that you are more into psychedelic rock than trance, but I'm happy that you could enjoy it all the same. My roots are in psychedelic rock as well, and I try to bring a bit of that into most things that I do... I'm just not used to recording guitar while I'm tripping, ha ha. Happy to hear from you!
I might be a Rock guy but I grew up in Jersey City listening to Hip Hop and Rap as well. Just so happens Gang Starr happens to be one of my faves. This reminds me of them and that is a most excellent thing. Awesome job.
Well, first thing I did before listening I took a good rip off the bong since this is in the Psychedelic genre. The Riff grows on you as you listen. Vocals add to the overall Trippy Vibe going on. Definitely unique and interesting.
Hey man! Good to hear from you every now and then! I think you probably did the right thing with the bong... you know "grain of salt" and all. My roots are really in psychedelic genres, and more specifically Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, Depeche Mode, and the like. I know... that last one doesn't fit, but it works for my ears. The second half of the song is definitely more important riff-wise, as I think I really captured the New Order vibe in places, and on accident no less. I haven't used a dynamic microphone for a while, but I think that the tone really suited the song... plus it was easy since I already had it hooked to the noise gate for testing. Thank you very much for taking a listen to this! Have a great day!
Dig it...not sure why nobody has not Faved this yet but I will gladly be the First. Vocals fit well with the very catchy music. I like the first "Like this" @ 2:22 but In my opinion the others after that initial one kind of detract from the smoothness of everything else in the song. The instruments are fucking clicking and jamming so sometimes less is more. Just my 2 cents since I dig the track. Nice job.
Thanks for your comment Topvega, much appreciated (even if you did not fav it in the end ;) ). Just joking, as long as a few people listen to it I am cool with it. Thanks for your comments about the "like this" on 2:22 - to be honest we took the vocal track from Grotesk: http://www.looperman.com/acapellas/detail/1039/like-this-by-grotesk-96bpm-hip-hop-acapella
and did not cut or change it, I only did some work on the sound of it. I rarely touch the vocal tracks out of respect to the original creator, but maybe I should. Your observation is not the first time, it was mentioned on our other tracks as well. Food for thought, really appreciate it!!
It is the 4th or 5th song I am doing with the same bass and drum players, so we are getting to know each other better, and it does sound tighter now. Cheers, TG
I thought I had accidently turned the Radio on but then I realized the Radio doesn't really play good music anymore. Awesome job. Radio should be lucky enough to play this instead of the Bull Shit they currently play.
Surprised that there are no comments, likes, or downloads on this Track. Because this fucking Rocks, with a Capital R. Bro, seriously this shit is banging. Is this just you or is this a band of bad ass mother fuckers? Mix is tight as well. Thanks for the download. and faved.
Vocals need to be brought up in the mix and I agree with thrilledburst. Some parts are off key and need to be addressed. Other than that not a bad start. I assume you are going to extend this.
I agree dude. Singing isnt our strong point at this time lol, coming up with lyrics and melodies no problem but the actual singing needs help for sure. Would love to post extended versions of all our songs but the 10MB limit to file size negates alot of the good stuff. Thanks for taking the time to leave some feeback, much appreciated.
Good stuff for sure. Nice back and forth between low key and Heavy riffage. The only thing IMO missing is a solo. Vocals would be cool but not needed IMO. Nice job Brosef.
Pretty cool track. I wish the vocals were a little louder in the mix and a bit more up front, but they work well.
The drums leave a little to be desired. Remind me of a Drum Machine. Overall solid track though. Nice job.
guilty....:) drum machine indeed, had two busted heads at
the time i was recording that one. i really appreciate the input ! you never know what your stuff is going to sound like on someone elses hardware. thanks for listening :)
