I love the melody and vocals on this. There's some kind of ducking effect going on at every bass drum beat, though. The music volume dips for a second when the bass drum hits it almost sounds like something is going through a side chain dynamically on that signal flow. Other than that nice tune.
I don't understand why you think I'm going to monetize the track I worked on. Also I posted it in the format you demanded. I would like to write for SD under contract then no problem with surrendering any rights to you but unless I am I am going to Studio Pros for a vocalist for an original work so no worries. Peace and Respect.
The keys are sweet. Your arrangement sounds like you've been in California Bay Area Fusion scene I was getting that..just curious. I'd like to fill in on drums on one of your tracks sometime. Saving up for a Roland TD 25K for this Spring. Nice Playing Peace
I like the production on this track. It has a nice room effect. Do you have a live band? This would sound really cool live in an amphitheater.
There's just one thing I missed on the B section when the drums play a syncopated rhythm on the snare where it kind of loses a little of the drive the snare gives on the main melody. Have you considered putting an accent on the and of 2nd beat on the snare drum? (I don't know how else to explain it using a typewriter otherwise I could write it out what I mean. 1 e and ah 2 e and ah, etc. On the third 16th note of the 2nd beat?
This is a cool track I'd like to see if I could play on one of your tracks one day
this is an oldie, I don't have any stems to change anything in the song but cool review you gave and in my other life I will suggest to myself those changes...:-)
...and yes we gotta live band...kinda rock music is that...
What confuses me is that you say you don't know a lot about music. I think you are a genius. You have a prolific imagination and your voice sounds like it comes from Heaven.
I see you are producing your own work and I would like to say something; what you did with your vocals no. 27 (I can't remember if it was no. 7 or no. 27 because you removed them after I downloaded them) was Perfect. You said not to leave any posts or try to send you a message and that there was No Dry Version, do you remember? Well, a dry version is not necessary. I haven't seen those vocal tracks anymore but they were recorded very very well. You recorded them at a very low volume which is why they have massive Head Room after Mastering. Where did you record the vocals? In a Hall or Church? It sounds very nice I thought I would share with you what I did:
1. After putting the vocal on a track I "Normalized" it. Most audio software I know of allows one to "Normalize" a track by choosing that option, but that is what it is called "normalize". Then I used just a small amount of "Compression" to take the sound off of the noise floor. No other effects were used.
2. I then sent it to a Mastering facility online and just got it back a few minutes ago.
Yeah! ha! I knew it, you 'are' a cool bass player I could tell before I heard you play. Great work, lets get together if possible I sent you an email. Peace
My thoughts were that this track is well produced also that the mix could use more reverb effect worked into it because it feels like something done in a big auditorium. If I may say- it sounds like a great progressive rock track but I would like to hear it with acoustic drums...for drama. I could imaging Yngwie Malmsteen playing guitar on this.
I think this track is hot. Are you a rocker? Regardless, your creativity was up one on this. Clean recording too. And I like the end with the synth cord ha! yeah man- very cool work.
I like this tune- I like the musicianship (technical performance) and the song is interesting. Having said that I feel the mix doesn't do the song as much as it should. It feels just a little bland in the the mix. May I suggest the vocals, bass, and drums need to be louder overall? The lead vocal could use more presence I think in order to stand out and in front of the rhythm section (more volume maybe a little compression). The bass and drums both sound a little faint next to the keyboards (more vol) The keys were recorded at a good level however. I imagine the keys were not recorded using a microphone? ...just a quess.
Overall I like the tune and would like to hear it with more vocal bass and drums in the mix. Thanks!
The vocals are really nice (I dig that 16th note appegio at the front of the verse) Tell me, is that a real drummer on the track? It sounds like a live band-
I agree with topvega and trojanman and nice guitar work. At first when I heard it I thought '..can he pull off a rock groove like that with Patricia?' I think you got pretty tight with the vocal line on this one, yeah you did it...
Hi Windycity !
The Acapella is claimed as Gospel/HipHop. But when I heard them first, I directly thought about to do a Song like Mothers Finest/Skunk Anansie.
Thanks for your comment !
