NC17. 'Poking my leg...' is a just great line! This hadda been written in bed. Just wait til yr parents get home!
Levels sound a little low, maybe from the aco roots? Punch it up a little.
Funny, warm and cool track, AR.

Zawinul, Corea - and you!! Great experiment!

Thanks for your very uplifting comments about my music. I am looking forward to listening to your pieces. I think the only reason that Zappa wouldn’t let me work with him is that I was born at the wrong time. I did see the last British tour he did, in 1988. This was the best concert I have ever seen.

on zap improv. by Wilobowski
John, your affinity with Zappa/Duke is absolutely uncanny. If I hadn't heard you here & seen your bio I would have sworn this was completely plunderphonic in the style of John Oswald (check his looping of Grateful Dead bootlegs).
I had the great opportunity to see FZ many times (I think seven) here in the Detroit area - astounding stuff and I will go out on a limb and say that you woulda been recruited for that next tour.

on the bells ring, not for you by ShahRizzal
In the best ambient tradition, this sounds done onsite (at least the traffic). Makes me feel at home, too - sitting on the steps f the Detroit Institute of Arts in slushy winter watching the people and cars go past and dreaming.

on Jazzy Metal Chinaman by Akeshian
Looping is great and the track kicks!
But I'm missing out on the Jazz & China elements... I'm just digging in with the pizzicato, which kills me every time.
Now the metal is there, and well done. You could add a few more layers to really make the track live up to the name. Thanks!

Like what yr doing here an awful lot - intricate looping! Production seems kinda MOR or as found, though. You could either take this to the dryest places on earth or off-planet. Keep going!

Really like that descending melody and the way you delicately step on the loops - this is even better than self-extinguishing cigarettes!! Thanks + Peace.

Hello, quite drawn in to this track right from the intriguing title to the description - Albino 3??? - hadda listen, and very happy experience it is! Not a fan of the rave-type drumbeat, but this proves that exceptions always make rules irrelevant. Thanks, SP!!

No disrespect to the dead, but I always thought Jim was soo overrated - he coulda been a contender with this kinda track. Thanks for rocking!
theHumps
theHumps replied Unknown - 2028 years ago
Thanks for the review Michael. I actually think he never got the recognition he deserved(especially the "Catholic Boy" album, simply great). But drugs had such an effect on him. He put out limited music but was more of a poet. Watch the movie "The Basketball Diaries" about Jim's life(Leonardo DiCaprio plays him). Pretty sobering what he went through.

Thanks again, Wayne

That's a tough question - this track just has so many possible directions to go in! I can only say extend it and let it take you with it.
I would love to play with those source loops as well!!

Vibrant! Look forward to see where it goes - peace, TeriG.

I think yr instrumental work & production values are great - however, the helium-infused vocal samples detract. Will keep tuning in.
