To be honest bro its good to hear niche tracks that are actually being produced to a high standard.

i kinda stopped listening to b-line stuff because it sounded really un-mastered and bedroom. but your stuff is wicked bro...
I think your not gonna like me very much for saying this but bassline has had its time dude. i have a few good mates who run very BIG bassline record labels and there aint much money in it any more bro if any.

Dubstep seems to be the way to go if your into big b-lines and wanna make money, but any way im straying from the review of your track, lol.

Wicked wicked track fella, loved the whole arraignment.
If you aint on a label yet pm me your details and ill speak to some people for you.

Stay blessed..

Thanks for that big review, i know what your sayin about bassline dying... but i produce it for the simple fact of loving the music n keepin it alive for people who still like hearing it. The money side of thing im not greatly concerned about atm.

Yeh dubstep seems to be doing great now an selling alot more, i do produce it aswell but wont release any of the tracks till i know there on par with my bassline standard atleast.

I'l get in touch about the label though :)

Thanks again, Warpa.

alright bro,

Yeah kinda kool this one, its a little out of key with the vocal tho. you should try running your vocals through "Mixed in key" and then when it tells you what key there in, go to here.
http://www.8notes.com/piano_chord_chart/ it will tell you exactly were you need to put ur fingers :)

hope you dont take the advice the wrong way, just wanna help.

Yo, thanks for the heads up on that mate! The key of the vocals didn't even occur to me! Will check out the 'Mixed in Key' for sure. I appreciate the advice :)

Great track bro. really really good.

Vocal is very good too, altho probly not up to the same quality as the instrumental.

loved the track bro, from top to toe. only small critique is, i had to check my sub to make sure it was still on cause the low end was a little light but apart from that, great work fella :)

ps:

Sounding alot phatter bro, WOOOOOOOO deffinately pushing all the right sonic buttons down below :)

What i ment with the vocals was like at the 43'ish second mark when all the vocals come in there out of time with each other slightly, the vocals are not hitting together, and i think they may be a couple of dbs too high in volume. it may also be worth chucking the whole thing through a fairchild emulator, like the one on t-racks to get them pulled together nicely. i know that i probly seem really anal but bro youve made a very very good track, one of the best iv heard on here for a while and if i thought you wernt very talented i wouldnt even bother to mention it all. but you could release this if you push it the right way.

Thanks for the solid review and advice. I remastered the track today. Could you spare a few minutes to listen to it again? Also, the vocal, by same quality do you mean sound/production, or the lyrics? Thanks again.

on Technique Track Got to have House (GGB) by Beatkutz
Nice start bro, could use a bassline with a side chain compressor on it to make it pump, cause at the moment its a little one level sounding also putting the same side chain on the gliding leed sound would help it gain a little texture.

Hope that helps a little
Beatkutz
Beatkutz replied Unknown
Thank you for your review :) I made a short bassline at the start, but I'm not sure if I like it. Side-chained the "bass-lead" and made a few other corrections. I'll probably make a new bassline and spice it off with some sub as well, if you have any more suggestions, PLEASE tell us :)

Alright bro, nice atmosphere and vibe altho the piano is out of key a little bit in places this may be because of the octave you have used is too deep causing the piano sample to sound a little funny.

Nice snare and hats.

theres a rather hard to pick out synth that is causing the distortion, its just in the nature of the sound, it was originally chosen because of the original intention of the song
the paino line is also naturally dichordant for this reason

on Bradd - Midnight Lights Demo by DjBradd
Nice kik loving the full sound of it, could maybe use a gate on there to stop the end of the wave interfering with the next kick.

Build up is MEGAAAAAAA keys are superb too.. loving the arp over the top. also the slightly outa time claps and snare give the track a really big clap your hands vibe love it..

First breakdown is beautifull bro... altho the pads are eating into your headroom quite a bit when they are all going together, sound great tho..

The build up could maybe use a little white noise rise or a snare roll to build up some tension before it drops.

Loved it mate. your getting better with every track you do and your starting to get a signiture sound of your own kind of a cross between trance and prog house.

Ta for sharing :)

Thanks for the amazing 100th review!! lol

Yeah, thats a good idea, may do that for sure, or just put some compression on it, or even just reduce the volume on the end of the sound.

Yea, i like the way it builds up, there is no arp, it was all done with a pluck synth including the chords. The only arp i have is the one that sort of vibrates right before the pads kick in on the breakdown.

The pads may be a bit high and when it all comes together, it does sound a bit awkward, i want to also try a snare roll to bring it back in, seeing as i intended the song to be more progressive trance.

I really appreciate it Spudsy, your a real good guy bro, very helpful review. Im glad that it seems as if i am getting my own sound and genre.
Thats how you make it big! haha

Cheers, Bradd.

on Dreaming in Black and White by alaska
Hiya bro.... nice vibe you got happening here... im the same fella i love piano's.

On the production side... i like what you have done so far, but i would maybe say lower the volume of the reverb on the piano, and also put an eq cut at about the 120-200hz sorta mark (And about 500hz on the reverb if you can) to clean it up.
also if you can, i would probly say try to put a side chain compressor on almost everything that isnt drums and have it being triggered by the snare, d&b artists "The Brookes Brothers" use it all the time and it works wonders in making the track come alive.
Also on the bass side i would say make another copy of it, cut everything below about 350-500hz on one and change the other for a sine wave cutting everything above 600hz on it.

it sounds like you may have already done this but the sub wave seems a little detached from the high bass.

Hope you dont take offence to the advise, cause if i didnt like your work i wouldnt have even commented at all.

Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing bro :)

Great Neyo type beat.. nice synth's and bass. also the subtle high string section gives the track a superb lift.

Really love the peice as a whole, you have a stunningly good ear for sounds.

The only thing i can really pick at is the vocal arraingment, while it is good, it isnt up to the calibur of the rest of the track i think this may be down to not having enough multitracks in different keys/octaves or panned about enough.

Please dont take that as a knock tho because the peice is really superb.

Youve got a really good ear for sounds bro.... you can hear what works and what dont, this is normally half the battle when it comes to making tracks.

The bongo's/congo's could use being either swung a little or a trick i use is to skip the bongo loop forward or back ward in 8th's until it sounds a little different to a normal loop and then move the loop forward or back by a few milliseconds, this will give the loop swing without having to actually chop it up and repostion the hits.

obviously a bit of bass would finish it off nicely but everyone else had said that so theres no point in flogging the matter, lol :)

liked it alot fella, thank you for sharing

Cheers mate, Appreciate your comments and your tips are welcomed.
I also want to say thanks to everyone else who reviewed this track, I agree a bit of bass would have completed the track as a whole. If I can find the project file I'll give it a proper mix down and add some bass. Thanks again!

Nice piece Bro, Loved all the elements you put into the track they all go great together... With a catchy hook over the top of this, it would work really really well as a chill out piece..

On the kick, i think its great and cuts through the mix, only thing i would maybe change on it would be to add a HiHat or a snare with a really fast envelope, normally i would use that to make the track cut through the mix but in this case it would be used to make the kick sound a little more real... altho im guessing that probly not what you wanted to do so you can tell me to shush if you want, lol.

Not at all mate, I know what you're saying. Im just in the habit of eliminating alot of the HI freq's from Kicks so adding a hat never crossed my mind.
Thanks for the comments by the way. Much appreciated!

on I need Excitement ft. Santiago by IRU
Hiya Dude.

Great ideas and melodies really liked it alot because you worked the track around the vocal and didnt just paste it on.

There are a few volume issues in there, i would definitely say turn all your tracks down to at least -3db and probly even -6db cause the drums are really distorting what is a very nice piece and plus you can just put a compressor and limiter on the master strip to bring the volume back up again when uv finished :)

Hiya bro,

Nice track here man, loving the jungle vibe to it.

I didnt hear it before you touched it up but the drums sound good as gold now fella. the only thing i may suggest tho would be to put a sub sine wave under the main bass patch. and roll off every thing above about 250hz on it. This would give the bass a huge low end. if you do try it you may have to cut everything below about 150hz on your current bassline to make sure it dont go muddy.

Nice track tho fella.

Really nice Chilled out piece.

The drum track, instruments and the vox sound a little seperate, i think it maybe a volume thing and using something like psp's vintage warmer on the master would gel them together nicely.

Like i said tho really nice track fella sounds like you were in the zone while making this one.

Great track bruh.

Loved the whole thing, from top to toe pure class.

The only thing i think it could maybe use is a chorus man/Woman.

That dont detract from what is a really good piece.

Hiya fella..

Welcome to the site :)

Liking the track bro specially the way you have organised/layered/reversed the pads, sounds melodic and haunting too in parts. Breaks were nice and the bass was cool too altho maybe making a second copy of the b-line putting it really low in the mix and running it through a automated bandpass filter would give it some movement and shimmer to stop it getting a little stale towards the end, not to say its poo, i liked it alot

Thanks for sharing

More please :)

Hiya Steph,

Happy new year :)

Great track here. Vox are good as gold (altho the auto tune is distressing, warping and warbling a little in parts)

The only thig i noticed that the track could maybe do with is.. the vocals are out of time with the track in parts. some chopping and Re-Editing would sort it out and would really make a difference to the finished track.

Realy liked it tho,

Great work from all involved

Hiya fella.

Another great track, i can deffinately hear the GaGa influence coming through.

Your production is getting stronger with ever track you do.

Some of the synths could maybe do with being layered up a bit more and grouped together with a bit of distortion and compression to get that GaGa lead sound spot on.

BIG thumbs up dude

Great opening, the first break down comes in at just the rite time altho when the track kicks in after the breaks build up i would go rite back to the beats and make them wait another 32 for the melody to come in, too be honest id probly do it twice and take all the drums out to do a huge filtered rise after the second one (you can tell me to shut up by the way, haha)

Chord structure is superb and has a deadmou5 vibe to it.

Really liked it alot bro.. gonna fav.

Keep it up..

Already said it, but your gonna be big bro.... Dont loose focus Your on the rite track :)

Loved it

Bro.. This track is sick, im gonna hazard a guess and say your a Nero fan... Youve got a great ear for sounds and elements. This is the first track of your's iv listened to so not sure if you normally do D&B but you should cause i reckon within a couple of years your gonna be smashin it.

Not sure if your open to advice but i would deffinately recommend exporting all the individual track stems and dragging them into a powerhouse Daw like Cubase, Ableton, Sonar, Logic Pro. doing this will give you a heck of alot more flexability for eqing compressing then you will ever find in Reason (well im guessing its reason;)
Doing this will get your track to a more finished state which is really all this is needing.

Thanks for sharing bro...

Great track dude, all the elements are spot on and work really very well together..

Did you make the track on Fruity? i only ask because Fruity loops has a particular sound to it and its very very hard to get rid of.
For example BassHunter use's Fruity but exports all his tracks to be finished on another DAW programme.

really liked your track tho fella Kinda reminded me of a trancy Duran Duran's Say a Prayer, god knows why, i think the chords may be similar (dont worry im not hinting youve nicked anything lol... )

thanks for sharing Bro..
