I love it, but where's the low end? Maybe it's just cos it's a bad stream or something, but I'm listening to this on a decent pair of headphones, and I can't hear any sub level sounds. I really like it though: melodic yet dirty.
Finally, someone on Looperman likes their dubstep dirty!!! I love it. My only quarrel is that to me it sounds like you've used a preset for the bass, Brutal Electro from NI's Massive. I not too keen on presets myself, especially for basses. But hey, who cares, it's the sound that matters. I like it, (Y).
I love it, (Y). The samples are awesome, :). What synth do you use again? I think I asked before, but I forgot, aha.
I didn't actually realize you had a new track until someone on a forum thread I started posted a link to this saying it was a banger, props man, (Y)
cheers mate. and that was albino. It was with a preset called Monster, which is on me website so you can use it if you like. To get the two different sounds you just need to switch the filter fader twixt filter 1 and filter 2. Good fun.
But yeah you should keep up man! i posted that song ages ago. I actually dont like it that much, tis quite samey. But that synth is good fun to muck about with, I just havent been able to come up with anything decent since.
Go look through my song list! you might av missed one :~P ehehe
I love it, (Y). Linkin Park were one of the first bands I ever got into as a kid.
I think you my man should do some acapellas on here, or even just some vocal samples, (Y).
Great track, well done, (Y).
I know I've reviewed this before, but this time it's to ask a question...can I remix this? Could you send me a bunch of the samples, some midi, a couple of the drum samples and maybe even tell me which synths you used and send me the presets? Pukka mate. Still an awesome track btw, was one of the tracks I listened to tonnes when I first got into dubstep, (Y). ;).
Lol you can; but...Well I dunno. I've thought about redo-ing thing myself, seeing as it got so much appreciation, I'd quite like to redo it and just make it a bit clearer sound really, the production isnt up to much. As for the presets, you can find them on my website:
Under the same name. I dont mind sending you the drum beat if you like, send me a message via looperman (under the contact me bit) and then I can reply and email you back.
Im a bit weary though as I cant see much further to go with it. And Im a bit scared if I wont like the results :S Lol, But if you think your up to the challenge go for it!
Sweet man, I'm loving it. The intro is epic, (Y). What synth did you use to make the bass? It it one with Reason? What happened to using the Cubase me ol' fruit???
Theres two thor synths in there and a subtractor being manipulated by a malstrom for the LFO (because as far as I can see Subtractor's LFO doesnt retrigger so I have to map malstroms LFO into it to get it working).
Im still using cubase, But i wanted to learn reason because quite a few of my favorite artists use it and, I knew the synths were good so I gave it a go. I've pretty much got it down now I think, but thers so much about the synths that I havent quite figured out.
Anyway I suddenly realised that i've never used the original synths that came with Cubase5, (prologue etc) And they are actually quite good, So i might be making something with them soon.
Hows it going anyway? Havent heard from you in a while! you fruit!
I really really love the intro on this. Can I have your permission to sample it, please?
As for the rest of the track, it's not really my type of dubstep to be honest, and it goes on for a while, good work though still, (Y).
I rekon this'd sound really good with some mellow rapping over it. I can't help bobbing my head to it. Good job, not usually my thihnkg but I like it, I like it a lot, (y).
Enki!
hey bro thanks for the review... id love 2 hear sum rapping over this tune same as u... and im glad u enjoyed the song and tbh im still tryna figure out what style i want 2 put the most juice into... i got guitar based stuff on 1 hand and electric MIDI based music on the other.. i guess theres always the option of blendin the 2 .. thnx agen for the review
Lovin' it! That's such a good build up. All I can say is maybe making it longer after the intro, cos it like gets into it...then disappears. Other than that, I love it! good job!
Enki!
thanks mate. I do like this song but the mastering on it is terrible. I shall have to re-work it one it day. Still nice though, its funny aswell i didnt use 1 synth in this song at all, its all just bass drums that i messed around with :P
heh cheers mate. Yeah i really like this song. I've actually recently discovered that i accidentally used the 'Pentatonic Blues' chord set in this song, quite funny as at the time i had no idea what it was. But it works well! :P lol cheers again mate.
DAAAIM! I've only recently started listening to hip hop stuff, I'm usually more DnB or Dubstep, but this is fucking awesome! You should get some rapping and/or singing to put over the top of it! Keep up the work mate, (Y).
Now this is fucking what i listen to dubstep for! The bass is fucking crazy! If I was you I'd make the main cutoff bass a bit louder, but hey...you're the one with the sick tracks and the best i've got is a shitty Katy Perry remix and some abusive scousers! Damn good work man!!!! Fucking love it!
hehe thanks mate, and dont be too hard on yourself, i had a listen and your samples are good - you just need to get a collection going and use the right one at the right time, im currently gathering willy wonka samples! i found some good ones, but films like lock stock, snatch and gangster no 1...films like that are all good sources as well :)
And which bass did you mean - the underlying bass or the grindy main one?
Yeh I'm just listening to again, the little voice bit is huuuge. (Y). I'm working on a song wit a lil voice clip i ripped offa youtube so Richard Dawkins - Evolutianary Biologist - saying "Science is interesting, and if you don't like it...you can fuck off" i love geeky little shit like that :D!
What synth do ya use to make the bass? I'm just trying to get to grips with Massive atm, but it's like aaaargh!!! I'm too new to this shit, hahha!
That sounds like a funny sample. Yeah yeah i collect samples from pretty much everything i watch. I love them!
The bass in that one was Hydra - i'd recommend it, its really nice and has some good settings for starting out - Its 50 pounds though - synapse.com. It was what i started out on.
When I first put this on it made me out loud say, "Fuck yeah!" Who/what is Poi Ramekins? And how do you make that growling, motorbike type bass? Like in Scareware by Rusko. Good work man! (Y)
Hehe thanks! And i'd never heard Scareware before! its pretty damn good i must say. But then Rusko's stuff always is. And thats more of a chainsawy type sound, im working on that at the moment :P watch out for it in my new songs.
But thanks for the review, to answer your questions - 'Poi Ramekins' is sampled from Frasier and its a small type of fish dish. Its just a bit poncy really but i do love the way his voice sounds, goes well with the song!
