Me likes. Very nice synth sounds, very soft and flowing. Sounds well mixed. The bongos sound a bit dry tho. try adding a little reverb or a delay to them to help assimilate them into the rest of the track. I like the use of the reverse cymbals as well. I often use them myself. Actually, I think the bongos are a little loud, maybe recess them a bit. But great song. A like it. Keep em coming!
Very interesting song you have here. Like a minimalist industrial with distorted bass synth leads. Thats creative. You get an A for getting outside the box!
Hey that rythym guitar almost sounds like Lita Ford's axe on The Ozzy collab "Close Your Eyes". But, very nice track, very good melody. Kudos as well on you guitar chops. It appears that you are more of a technical guitarist. Well played, sir.
A catchy tune. Im especially attracted to the heavier guitars. The vocal track is a bit loud, or maybe the backing track needs more volume, but at any rate, good track. Nice job.
Nice tune, this one. I see DnB is your main thing, Maybe I can stand to lear a few things from you. I normally dont limit myself to any genres, I bleed into everything sooner or later. But this track is arranged well, and flows nicely. Cant say I have much advice in this arena, but keep it up man. Very Nice!
Damn... Nothing nice about this one (but thats a good thing, I think). This is bazarre. I dont know where to begin. I dont think its cinematic, but I lack a better proposition, so stay there. This is creepy, dramatic, cold and horrifying all at the same time. Like Nazis breaking down your door. Hmm... Nazis...war... ok, I think I see where you are going with this. Um in that case, A+ (but lower the levels just a touch)
This track sounds like a dirge. In my medicated mind I see you trudginging through deep snow... at pretty good rate for deep snow. Anyhoo, the layering you have produced in this song is well done, and leaves me conciously interested in where the track is leading. I might have made the break a full measure longer, but thats not a big deal. I like this one. You should be proud.... Oops, the ass end got cut. But I think your mission was accomplished. Your point was made, and you made a good track. A+
Very sparse and panoramic, or at least the start is...but then it picks up in to a very nice arrangement of synths. Dark? eh, a matter of opinion I suppose. The deep brass does do the track some justice, and I guess on some level proposes a sinister element. Overall, nice job, but the vocal samples lack any sign of forethought or creativity. Maybe try to add a crazy effect, or maybe add a changing dialogue, or both. But nicely executed overall.
Hey great lead work on this one. I can feel the soul. That makes it a success, not the number of notes. Id like to try out a rig like yours, Im lovin the tone and expression you have there. Nice jingle youve made.
Hello there AudioFiend,
Thanks a lot for your review. I will check out one of your tunes today for sure.
I like this tune a lot plus the last one I just put up, Rock My World. To me, that is what rock should sound like.
Your right, you don't need blazing notes to make a tune. Just the right placement I think counts and expression as you say.
I've always wondered if a person using FL's could make a tune like this? Not sure what you use, but I'd say any top end software package should be able to create a sound like this tune.
Just playing the rhythm twice into 2 separate channels makes a big difference...one panned hard left, and one panned hard right.
Plus effects, compression, etc.
Thanks again for the review, I appreciate it very much,
Randy
Hell yeah! Great guitar work, partly inspired by Sublime no doubt. Canadian ska is alive, lol. Very catchy. Are you opposed to any submissions of vocal efforts? You need to get a band together if you have not yet. The two of you are loaded with talent.
This song has a nice groove to it. I very much like the arrangements. Great work on all three instruments. I dont have much in the line of constructive criticism, because the track is well done, end of story. The emotion and soul is well conveyed, but I wish there was a vocal track to round off this one. A lead guitar would have been nice as well, and (possibly) a bit of synth/keyboard/piano to thicken it up. But as it stands, Paramount effort and skill A++
The synth lead at the start really caught my ear. I love to hear well sliced loops, as it shows so thought was put into it, as opposed to a random arrangements of loops called a 'song'. This is wel composed, I can tell you take great effort and time in your music. Nice job A+
Besides a very contradicting title, Id say this track is very nice and mentally stimulating. A thought provoking mishmash of electronic styles, and several breaks, thus finding a home in breakbeat. I hear trance, electro, hardcore, drum n bass, and possibly rave all in one breakbeat song. Certainly a new feel.
Good job, keep em comin!
It begins with an interesting vocal sample that grabs the attention. The 'TCM' type synths are very nice. I understand about the minimal time frame it took to create this, as my best tracks have 'fallen together' in just a few hours. Its funny how that works, huh? Anyhoo, yes a little more mixing and level adjustment is in order, but as for composition, very nice. Im a big fan of drums, and its all I can do to keep from playing around with this tune. Maybe we can set up a collab remix? Hit me up. Overall: Nice job, A+
Damn right its a rocker! I know its rock n roll man, but I think the levels are a bit high. The backing track drowns your lead work. Other than that, the track is a sizzler. Nicely done and I love your chops! A+
Don't believe I have seen you review one of my tunes before...so thanks a lot. I appreciate it very much. I will return the favor shortly.
The lead volume levels in much of the song are lower on purpose as I mentioned in the heading/title...I wanted others to play along with it and have fun with it too.
My main leads come in during the middle part and at the 2:20 part mostly.
So I am glad you liked it and I can tell you, I enjoyed making it very much.
I think I have gotten this 'Pro Tools' software down enough so I can do what I want and get the sounds I want.
This tune was 'Mastered' as well so it is up to Red Book code.
Very danceable, Nice beat. Need to bring up the levels of the guitar tho. A good retro sounding song. powerful break re-entry. Well done there. A few too mnay themes here... seems like it lacks direction. If it were me (and its not) I would break this track into about two or three songs to maintain a direction. But theres nothing wrong with an evolving track. Its called 'progressive'. Good job overall.

I noticed you changed your name. Not that the other one sucked, but I like the new one better. I guess that was the objective tho right? Anyhoo... Creepy song! Creepy! Meh likes. Always willing to collab, so if ya want another touch to this one, do tell. I have a few ultra freaky sounds to tarnish this song with.

Actually... Daze Machine was always the name of the music. MY name is Fourth Hostage. At least when I was a two piece, the two or three times I have been.
I know its difficult to record live on a budget, but if you have the ability to reduce your input level, it might make for a better recording. Good song, but the levels need some work.
