Very nice. That beginning of the last portion reminds me of "summer breeze" Isley Bros. How much of the production work do you do if you don't mind? Analog or digital? Nice work.
Hi Format. Thank you!
This was composed on guitar. I had those chords and just recorded them with electric and acoustic guitar to a simple beat, which I changed later on. Then I added the bass, live played of course. Then all keyboards/synths live. I prefer samples from real instruments! That melody after the verse is a combination of french horn and traverse flute). Oh yes, and then of course the vocals. So the only thing that was not played live are the drums, but they also took a lot of tricky handicraft.
Thanks for your interest,
keep well,

keep groovin,
bye bye,
Michael
Nice analog sound, love the vocal effects. Often second guess my work as well. Always have to go back to the initial feeling and intent and realize that's what others will usually experience when the hear it. Nice work.
I have so many files in a "I like this but it's not good enough folder". Typically a break for a month or two gives the creative brain enough time to recoup.
This it s a trip Citizen. I don't have a critique because I don't know what you where aiming for. Reminds me of the background music for a slow motion drama scene in a movie. The contrast of the soft vocal and the hard trap beat create a suspense that in and of itself has artistic value.
Hey, Format. Thank you for your comment! I don't know what I was aiming for either, frankly. It starts with getting drawn into a vocal. I was purposefully looking for female acapellas, and when I heard this one, it was so personal and endearing that I had to download it and found that I could. From there it's, ok, what trap tracks do I have on hand? Let's listen to some more - try this, try that. Mess around, fun, joy, time passes, done. That's basically what I had in mind. I like your comment about the slow motion music - great insight. thank you!
Sounds good, has a lot of elements to it. Think I hear a future bass sounding portion. Future bass is lowkey my favorite genre even though I haven't rapped over a future bass beat yet. Anyway, nice work
A friend of mine said I should add more SFX to further detail the track.
I'm very glad to hear that you classify this as a future bass track! I really am trying to make it sound future bass rather than electronic, pop, or synth pop.
