You have to remember that trance tends to follow chord progretion, then you can normally get a melody or riff to follow that. Cos in this track there are a lot of notes that dont sit right. But you will only get better with time.
Its not a bad little track and i think you could really build on what you have already done so, far cos at the moment it does seem to be missing something. You sould maybe work on your percussion more to make the track more alive? But i would try to limit the loops a bit. Loops are really good to layer but you can't change the pattern.
Also fx's never hurt and sidechaining your bass and/or melody to your kick will always give it that extra pumping feeling.
Anyway keep up the good work.
You've a nice fat base line and you should defiantly work around that, i stick a few high notes in it though and also sidechain it to your kick. Has potenial and will keep a eye out for an update.
Liking the track, very crisp and clear on the production side. This track also takes me back to the late 90's before sidechaining became standard in ever dance track.
loving the bassline nice and dirty.
A little tip tho. Why not use some sidechain compression from your bass to your kick. Just make sure your attack release and thresh hold are quite low. It's a technequie a lot of electro tracks use to give it that more pumping feeling.
if i had to pick out off the 2 i would pick the second. i cant master for crap, i leave that to someone else. but if you really wont it to sound better i would turn all your levels down compress some off your sounds and go through you eqs and reajust them and remember not every synth needs to be eq'ed. It can just as long making your track to sound right than it does to wrighting it. Also liking the track, it's got a bit off an old skool sound to it.
I'm not to sure what to make of this? it's how can i put it diffrent. Get yourself on youtube or some other site to learn the basics off music/producing. You will pick thing up and in a few years you'll be a able to make a desent track.
nice bass and kick, this could really be a great track, i would just rethink your main melody, it does nothing for the track. try some chord progretions that fit with your bass, then build a melody over that.
Everytime i come onto this site you seem to have a new tune, i hope you have a good chair with a nice soft pillow to sit on!:)
Good mix on the track, but have to say i prefer your normal style. And me being selfish hope you will stick to it cos i really do like your style of trance.
ha ha hey dave! i seem to have hit a writers block :( lol but this was to keep myself busy in this horrid time of not being able to produce my trance. lol i spend about 10 or so hours a day in production in my little studio so yes i have a great shiatsu massage chair everything but good heat lol. its been hella cold outside and that in turn had made me sick for days last week. be that as it may trance is me and i have not left it. thanks for listening to this and thank you for your review my friend
This is a brill track m8, flows really well and had some nice chord prog. You know what your obviously doing and it shows. as for tips and hints, move away form reason, i used r4 for ages and thought it was the best daw out there, then i started using ableton and i've got to say it's so much more logical then r4 and your also quite limited to what you can do on r4. it doesnt support anything other than reason and to me thats a big no no as there is so many good plug-ins out there.
Yeah really like the vocals on this. Thats the great thing about dance you can have a quirky voice and still sound great. Beats all thoughs bloody x factor cocks who thinks they can sing dance and blow there own trumpet, then flood the charts with piles of turd.
Gotta say your very brave singing on one of your own tracks, think i would ruin mine if i ever did it. Still nice work m8.
lol hey thanks for the nice words my friend. trust me i still think i ruined the track by singing on it but how would she ever know that this is what i wanted this song to mean to myself as much to her and god. i dont ever sing ha ha now you know why :) i could never be one of them stuck up "pricks" that think they can do anything and everything better than anyone or everyone else. thank you so much again.
get yourself a midi keyboard and controller, it make things a lot easier. Nice first track though and hope you stick with it you'll only get better and better.
