    Hi there Billsals,
Just getting around to listen to some tracks here and ran across your newest song. A very nice one this is. I like the vocals in particular. I need to start putting vocals into my songs somehow. I basically use ProTools 7.4 with an MBox Pro-2 Unit and have most all of Digidesigns software.
I have been using it only since Nov. 07, so I am still learning.

You did very well on the instruments and the recording itself. I could hear everything clearly. It takes time to do a nice recording. Most of mine take a month or so to do...and then a couple days of tweaking the sounds and effects. I have a lot of good ideas, but keep jumping around and trying different things all the time.
Being objective... often is hard when creating music as you say, as new ideas sometimes are tossed aside for the more 'familiar sounds'. Anyways....good job on this one.

Commented on Why I Am So Fat by meestege

    Hi Meestege,
Well, I liked the song here too. It kinda fits me as I am too fat myself. As you get older, it seems to come on easier and hard to get rid of. I liked the Harmonica part in the song in particular. I can't seem to find any loop disk with Harmonica on them.
I suppose a person could make some money selling one if they made one up and offered it from one of the bigger companies. You'd need about 600-800+ different short .wav files with different parts of riffs, fast and slow endings, and in different keys and tempo's...etc. Takes a lot of time and work!
Anyways, the above is off the subject...but just a thought since I don't hear the instrument anywhere else. Good job on the song.

    Thanks Randall,
To us it's so normal my cousin plays that bluesharp. I realize that you want this on your recordings too. I never looked for that kind of loops. But if you have a recorded song that's in the standard tuning (A=440) then my cousin will play it for you, I'm sure.

    Hello again!
I am listening to all your 3 songs here and and just wanted to say, this song was very good. I like your cousins singing voice as he did a nice job thoroughout it. The guitar playing you did was very good as well.
I don't recall hearing any Peter Green's music as there was a time period I wasn't playing any music with my present job. My shift work job took all of my ability to play in a band away, so I actually stopped playing music for about 22 years. Mostly then I listened to country type songs and some pop/rock.

If you like this one listen to Fleetwood Mac (1968-1970) Peter Green formed the first line-up. I'm sure you know Black Magic Woman, but there is a lot slow blues too. And he played with John Mayall before that. Made one LP with him (A Hard Road) he also recorded with several black bluesplayers (my favourite is Eddie Boyd LP 7936 South Rhodes).

Commented on Hard Core Moke by Mokeone

    Hi Moke,
Just played your Rave style song and read your profile. I just turned 64 yrs. so I got you beat by about 8 years! :). But age is just an number. I also work at a power plant doing swing shift.
Anyways as to your song, I haven't heard Rave like this before so I found it interesting. I have a loop disk of Rave stuff that is a lot different sounding with a lot of drop tunnings on it. Either C' or D'. Anyways, I liked your song and will check out more of your tunes on here. I find that in my case, many times starting a new song never turns out the way you planned it and thus make it fresh and different than anyone elses or anything you'd hear on the radio.

I am more into rock/country/bluegrass and just purchased a new Dobro. So give a listen to a couple of my tunes if you get a chance as well. In about a week or so, I'll be uploading another Blues type song with Dobro sounds in it. (Not that many songs on here have it in them).
    Keep up the good work.

Whatever genre I label my stuff, it's all just Moke Music. I like to shake up and blend different styles & sounds. I think of myself more as an artist, whose chosen medium is sound. The computer is my palate & canvas. My mouse, the brush. I'm glad you liked it. Moke

    Hi there,
Well, since you gave me a review meant for someone else, I decided to go ahead and listen to your song. I liked it actually as it had a good live sound to it. The guitar and Harmonica were good. The singing, I have heard worse...and I don't sing at all. So thanks for sharing your song with us, and if you have time, give a listen to my Blues song called 'Blues 101'.
It is a 2 part song with acoustic/slide and the second is a Fender strat/slide with a 'crunchy sound' at a little faster tempo. No Singing in it. I did much of it with Pro-Tools software, and sample/loop disk as far as the Drums. (I played guitar and Bass)

    Hi Paul,
Just listened to your song here and I do like the guitar work. I like country and rock mostly, but I do listen to other types. I am 'at work' now and am playing it on tiny 3" computer speakers, so I'll have to play the tune on better speakers when I get home so I can hear everything better.

I love a good solid Bass and Drum sound, even tho I can't play real drums myself. The advantage of using software is tuning everything the way you want it to sound.

Good job, and look forward to hearing more of your talent.

thanks for the review. I know exactly what you mean I played it on my computer at work after loading it and the drums and bass are gone ??? My system at home is pretty good and after listening to the MP3 upload it was nothing like the mix i did. I'll need to master it after perfecting the final mix, thanks

    Hi Planet,
Just got around to playing another one of your cool songs. I love the sound of the clean guitars. In fact I own 4 Fender Telecaster guitars myself, including a Fender Thinline. They all have their little particular tone too. (pickups, string gauges)
Nice song here and hope to hear more of your uploads!

    Hello profita,
Just listened to your song here. Sounded decent to me. I like the piano in the background. Seems like if the bass and drums could come out front more, the song would sound better. But then, maybe electronic music don't use much drums?

Hi Randy, thanks for dropping by and casting those trained ears on my first slide attempt. I'm working on a few more songs which feature the slide in open tuning, it's such a great sound. I'm practising as much as time will allow and have been bought a book by a friend, this covers all about the great blues players and thier techniques. I'm hoping to get these finished off soon and maybe we can share notes. Cheers Slap...

Thanks for replying back. I also start out making songs by experimenting with different sounds I run across. Sometimes it is a Bass line, or a Piano or Guitar sound. I use loop CD's to give me ideas as well. Usually takes me a month or so to do one song as I try to get all the levels right, (EQ, Reverb, Compressors), and any other effect I might want to throw in that fits the tune.

Then I try and Master it at the end as well so it'll sound good on most any speaker system. I try to do songs that are interesting and fun, and sound good...at least to me. :-)
The first song I did on here was a country song and it took me 3 months as I was learning the software at the same time. (Pro-Tools)
Good luck with your work as well. Practice makes perfect they say.....

    Hello there.
Well, I liked the song you made. I haven't gotten into doing anything like that yet. I have lots of software, but just haven't had time to go thru it all. I am into making regular type tunes you hear on the radio.
Usually playing around with new software or a piece of equipment, a person comes across all sorts of ideas. Is this how you come up with stuff?

There is 2 ways Ive found to make music 1 make a bassline and add to it or choice #2 create your melody and add the bassline to it.I use 2 a bassline is easy ideas? well let me say sometimes what you start with isnt always what you end up with Im only a weekend artist made 3 tracks this weekend might get another If I can help just ask I stared to put up a track bassless just to see what people can do with it but Im far from what some of these people can do only done this for 3 months...Thanks for the review and good luck...Rockingchair

    Hi Fiery,
Being new here, I am just bouncing around here listening to different artist, and happened across your song. I like your voice a lot. The guitar playing was decent as well, and unless you do it a lot, it is hard to play and sing at the same time. I don't sing at all!

I think if you could put some bass and a little bit of drums behind it, it would sound really much fuller and accent your voice.
Would you mind if I tried that? I never heard the original.

    Hello USSR,
I couldn't help but to listen to your song to review it. My wife is from Moscow so I get to listen to a lot of Russian type music. I don't understand the words, but in your song, no need to....just enjoy the nice simple, uncluttered sound. Good for a first time too. My first one was a Country music tune.

Hey planetjazzbass. Another good interesting song here. Strictly going by the title mind you, I closed my eyes and pretended I was walking ithrough a small country village.
I vision the people peeking out from the curtins as I walked by and could hear babies crying in the background, etc.
Of course, the thunder and other sound effects fit right in, with my thought anyways. :-).
Overall, a nice listening and relaxing tune.

    Hello Junfrey,
Just getting around tonight to listen to varied artist on here. I liked your song a lot. I found it interesting because of the speed, and the change from mono to stereo and back. Gives a nice effect.
Since I am just getting into making music on the computer, I really appreciate the time and effort all make, in making a good sounding tune.

I am still slow at it, but am getting the hang of Pro Tools....and a new feature called 'Elastic Audio'. (basically stretching a note(s) out as long as you want without losing its pitch).
Anyways, looking froward to hearing more of your work.
