I would bring that lead synth up a good bit in the mix. Think it needs to stand out a lot more..and it does need some more stuff thrown in there too I feel. I dont know what your plan for this track is though, so I'll just say keep adding stuff. The mix however is really great. Nice and crisp!!!
I made this with the hopes of finding someone near me to put a rap over it, so I kept the synth low on purpose, kind of as background to some lyrics. Thanks for the listen!
Not bad production on this....sounds like the kick is pushed to the limit...I assume its coz you had problems makin it cut through...Think you need to use filters on your cymbals and eq your bass and kickdrum together before you do anythin else, that way they will cut through the mix better! Good tune too!!
This is a good track, but from 2:46, it rocks!! I reckon you should start it from there and build it from that point, then expand on it. Dont get me wrong, before that point its really good! But I am of the opinion that you should take the best and make it better! Trance nowadays is such a high competition music genre, and I think you should take the best of your work and expand on it..Hope you take that as a compliment! You got loads of talent man, just use the BEST of what you create even if its all GOOD...! Know what I mean?
Yes I know exactly what you mean and it's all true i apreciate your thoughts too cus you rock too ;) but i don't like to touch the original so maybe some other project with same/similar sounds
Glad you liked it and took your time for reviewing this thx
P.S. I upload the remastered/fixed edition of chicago clockworks now would be delighted if you took your time to check it
This is an great track!!! And the piano loop is great by the way! Really fits with the song...Love that synth sound too..really big and clubby!!!!
Too short though man, was really enjoyin that and now its finished....Get a break in there and some big melodies coz this tune could be AWSOME!!!! Its really really good now, but it could be , as i said,.....Awsome!!!!!!!!!! Well done man!!! Just build on what u have so far!!
Thank U djsalkizar! Glad you liked it!! Too bad i only have the demo, so i could save it, well well.
Its really great that it was better than i thought, that you liked it i mean! See you soon !
Great tune!!!! Very distinctive too....love the synth...didn't at first tho..thought it a bit cheesy but it grew on me by the end!!! Good production on here too!!!
I like it!! Good work, and catchy too! Like the strings in there. Think about a shorter intro though...I almost turned it off waiting for something new to come in then it did..!! Keep the listener hangin on...coz theres some really cool stuff comes in!!
Thanks for the review. It was the goa loop that caught my attention. I really liked the sound so i tried to work around that. maybe i will make my intro's a bit shorter next time. I appreciate your comments. Thanks again. I will check out some of your tracks. Thanks again. Respect.
Beautiful!! Thats all I have to say about this track....love the heavy part too, really goes with the rest of the track, gosebumps all over my bod!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To be honest this type of dance aint really my thing, BUT i know a good dance track when I hear it, and THIS is a good dance track!!!
Great little melodies all the way through and your use of filters is pretty good too!! Do you know how to use automation clips in fl?? Just wonderin..coz when I figured it out EVERYTHIN changed!!
I love when people mix stuff like this with music!!! Nice track...just watch your levels their a wee bit loud! Check my "tranquility" track!! Think you light like it coz It has Neil armstrong / nasa mission control and Richard Nixon mixed in with it!!!
So I guess this was created in FS Studio going by the title!! LOL!!
NICE production on it man!! Think it needs more melody though. A bit repetitive for me...Try to get a nice lead on it with a break somewhere too..will make all the difference.
This is classic trance dude!! Get this one to anjuna beats!!! The production on it is perfect! And the flowing synths just get my hairs on my neck fizzin!!! Nice1
Where did you get that vocal? Its awsome!! Like the music too..just think it could be doing with a heavier bassline to drive it along! But well done for your first house track. Think with a bassline and maybe a funky loop it'll be bangin!!!
Think you've nailed the music and story combo here! Loved it especially at around 1:20! That riff is cooking. You should have kep that going a bit longer though....Awsome!! Actually think you have a few good potential techno numbers in this one just busting to get out! Its a mad combo...but a good one!
Well it had me twitching my legs, bopping my head etc so its got a good feel. As far as the mastering and mixing goes i think you should concentrate on equalization mainly from what i can tell here. The levels seem fine. But the frequencies are fighting one another. Low freq for kick bass etc.High for cymbal and stuff. Use filters on your cymbals. And watch your mid range on your synths. Eq bass n kick together. then bass kick cymbals, then bass kick cymbals percs and synth..get the idea. I dont know if thats the way pros do it, but it works for me!! Hope that helps..
This isn't really my cup of tea normally, but I like the beat the way it just bops along all the way through!!! Like i said too, it is catchy!! Still goin round in my head, and i dont think i'll forget it in a hurry!! Well done to both you guys!!!!
cheers for the review. as u know trance is my fav genre but i really enjoyed doing something a little different. maybe our next track could be hip hop. haha only joking
Love it!! The percs sound awsome...what a sound!! Real live feeling to the whole track...!! LOve the way you bring an instrument in at a time...just keeps rising!! Brilliant!!
I love slide!!! It is the best sound in the world!! And to think some old boy in the deep south just happened to slide a beer bottle along a guitar string one day! And hey presto!! AWSOME!!!
Hello djsalkizar,
Thanks for listening and reviewing my Blues song.
'Slide' is fairly easy actually. You can tune your guitar to an open tuning like "E" or "G" which is the same as a normal Dobro and 5 string Banjo tuning, and when you strum across, you have a full chord without actually having to 'fret' the instrument.
Sounds cool. It is easier if you have 2 guitars tho....one tuned to normal and an extra one to fool around with. You can use slide in a normal "E" tuning, but you get a different sound.
Randy
I dont listen to enough blues these days!! But when I do it has to be really good!! And this is REALLY GOOD!! I love the tone of all your guitar sounds!! Gave me gooseys!! Top notch Randy!!!
Hey there Djsalkizar,
Thanks so much for taking the time to review a couple of my tunes. I appreciate it very much and will check yours out as well after I write this. As for the guitar tones, yeah...I really like to hear what I am playing so I mix the session so that the lead, whatever it is, always stands out on top.
After I stopped playing in my own band way back when, I owned a complete sound system and used to mix for bands by sitting out in the audience, and that way, I am hearing what they are hearing.....and I'd adjust the sound accordingly.
The biggest complaint I always heard from people when they listened to any band was....they could never hear the vocals. Well....I fixed that!
There is a lot of good talent here on Looperman and the diversity is amazing.
Thanks again,
Randy
