Thx glad you liked, thanks for checking out my work!!!

the opening has a dark, ritualistic feel which certainly goes with the season. I know this 'pella by Soleilxlune. this is a great incorporation. well done.

nice track bro :)

I love how the beat moves it along, creating tension of whats to come. :p I really like ER's and Soliel's tracks! They do fit into a larger story. You tied them together seamlessly here! Last year I started the Looperman Zombie Apocalypse, a tale of survival as told by the surviving Loopers. My outbreak song was inspired by ER's soundscape as well, and I used Soliel's vocals on it :D I was trying to get to ER to rescue him, he became zombie food though. That narrative helps bring more realism to the tale showing the different countries effected by the pandemic. Excellent!! For the Halloween track comp, the more the scarier err merrier! 3:D>

Thx im glad you liked :) thats crazy that you also used the same 2 artists a year ago, must be something about the 2 influences from each artist that work so well it grabs the interest from other artists like us, it was epicrecord that suggested i should pop it into the comp so i thought "why not" :)
BradoSanz
I like how you used the soundscape and blended Soleil's voice together! It definitely makes the scene all the more ominous. Your music also accompanies it well and I don't mind the fat soundwave either haha. If you're submitting this for the contest, you have a good chance of taking 1st prize :) Great work!

Very exciting track! I love the glitchy & dubstep style that you used with the synths & the vocals chops.

I LOVE that intro. The hi hat hits and that odd little synth going on in my right ear is so intriguing! The juicy bass drum kicks in and its ONNNN. Yes, I love this. Fav'd for sure. HAHA You used the wicked line from Incredibles? :D It sounds like it. That's hilarious if so. This is a really chill track. Simple yet lovely. I suppose if there is one thing I'd change it'd just be to make the snare a little more crispy. But that's personal preference :3

Great track here, love the chords

kennydjctxmckenzie replied 8th Oct 2015 - 10 years ago
Thank you, some of the chord work is my own/some of it is the original stems and some layering is actually looperman samples ive chopped and resampled up to bring a new sound from them, many thx again for coming over to check this out!

This sounds "GOOOOOODDDDDLLLLYYYY WWWWWIIIIICCCCKKKKEEEDD" ! lol loved that vocal shot :) Track is nice , very casual. The depth of that kick is nice man love the sub frequencies coming off it! Love the break starting at 2:50 sounds like a skipping record (in a good way )really works... Very nice track!
kennydjctxmckenzie
kennydjctxmckenzie replied 8th Oct 2015 - 10 years ago
ah thx!!! yeh the skipping effects are a playful idea using a delay and reverb to filter it out and roll the secondary part of the break that is also on a delay pattern coming back up which ends up giving that skipping and jumping "but in time" sound, thx again my friend!!!

Hey, Kenny. Hello from Ottawa. Have visited Edinburgh many times. Daughter lives in Sterling.

Nice work on this track! Definitely not chill in my opinion. Great beat! Quite inventive. Pulled me right through to the end. :)

:) thx Eric, ah so you have family over my way :) yeh wasnt sure where i was going with it but thought "ach" why not and tried different ideas from various genres Eg looked at the trumpet idea from funky house type works/took my beat idea from sort of breaks/crunk/breakbeat and constructed in an experimental style :) Glad so many have been here to have a play of it and very happy you guys have passed by to say what you thought :) thx again!

I really like this. I'm not good at labeling genres, but *I* think it's pretty chill. =) I love how it's interesting and dynamic but relaxed at the same time. I agree with mudhoen--it has a nice swing to it.

Thx mate, glad you liked, much more fun and experimental side to my producing, i do many genres as pretty much open format but love to just try and do somethings out the box as they say, that for stopping by to check out the track, uploading one a day until i fill my 50 as i have plenty ranging from scores right up to all out mayhem types of work like dubstep and others lol, thx again!

Nice experimentation you've done here...very unconventional
but surely creative and artistic! Not really a chillout but then again I don't care much about categorization of the music! Good work!

Thx Orlando51 yeh was trying to unwind away from the normal, im sick of todays modern ethic of music and its all sounding the same in the EDM (comm department) just now so people need to start trying new things again so throwing in my 2 cents i guess, yeh im the same i dont really care for labels but the public need them or they wont hook to the idea you have so its needed but think this will change to a electronic tag and that way it just covers the whole design haha, thx so much for checking out my work and glad you liked it...

agreed with mudhoen...this is a very cool, creative (on my humble opinion) weird track...the drum is too harsh for chill out and all of the musical turns are fitting into another genre...but I was just saying...overall it's brilliant...

Handshake, Danke

kennydjctxmckenzie replied 23rd Sep 2015 - 10 years ago
Thx Danke!!! i actually use a fair bit of your sample work in almost every piece i do! i love your fx work and some of your synth work (the sound and construct you have used) so i like to resample the samples and have loads of fun with your samples along with third parties and natives within FL, thx for checking it out and im pretty damn sure this has actually got sample work of yours in it ;) will give it a quick check and let you know, im sure its this of the out the box dnb madness i got up on here that has some of your synth work chopped and re designed in sound slighty to change it up of course as i try not to use samples i use as original so i try to keep the influence but under take an overhaul on them so to speak..

PS ive no idea what genre i would mean land this in lol, its a basic idea of using breaks with house elements and experimental sound design so looperman dont really have a genre for that so picked chill out because of the chilled vibe on the trumpet but i think ill change it up and just go electronic as i have a feeling everyone who comments is going to say the same thing about that haha, thx again for checking out the track Danke!!!

Well...chill out is not quite the right genre but its a damn nice track whatever genre it is. Very smooth and creative blend of soft and hard tones. Nice production. Has a nice swing to it!

kennydjctxmckenzie replied 22nd Sep 2015 - 10 years ago
LOL yes i agree but had no idea where i should place this as i cannot find a tag for experimental so picked the biggest focus which is the chilled out progression of the track although im the worst for pushing a heavy percussion set up so yeh not chill out but chilled in a sense, thx for liking this track also, im going to add some of my other alias work from the underground side of techno and some heavier ideas ive had EG ill be putting a track up technically no one can really deal with in the sound design as its designed with sounds like seagulls lol, got the idea after seeing this pic on fb about a seagull eating a sparrow would you believe... the track is work focused on the high and lows giving this crazy heavy deep end and wild highs which do need work but will be adding it up for a laugh at some point, many thx again for coming to check my work Mudhoen!

Thank you Dan, lol yeh the vocals are in place til i get it back but the guy is rather busy so ive told him im looking for other vocalists also for other versions so if you know any budding vocalist here who can flow on out the box stuff like this that would be amazing, many thx again for passing by Dan, thx from Kenny..

Very good track you made here. Very jumpy dnb with a lot of variation in it. The transition is pretty smooth and it stays interesting until the end. The pitch control is smooth and not overdone. Good work!

Many thx Mudhoen! was going out the box on this one, its a combo of chopped up/resampled looperman samples from our fellow members and a variety of plugins natives and third parties then rolled through ozone 5 for final polish, thx for listening and commenting...
