at first i thought "it sounds dirty" then i was like "ooohhhh that's the vibe!" There's so much pressure and anxiety in this. You defiantly captured a mood! i love this!
ha ha so funny! while you was posting a comment on my track i was in the same listening to yours!!!
about your track: i can't talk about the lyrics, i dind't understang all the meaning (sorry i'm french :)) but, i like your voice. The fact that it holds the same octave on all the length, rather in mediums (and besides that it's sung and not spoken) is very interesting, that's contributes to render an atmosphere "chill out" in your track (nice filters too near the last part of the song.
about the instrumental part, The chain of long notes played with the bass guitar create a kind of base everything in curvature and calming! nothing to say about the beat which is delicious!
It's very soothing and very pleasant to listen; it's a pity that I can' catch the sense of the message you deliver us in the lyrics.
Maybe it is good you can't decode the emotions because you might be very sad after haha. Thank you for the review, I always appreciate someone breaking down my music. I'll check your sounds out, too! Cam
On my second listen now. I hit the wrong key and did the delete...
I hear where you are coming from here... Your lyrics actually speak to me, even though that is not an easy thing these days.
My references for "broken" are limited to Nine Inch nails and Pantera, which are obviously not the influences for this song.
It's lyrically interesting. Depression means different things to different people, and one does not know what to expect... Did you speak of back pain? Maybe my wife should hear this shiz?
It's been a long time since I've heard this sort of chill out/hip hop/rap combination on Looperman. You should be proud of that. I would be proud to hear this on the iPod, and that is not common these days.
Thank you so much I really wanted a song for people to relate to. When everything seems to be going right in your life but nothing FEELS right. Music is the best therapy, and actually making music helps keep your mind off negative thoughts! -Cam
Marked this as a fave since its another solid creation, though a bit more commercial (nothing wrong with that). Your hook is catchy, and I could definitely hear this on a music streaming site. There are several producers on Looperman I could see you working well with, but you may need to be more specific about the genres you are willing to do. Are you willing to do EDM, for example, something along the lines of a "Slide like this" Calvin Harris/Frank Ocean collab? Or how about something jazz influenced?
Also, since this is business, its never too soon to start protecting your intellectual rights.
If you haven't already, I'd suggest copyrighting your work before putting it up on the internet. This is something I advise to all, even those who do instrumentals. In the US, you can complete a copyright compiling several songs for less than $60. It can also be done online.
My best to you.
Thank you for the detailed feedback, I always appreciate that. This song is special to me because it is the first I had ever made with scratch including my own vocals. This song is actually on all major streaming sites and I paid to have it copyright-protected. In regards to genre, I'm young and still learning a lot about my own voice, so I'm open to anything, whether that is EDM, rap, or even something with conventional instruments like rock or funk.
Well, damn, this is not what I expected! You have been working hard behind these Looperman scenes, haven't you? It's very well crafted and performed!
I see the "soundcloud rapper" comparison to be another self destructive impulse. I've never heard some rap/hip hop like this on soundcloud before leaving the site for good. It's not even my favorite genre at all, yet some of my favorite songs and albums are from unsigned or indie rappers... you've stepped it up around here with a song like this.
Keep on doing your thing, and I will be here listening. Thank you for sharing this! Fave and DL!
Thank you so much for the great feedback, I've been admiring and downloading your loops for years! Sometimes I just make a beat and build it up with whatever sounds right to me, and it's all for my own enjoyment. I thoroughly delight in adding my own artistic (and I'm sure a little more advanced) elements into a basic genre.
Nice work Cam. Nice shout outs to fashion, maybe they will throw you some love back with free Calvin Klein, or VS! I like the concept of ""Some type of Way"" though, that is lyrical genius!
keep on keeping on!
