Cheers Danke. Really glad it sounded good to you. It got pretty big and really wanted all the element's to be heard. The rock guitar still seems a bit hidden so I may try a flanger on it? Thanks for feedback
Hi Patricia, that is the best compliment one can get when a track reaches out to others with the same emotion that drove the creation of the music. I have found music very comforting especially when you can express your feelings directly through composition. Very much appreciated
Steve
im begining to understand with what you meant with live mixdown
i had listen to some of your impresive tracks here , very dynamic feels like you're telling a story with your tracks
wise synths selection and very well leveled especially this track. there is one thing that ticked me ( in a good way ) ...the bassline that start at 1:33
what did you do with it? it sounds so round and full ( i hope you understand what i meant ) it is the exact bass sound that linger in my head. did you layer it with another sound or add compresor/limiter to it? or is there any particular effect that you use for it?
i hope you don't mind that i carry on our conversation here :)
Hi Aya, sorry for not getting back sooner. Typically I don't save the project under the track name I finally end up calling it! Took me a while to find it!. The bass line you refer to is from a Roland Jupiter 8V vst which is an older analogue style keyboard. Its pretty rich to start with but I just used an Eq to filter out anything lower than 20khz and slightly boosted it around the 130hz and little more at 280hz mark just to give a bit of punch. On the Master track I use Izotope 5 for the overall mastering mix using a widening and exciter setting. I hope that helps?

Steve
Steve,
Beautiful track. I share our loss with you. Lost my mom when she was 49 to cancer. The track made me reflect on that. This song is emotionally safe.
Mark.
Hi Mark. 49 is so young. I lost my Dad to cancer when he was 61 and I felt so robbed so I can only imagine your experience. Also I have learned that loosing your Mum is so much different to your Dad. Something connective in life. I think music is the greatest language when it comes to such deep moments in life and its universal.
Thanks for your kind comments.
Very moving and, yes, a mix of emotions and feelings are conveyed in this track. Someplace, can't remember where, I read that music is the one artistic medium where you can directly experience the emotional state of mind that the creator had at the time when the composition was made. I'm not sure if that is something exclusive to music, but I think this track is a really good example of how true that is. I enjoyed it very much and related to it.
Hi Eric. I think music is a universal language when it comes to moments in life, happy and sad and yes, very connective between the composer and listener.
Thanks for your kind comments.
Steve
Ah man...I saw the description, i can only empathize. But i can relate in the subject of loss. Lost a few friends and family alike, just lost a cousin (in a sense) the other day from drug over dosage. Oh man...ehem..emotional, i wish you nothing but the best man. Times like this is when you need to be strong and persevere for the sake of your loved ones. RIP to your mother, and I hope the heartaches and pains of the soul will wash away peacefully and gracefully my friend. Superb production. peace
Hi, Thanks for your kind and empathic comments. Its very rewarding when you reach out with music and it touches others in the same way. Much appreciated
Steve
This is an AMAZING job. My condolences for your loss.
The musician in me would love for you to check out my song "Jonestown Massacre" on my profile because I would like to collaborate even though we might be slightly different genres I love the flow of this instrumental.
The song I have on my page I wrote/performed/produced using all loops from this site! If you like what you hear, let me know. Again, just beautiful!
I knew as soon as it started that it was going to be emotional, you really set the tone at the start, the sound of the whales, the chords the pad progression, you can tell this isn't artificial and that it really means something to you, I got shivers near the end. Great quality mix down,
awesome job and you have my sinserest condolence
Hi, thank you for your kind comments and respect. It really means a lot that the music reaches out in the way I felt in making it. Much appreciated
Steve
worlds of words choice opinions easily breeze into time for sake of misery where lies borders between truth and lies to make for guess would be somewhere in the middle of you and eye mind nurture far reaches the lanes of thought then sought is the tomorrow seek for end of tears and fears fought life bears so much as does the eyes of we free is the heart of time though existence makes it hard for common sense to breathe into exile while why is the question of loss answer saddens most when it is the human life as the cost aches comes in many forms some by others and also self shall the tryst between man and evil go on till there's not one of us left mark these notions as deep fish for understanding vs condescending that when to say the forever goodbeye doesn't have to be a post of memory lane's ending... this is such a deep and beautiful piece of sound art indeed ....may much peace be at your beckon
As my mum is of an age when she might leave us in the near future. I can really feel this tunes ethos. But I don't hear all sadness. I hear a lot of joy as well. good memories, joyous memories that will stay with you the rest of your life. Music is such a healer and release of emotions, I am so glad you can express that in musical form.
Best wishes
Steve
Hi Steve, yes you have reflected exactly how I felt putting this together. Such situations are a mix of sadness, relief and the joy that suffering has ended. This piece basically depicts my bedside vigil through my Mums final days.
Thanks for your nice comments.
Beautiful is the word that comes to mind. Everything gels together really well. The pads and the piano compliment each other really well and the effects are great as well.
You really know how to express feeling with music Mr Brown and this is a prime example of that.
I really enjoyed this piece.

there are some moments in our life, when all the words are speechless and incapable to express depth of a feeling or comprehension and when the words fail music talks ...

Hi Behnam, Thank you for your sincere remarks and it's comforting enough to know there are people who can share moments like this through music and appreciate it equally.
Thanks again
Steve
One of the biggest loss, but we have to carry on...we remember with our tools...you made this stunning song and it shows for me it was a beautiful life line between you and your Mum...
Jazzy chill out with your new and special drum tone...am I right? in the latest songs you used this donno 'vintage' felt groovies...I like it...
Absolutely professional song..
Respect, Danke
Hi Dank, I have been using drum loops that are samples off old songs I think so they are definitely vintage. They are also mostly "live" drumming so they sound nicely humanized in a mix. Thanks for the nice feedback, much appreciated.
Steve
Good track, a little egotistical from a mans point of view, done by a women...
But what the hay... Over all dynamics felt real tight, harmonic flavour true to
form...
I like the womans vocals and i like the way it switches to more of a house sound. Very chilled with excellent synth work.
This track is doing wonders for my hangover. Your arrangement and mixdown are both great. What did you make this with? I wanna get one!!
FR
Hi FR. Thanks for the nice comments. The main plug in that helps with the mixdown is a mastering software called Izotope 5 which has great mastering one click settings. The DAW is FL Studio and some of the synths are Rob Papens Predator and Rhythm Guitar, and Purity.
Kind regards
Steve
Hi Scott. Thanks for the feedback. I think the vocals are outlining the traditional suppression of women in less sophisticated civilizations and their struggle to find independence....I think!
It's you back to your recognisable uptempo chillout stuff.
Spoken word works quite well but it seems really loud and a bit harsh and piercing. Could maybe do with having some top/middle removed. The sibilance is quite harsh, especially when she pronounces an 's'.
1:47 some classic house there with that funky bassline and then a warm pad.
3:29 stop there's a big 'pop' type of edit that could probably be removed.
But that break is welcome there and then we get welcome return to beat.
Fadeout ending is pretty decent (I generally find most people get them very wrong) but should have held on for a few seconds more.
Overall, it's pretty dreamy, uptempo chillout stuff with lots of sounds I recognise from other tracks by you. Though not the vocal, of course.
Hi SN. Without a live mixing situation I find blending vocals so they stay in front of the mix a challenge throughout a whole track. Also Eq'ing for all types of listening situations i.e. Headphones (cans and buds) speakers(big and small) beyond my skills and equipment. I do agree now you mention it the "s" is prominent and needs suppressing. Its good getting this feedback because when one works alone one gets too involved in the mix as a whole and possibly not critical enough with individual elements. Kind regards
Steve
i am a father but thanks god my son is with me, anyway the track is really touchy and deep! when the track ended i was sitting and staring at the monitor for a minute without any eye blink...
about composition everything is said by StaticNomad so i don't want to repeat. the only thing i want to notice is ending (2.50) i think it is suitable to some electronic banging track with powerfull bass and blasty beats, so for me it was really unexpected, but on the other hand i like almost everything that is unusual, so it is kinda interesting :)

Great 'verse' with that dangerous bass than the melodical 'chorus' is exploding like a bomb...
Crystal clear mix, stunning number...
Superb!!!
