I myself played the beat over a 100 times when I had just made it. i cab agree with you that it's listenable although the initial idea was to make it a backing track for hip hop/r&b. At the end of the day... it's jus music. If one feels the vibe that's all that matters.

Its a common experience, my friend. Producers know the grindstaying up until 2am tweaking subtle details that most people wont even notice, or spending an entire night on a mix only for it to end up sounding worse than before. There are times I finish a song and realize its not going to work, so I scrap it and start fresh with a clear mind. Interestingly, that approach has often paid off for me. Making music is an absolute joy, though it does come with its fair share of frustration.
