Thanks, man. Im glad you dig the sound and the vibe overall. It was just the nature of the kick, and I didnt want to overpress it. I lowered the bass several times during production since the octave was a bit high. Ive been hearing a lot of producers talk about checking the bass through speakerphones, so I figured Id give it a shot too. After all, a beat is always an idea that can be tweaked to fit the complete song. I appreciate your feedback and constructive input, man. Much respect!

Hey Glenn. Indeed, the old school sound was what I was gunning for. That's why I had to distort some sounds to mimic a sampled retro sound and go with the old boombap drums. I'm glad you felt it the way I intended. Means a lot coming from a living legend like yourself.
