I am really digging this track it reminds me times inmy life that i have fallen short. I love the simplicity of it and the hard in your face aspect of it. But yeah the bass synth is too strong. But I guess it is a raw audio so i shouldnt complain,
Some of the sounds remind me a little of Valvedriver's stuff, though without the drums.
Quite a dark and menacing vibe you have here.
0:32 I don't like that bassy synth. It's too loud, raw (ie basic synth sound) and buzzy and doesn't seem to fit. And it fades out abruptly/awkwardly at various points. Sounds more at home in a dubstep track. Other synths around it have much more beauty and vibe to them.
I'd completely change that synth sound though the notes and timing are probably fine.
2:40 it's good when the bass joins that lead melody and then the ethereal pad fades in. And then that problem synth is back, dominating everything else.
SO, I'd change one big, main problem and then I think you'd have a really effective, atmospheric, mysterious piece that would be suitable for all sorts of sound design work.
I probably wouldn't listen to it as a standalone piece but some people certainly would. I prefer to have drums and more movement and melody and stuff.
Thanks man, I appreciate the feedback.
The bass you're talking about was actually the lead from the original song (since this one has the drums removed and is reversed) and I didn't change any of the synths settings.
But I see your point and I would agree that it might be a bit loud and dominant.
Nice song . I haven't used any of those programs yet. I have been using ableton live for about 2 weeks now its pretty good program. Nice clean track thx for the upload.
I used MMM before FL for 4-5 months, and It's pretty good DAW, best for beginners in my opinion. But let's talk about song :) This is very good, has nice sounds, with cool melodies. Not hard and usual dubstep, but I still like it. It has some special atmosphere, it's really nice!
I like this style! Very chill. I feel for how long it is that you should add even more layers of instruments in some parts, to add some adrenaline for the listener, because it's easy for a person to lose attention in a 5 minute song without more change ups in the pattern. This is a great layout, but it feels like a start to something bigger! The whole time it felt like it was building up to some epic drums or something.
Your description about you is funny :)
Your work sounds good, but remember me on other productions!
Do you use samples for effects? I work also with MMM, but for Dance i use (much more) Ableton Live. Do you already think about to buy ableton live?
Revolta 2.0 rocks, is a very good instrument!!!
What is this for a sub-genre?

I think maybe it would fit better in the Ambient genre, though.
Take care.
V.
Ambient? probably, its not really under any genre, but I do agree.
Thanks and have fun ;)

Magix Music Maker is an easy to use program. Works with any VST (synths) you might want to download.
