This is so smooth. Great musicianship and you captured a such a chilled mood in sound. Agree about sharpening the edge on the guitar, without losing the warmth mebbe, but the mix really shines in all areas.
How smooth is this?? Very relaxing and chilled, I have to say that the production sounds fine to me, even on my in- ear phones! Excellent work here my friend!
Thanmkyou for the listen and comment. That comment hepls to remove my suspitions that my expensive head phones were lieing to me. Glad you liked it. PEACE. THE MACK MAN OUT. Will stop by soon.
Great song, cool melody and arrangement. I agree about the panning ! maybe drop the 200hz a bit in the eq to gain more snap on the drums and stereo widen. Nice soft pad at 2:46 btw.
Steve
Thanks for the listen and the comments.I agree on the 200hz about 2db or so and mabe a boost at 10k and 15k to brighten things up. Didn't use my SPETRALIVE-NXT on this one, slight mistake. Thanks again.
I really like this. the guitar work is so accurate and smooth, and the orchestration and mix is great. I would have given the Guitar just a touch more edge, and moved the piano and guitar apart a little in position, say piano left, guitar right just to give some separation. Anyway that's all subjective.
Great work
Thankyou for the listen and the comments. Normaly I do pan my keys left at about 40% and my AX at about45%. I got hyped about my new upgraded system and went center crazy. LOL. Will stop by soon. Thanks again. PEACE. THE MACK MAN OUT.
Boy I'm glad I stopped by today to find this Jewel! Just a great composition and Pleasure to listen to - Outstanding production on all fronts! Classic! Fila
Thankyou for stopin by. Have not forgot you ,just haven't been as active, do to a system redo. will be stoping by. thanks again for the listen. PEACE. THE MACK MAN OUT.
Hey, no problem. Not really that extensive a comment for me. I almost always write pretty long and detailed reviews of peopkle's stuff on here. It's an interesting challenge to try to express in words how you feel about a piece of music and see if you can find a way to suggest how they can improve on things. Sometimes I do and sometimes people tell me they have taken my specific advice. Thnaks for the brief gear list.
I'm also a Cubase user though Reason is what I love, have been running it alongside Cubase for 13 years.
No real improvement suggestions for you on this one because I didn't really have anything! Definitely some tasty jazz guitar (I also play all guitar in my many tracks). I also incorporate some jazz into the many merged genres that I do (they're almost all far out, groove-driven epic trips) but it's much more jazz drums than jazz guitar.
I'm more of a funk, blues, rock, slide, psychedelic eastern guitarist than a jazz one. But slow-mid tempo jazz grooves I love. Though I also like fast swing jazz and trainbeat grooves, which can also slot nicely into drum 'n' bass. Or metal!
Perhaps you might get on with my track An Early Morning Appointment With God as it has some definite jazz funk in it.
I shall try to remember to check more of your stuff so good to find you.
You painted that whole driving to work in the morning picture really well here Mack Man....that is some tasty guitar playing..nice fat laid-back kind of sound that would go well long after the work day is done too...feels like a sprinkling of R&B in the instrument mix too....oh..I just hit that little guitar run at 4:01 (followed by several others) ...right on...You can play on my radio any time man...great track...much enjoyed...fav......Ed
Thank you ED, for the kind reply. I can strongly apreciate comments that come from musicians that understand the power of melody, tone quality, and arrangement. Thanks again. PEACE THE MACK MAN OUT.
Very happy vibe, i can perfectly see myself driving to my work with this one tuned in. Very instrumentalistic aswell. Nicely done my friend. Peace n Love Audiotism
MACK MAN!!! What a nice surprise to find this one this morning!!! As usual, absolutely flawless. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, your guitar work is just about as good as it gets....move over George Benson, there's a new sheriff in town.
Outstanding effort, and happily downloaded (thank you for that).
I hope the holidays were happy and here is to 2014 being a great year for you and your loved ones. I hope you are well.
Thankyou Bear for the professional assesment of this track.I'm always glad to be reviewd by multi gifted musicians like yourself.Hopefuly I will one day get the opportunity to be deputised by MR.Benson. Thanks again Bear. PEACE. THE MACK MAN OUT. Have a GREAT NEW YEAR.
No so much my kind of thing but it does sound good. I like the groove. Bit of a 2-step, r'n'b vibe.
Pity you didn't say anything about how this was made in the track description. Such as who's playing the guitar, which is some clean, smooth, funky and tasteful jazz/r'n'b guitar.
Someone could definitely enjoy rapping to this. Or doing some smooth crooning. Maybe some ass-shakin to that beat.
I like this the more I get into the track. Definitely very good mix of the instruments. Feels like I can hear everything very clearly.
I tend not to like a fade-out but this one was pretty good. Most people make that fade far too brief but this was much, much longer so quite effective at giving off the vibe that this track is just being played forever as some sort of fun jam session.
Thankyou ST. for your extensive comments.I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment evan though this is not your genre of choice. I play all guitar tracks on my songs, using Cubase SX for all recording, mixing and mastering. For keys I use Hypersonic-2 or Cakewalk TTS-1 or Lounge Lizzard-4. Main Vst processing done with Nomad/Waves-V7/Spectralive-NXT/ OXFORD/ Ozone-5.I go light on compression and limiting, using them wrong can destroy a mix. Thanks again. Peace. THE MACK MAN OUT. Stop by soon.
