In West Africa, Shango (the deity of thunder & lightening) carries a double headed ax. Devotees of this deity seek personal self control. Though this one's inspired by Greek mythology, I can't hear it without thinking of the modern parallels.
You've really created a soundscape that "feels" like an approaching thunderstorm here. The use of reversed sounds gives the impression of building static, and the breaks you use in the percussion really drive home the sense of tension.
Excellent work! I look forward to following your evolution with this medium, and certainly hope you draw from more mythology for further inspiration. Cheers!
Man, thanks for reviewing my track - I hadn't noticed you before, and after hearing this one, I'm delighted to know you're here!
I love that you've gone to mythology for inspiration here. I really love how you've found the archetypal similarities between Thor and Hephaestus (not too many of us know about this one!) and interpreted this with a kind of fusion approach. The bass line, and steady rhythm really push forward the imagery you've drawn from. Very inspired and makes for a compelling listen as well.
What I really love is how you've brought this into a contemporary representation. The instrument/sound choices are all very modern, and yet convey the idea of your inspiration spot on.
Added to favorites. I'll be listening to this one again and again!
Thanks for the comment. I just appreciate music. There are a few mythology minded people out there and I am glad that I met another one. This track really speaks to me. Thanks again bruh,
awesomely amazing. a new favorite. everything about this is awesome. this has a great piano and im surprised there arent more favs this is talent right here people!
this is a great trac. and greek/ norse mythology is a great inspiration man.i was a history buff especially when it came to greek mythology and egyptology. if you havent heard of him already, go to youtube and type in " blue sky black death : the holocaust." a video will pop up with a classic photo of a greek god on the frame, click that...its a video from a guy named holocaust/warcloud. the video is called, "the holocaust" as well and is something i think you will enjoy greatly. if you check it out let me know what you think. respect. ROME.
p.s. this isnt a plug for something of mine, its just something i think you will enjoy, as someone with similar interests.
Thanks for the youtube link. I liked it a lot. Anything history, especially mythology, I take a keen interest to. Its something about history that gets me so interested in trying to absorb all that I CAN. Thanks for the comment as well.
Yeah! Rei has hit the nail on the head...super interesting perspectives brought forward through your playing..the 'thud' factor is alive and well..and in this case it's very articulate and very focused....I think the inherent imagery behind what your doing is a great asset to the music..I love vision..and your serving it up big time..great work! cheers planet :)
Man....I can hear some alchemy going on here..this has amazing sonic trajectories..very amorphous, but with real control and a visual direction..to use a euphemism from today's contemporary culture..the peddle work is 'sick'! lol...this music has sounds between the sounds...gotta be a certain amount of Zen in there as well...very cool Obruno!..cheers planet :)
great atmosphere my friend!!
there are some jazzy melodies in there which I really love (on the piano for example!) and the harmonies are very very good ...
that's fantastic work, it needs some time to grow into ones mind, but it pays off to listen closely to this track!!
great work ...
I try to focus on music and what melodies I can create outside of my normal range. I think that one thing that constantly plagues a musician is how to challenge ourselves every time. Thanks for the comment, and I will check out your material soon.
After listening to your other track, I had to listen to this track. I'm hearing some crackling, you may have some clipping going on here. Once again you have produced something very original, with a couple nice twists in the transitions and the introduction of unexpected and interesting sounds.
Other than the hissing or clipping during some bits (which, I don't think is because of my headphones), I think this track rocks.
zero2zero may be correct, acid jazz would fit, but then so does cinematic. You best demonstrate this yourself by way of your description. I can imagine that corporate no good trying to corrupt some young artist. Loving the jazzy feel.
Your description really helped set the tone for the listening experience. You have some nice sounds working together here. Nice job putting this together!
nice mellow melodie bro. really enjoyed while listening to this one bro. keep up da good work nothing to complain about. i just dont know what to say...just speechless ! keep it up bro
Thanks for the comment. It's really difficult to place my music into a genre unless I am working specifically with a genre specific artist. Thanks again
I like that track!!!
has more ambient character to me, strange sounds, very atmospheric ... with your description in mind I really can relate to the situation you wanted to tell ...
that's awesome work!!
love the kicks a lot, sound like slight thunder rolls ...
great!!
Hi and welcome!
I really enjoyed your track and i don't think you should care about the genre,as you nicely say "Music is just music" and I can hear many influences on yours which is a really good thing to me.I also love the emotion comin' out from it and the build up is just brilliant!
I fav it and looking forward to hear more from you
Cheers

What's up French kid. Thanks for the comment. I try not to focus on a genre because I would rather an artist build the character of it's on through the song. I will post more soon & they will be all types of genres. Look out for them.
Can't help you on getting the right genre for this one. It has a lot of influences, which is really nice! Plus I'm not a "genre expert", and like you said, music is music.
The only thing I would say is that the bass kick seems really (too?) loud. Besides that the instruments you're using are really cool and the whole is well produced.
Keep up the good work, and welcome to the loop!!
