Beautiful work here, in every aspect. You have masterfully delivered your song Rita. Your sound is excellent, I was wondering what kind of equipment you use for your recordings, for example do you use a mic preamp or no? Excellent use of the audio effects too. The tune is very vivid and uplifting and the lyrics are so contemporary and..singable. My compliments on this.
Best regards, Anthony
Thank you for the lovely compliment.
You won't believe it, lol, but I always record my voice with my recorder on my phone.
The only downside is that it has a bit of an echo, but sometimes it's handy because my voice is quite soft.
Another downside is that sometimes you can't hear my "d" and "t" or you can hear them very loudly.
I also always have to record in the living room. In a smaller room, it sounds very muffled.
For most songs, I leave my voice raw.
Sometimes I use a plugin to make my voice a bit louder or to add a bit more treble to my low voice.
I've tried a few microphones through my DAW, but I can't get any sound out of them, or they're very noisy.
For this song, I was especially lucky that I felt comfortable and had a good sense of the beat.
Greetings rita
Rita, although i have many good friends here, you are one of my oldest, you commented on my very first track years ago along with Zoot Maj Puesdoable and others, we were always about we had consistency, yeah you have little breaks, i'm back off mine but we remained good friends all this time, we encourage each other and are both truthful to each other regards our work, for me it's great to know your there, obviously another listen, ooh ooh uh ooh ooh and the crack foley is sic, timed to perfection. by the way i DO smoke about 10 a day now but i smoke weed to relax, de-stress only after work with a coffee, yes, i drink buckets of the stuff, but i got to have a cup of tea when i first wake.
i'm 60 in February, yet i feel 35 and damb right i wanna dance and sing my head off for a few years yet, i'm having fun and 'going crazy', see what i done there, if i do go on the track, i'm might pull you in to drop 8 bars :) i've had it months but just not done anything with it
You surprised me the first time i heard you, remember the nick-name i gave you Boom Boom lol, now you just impress me
It's nice that we've seen each other grow through all the ups and downs. By the way, I'll be 61 in January, and in my head I feel like I'm 35, but I'm finding it hard to accept that I've suddenly had health issues for the past two years.
Everyone keeps telling me I should be happy I'm still alive after colon cancer, and of course I am.
But I can't accept this "me ." Okay, enough about that.
Bring on your beat and vocals, Paul...I'll give you my 8 bars.
Nice to hear that i do impress you.Thanx Paul.
now that is so freeking strange, i know the track, its called 'going crazy' one of Riddick's beats, i was gonna do a rap on it at some stage i think i've downloaded it too, so it appealed to me immediately, you have altered it too :) well its mastered different, put your own style on it, well done i liked the comedic lyrics, mine would be a dimestop special, its a banging track, is it any wonder we clicked, eh Rita,
we probably have other things in common too, we're both old buggers for sure lol, great work and more proof to me you got good taste Mrs :))
Hi Paul. Firts thanx for your compliment.
It's quite a coincidence that we have the same beat.
I'm curious to see what you've made of it.
You can create so many different things with one beat.
What else do we have in common?
Uhh
I drink gallons of coffee, but I think you drink tea.
I smoke and you don't.
But we're both older, we love music, we were late learners and started making beats late, and we had the balls to sing.
At night, I often work on music, and I think you do too.
We don't want to be pigeonholed or pigeonholed.
We still want to dance and be crazy.
Do you know anything else?
Hi Rita,
You say you made this as a joke, but it's done so well! Not only is it done well, but it's also catchy. I like the way you incorporated more depth in the vocal melody. It's almost bouncy. It works well!
Keep them coming, Rita!
Take care.
Aaron
You always get me to click on the lyrics section, and of course, I end up running into the dots. :) It's a beautiful tune- Ilistened to it over the phone, and it came through so clean. Great work, Rita!
Hi Richard .
When i read your comment i didd smile so long because more then 1 year i was waiting when some one will make a comment about the dots lol. i will write the lyrics this evening.
Thanx for your compliment
Love that guitar - reminds me of the guitar work in Back to Black, by Amy Winehouse - it s good to hear you do something lighter and the tune is catchy Please put lyrics in - my knees they crack - yeh, I think lots of us would get that one!
Thanx Kay. yeah i hate it !!!!
I wanna dance and run and do crazy but my body dont want
I have also neuropathie in my feets and thats why i sing...my feet feels dead
Loving the darker, smoother edge in your vocals here, theyve come such a long way, and your writing keeps leveling up. The emotion is unmistakable because its straight from you, not borrowed. Totally agree with Manu as well: youre a key part of this community, and we need more women like you to balance things out. Fantastic track, Mrs!
Thank you Razmabila.
I wish i could sing more like this but i cant find no beats anymore for my darker voice. I think im the biggest user on youtube surching for blues type beats lol. I need to
feel them to sing like this. I can make beats but not blues .
now you are sounding dark and sultry Mrs, your voice continues on its upwards journey, there is confidence in it, and your song writing is improving five fold, you put emotion and feeling into your words and i think it carries more weight because their your own and not something you have copied, i also agree with Manu, you are an essential community player as is she, its too male dominated, not enough females to balance the scales of testosterone another great listen, well done Mrs
Hi RIta.
I like this one quite a bit. It has a very Leonard Cohen feel to it. It's what I imagine Marianne Faithful doing a cover of one of his tunes would sound like, and it sounds good. keep them coming!
Take care, Rita.
Aaron
Hi Aaron. Thank you for your compliment.
I didd try to sing Tower of song on Marianne Faithfulls version. It diddnt work for me but maby i need to try it on Leonards version. But LM dont accept covers so i need to change it in my own style or change the lyrics.
So now you give me new inspiration.
You have a very distinct singing style. I like it, it's different and there's a lack of things that are different these days. This song would sound great in a David Lynch film. Very refreshing.
Thank you so much.
I needed to see on youtube who is David Lynch. I never see this kind of strange short movies before but i understand why you think my song would fit in it. Thank you so much.
You have a distinctive singing style - you don't sound like anyone else I have heard and that makes you special - your voice on here blends beautifully with the tune
Hi Rita, well done, very nice result, and I agree with Anthony. Am I right that half your musical life consists of finding beats you want to sing to, and the other half of singing and mixing?
Hi Frans.
Thanx for your compliment and you are right.
Thats almost my life now. Between that and that i do some cleaning and cooking lol. When i cant sleep its also music. But in september i will go 8 days to spain without my music. Then me and my daughter will enjoy with coctails near the see.
Dankjewel Baobou.
Het hangt bij mij echt van de beat af hoe mijn stem klinkt.
Een echte zangeres zal dat beter onder controle hebben.
Maarja..ik ben allang blij dat er een geluid uit mijn keel komt lol.
Hello Rita. I really really enjoyed this. Perfect 50s doo wop style, that has that longing feeling. And please don't take this the wrong way, but I could also imagine hearing this as the credits roll to a Stephen King movie. I would most definitely love to hear more like this from you.
Hi Mindway. Im glad that you like it and that you want to hear more like this.
Thank you so much.
I had to laugh at your comment about Stephen King.
I can't really picture this song being like that, but I do like the slightly darker tracks.
I think this one fits more with Stephen King dont you think?

Je hebt gelijk.Ik geniet er zeker wel van.
Al maak ik af en toe nog wel een beat maar zingen gaat nu echt voor.
