Hi Oasis..we've all been in that situation at one time or another, thankfully we both seemed to have survived in one piece.... very cool bass line,it makes the track....this tune is way too structural to be classed as weird I think, more in the fusion area maybe..I would have liked it a bit longer..but we're all forced to work under the constraints of the file size limit I guess..I wondered why this track hadn't received a review up until now and picked it accordingly..I wasn't disappointed..It's smooth and cool..cheers planet
cheers, Planet. ive actually been switching up the genre from time to time, just to see if i could get some feedback on it...and cause i really have no idea where it belongs.
there is a longer version of the track, but i didnt think it would be well received enough to warrant putting it up [since its such a goofy piece]. Im so glad you liked it!
Really dig your markers to indicate reviews of the track in a diff state.
Member only tracks. Here's your jacket.
pssshhh....
TOTALLY just kidding. It's just kind of funny with member only tracks. Cuz sometimes I like to breeze through without being seen having heard the track. So like I see your track out there in the yard. But I know you're watching.
So i read the description. And I think OMG this girl is me, we are the same. Go!!!
So I just run out into the yard in my producer suit (all my clothes minus pants) and start spinning in the sprinklers holding your track up like a baby in the air. Smiling at it, spinning, forever spinning. My suit is getting wet.
Mmmm.... seems we all lucked out this time.
:D
I think I should have a go at this and maybe if it works out well then that will be the reason why you couldn't let it go. Fate.
I LIKE THIS FUSION STYLE BEAT YOU MADE ...IF YOU A FEW KICKS TO IT AND 3 CLAPS IT WILL TURN INTO A NICE HIP HOP BEAT......BE PROUD OF YOURSELF ......ITS GOOD
I like this track very much, especially when the guitar slams in providing emphasis and focus.
Three times I've listened to your tracks and three times I've enjoyed the experience. You have a good ear, trust it. If it sounds good to you, it probably is.
You have another very pretty piece here. Vocals would definitely add something, especially for those who cringe at instrumentals, but the truth is that piece stands alone very well as it is.
lol i love the incredulous-ness with which you said that.
seriously, tho...thats one of the best reviews i couldve gotten, since shadow is the sole reason i started making music.
cheers for the review!
This is really sweet...but I understand why you might think it's boring (a bit harsh, but most artists are their own worst critics). It's a sparse track, but not quite minimal which creates a kind of tension.
I love how it invokes a kind of melancholy happy vibe. Reminiscent of bitter-sweet memories.
I think your dissatisfaction could be easily rectified through several approaches. Obviously getting some vocals down is one way, but I think it's also possible in some other ways. If you 'dubbified' it a bit, I think it might be to your satisfaction. For example, pushing a bit more of the minimal approach by isolating single instruments right at the end of a cycle and then adding reverb and/or delay.
That suggested, I'd still like to emphasize how sweet the song is in this version. Outstanding work oasisduke!
I love the instrument isolation with effects suggestion. that might just do the trick.
thank you so much for the thoughtful review. it means more to me i could ever verbally express. my goal here is to become a better artists, and its helpful criticism like this that allows me to fulfill that goal.
cheers!
very sweet opening gating weaving back and away sounds. this is just right in it's amounts of newness, conflict and emotion whilst not being overly dramatic. very very nice cocktail indeed. and it all backs away ... and that bass ..... mmmm..... that is so nice. it's like it's working it's way into my temples slowly with these headphones.
we really should collab sometime. i feel like you are so solid and like i fk things up just the right way that we'd have a solid piece that blinds em by the end.
lovely tune o girl. never a disappointment!!
:)
this just if anything needs to be fkd up somehow. just like ... rub some dirt on it, throw it at the ceiling fan for 8 seconds, but then catch it without missing.
Just .... you know. I am probably to cerebral about these things.
Your track is the jam. You should submit it to production libraries. you are too smooth to not be crossing the streams with other mediums.
thats EXACTLY what it needs...it needs some dust on it. i jsut dont know how to fk it up!
i would LOVE to collab with you. youre one of my secret sources of inspirado and musical mojo on here. i think we would come up with something luxurious! send me an email sometime and we'll chat it up in more detail :)
cheers for the listen and review. much appreciated.
Haha, great description. Yes this is darker than most laid back Caribbean music, but I could almost see a daring and serious couple taking this to the dace floor. I like how you pair up the bass with the steel drums. Speaking of which, Love those steel drums and the shakers are ill. Nice work oasisduke!
sank eww!! im so glad you enjoyed the steel drums. they were a bi*ch to work with at times, but im really proud of the way they came out.
cheers for the review!
HELLO ...I LIKE THE BEAT ,,,ISLAND STORM...BUT I MUST SAY THIS IN REGGAETON THE DEMBOW SOUND IS...WHAT MAKES IT REGGAETON ....NORMALLY .......IN REGGAETON WE USE 3 SNARES 4 KICKS AND 6 CLAP AND A BACK GROUND EFFECT...IF YOU SEND AN EMAIL MAYBE I CAN SEND YOU SOME SAMPLES ...BUT YOUR TRACK IS GOOD ....ADAMELCANO68@AOL.COM.
cheers for the review. again, i am new to the reggaeton/reggae/dub genres...if you feel it belongs in another genre list, please let me know.
i appreciate you listening.
What's really cool about this (imho)is how you've taken inspiration from the location, and then interpreted it into something that's really your own.
This is solidly grounded in Caribbean influences, yet it's no longer Caribbean music. I'm a percussion fiend, and I'm really digging what you've done here. Certainly motivates me to listen to more of your work. That says much.
what a great review. thank you. i am touched that you brought up the percuss on this, cause it is what i am most proud of on this piece. so glad you liked what you heard!

Another sweet track. Like I said before, you have the ear. You have talent. All works are works in progress for a true artist.
Well done
