this is not nearly as "out there" as i had expected upon reading your description. either that, or im much more "out there" than i ever expected. i could do without the vox sample, but thats not to say it doesnt work in its own quirky way. i totally see this piece in a tech thriller...this is the score for the montage of the young bad assess working with a bunch of high tech equipment; theyre hacking, theyre splicing, theyre typing lengthy, ridiculously complicated code...its a great scene, thanks to your track. loved the transitions. loved the synth work. i really loved it all.
great work!
I read your description (lol) first and I knew I just had to give it a bit of a listen (actually, all of it).........yes, a bit odd, but interesting, but that is what I like. I'm impressed that you have 16 synth applied - impressive.
You sir have STELLAR taste. ;)
...and actually, I am almost postive it is over 20. I will have to count exactly.
Thank you for listening. I will return the favor.
It just shifts gears, lol!! I thought it was pretty good, very creative. The female vocals in the second half were great. Different is good, it sets you apart!
Thank you Wayne!
...and me shift gears. Nah! ...lol.
(I usually switch it up alot, but I think I made like 16 different synths alone in this one..lol)
Hope everything is going well for you!
I will be in touch directly.
(Pee Ess-The samples are PERFECT, I can not wait till you hear it all together when I finish the instrumental)
LOVE this track. adn what an apt description. grew up in binghamton, so i spend any chance i could get in the city...youve certainly captured that concrete jungle feel. great dums and accents thru out.
kudos!
Thank you. I am so honored for each and every comment and to anyone who takes the time to listen to my tracks.
This is one of my personal favorites because of the memories I have attached. And as crazy as this may sound to you,
I made this track for you.
(not YOU inparticular, but I think you know what I mean)
;)
I had just watched these specials about the "Sunstorms of 2012" and I started thinking. (Do NOT watch it. It is truly one of the scariest things I have watched in a looooong time) It was a very cold and quiet night, and I just imagined the sounds of turmoil as we are thrown back 100 years.
There is weird in I, I mean, there is an I in weird...lol...I am weird. I really liked the hard synths you have going here as well as the hard drums, very metallic and punchy! The intro vocal was probably the only thing I disliked, but thats a preferential opinion. It was a bit unclear. I like how the track morphs into a few different ideas, kinda break beat for some time, then rock-ish, then kinda acidic...quite diverse.
There are some I have come to admire on this site, and you are one. I am just honored you listened...lol.
~C
Pee Ess- I hate the intro also. I wanted to set the scene (because in my head I see videos of all different people celebrating like they are going to die on 2012) and looking back i should have voxed it. But meh. I really dont even like the track...there is something that I just cant get to "mesh", so I got to the point of saying "through with it". I will come back eventually.
Cool tune Chad, kinda dark, industrial, techno, funk rock thing you got here. The snare really pops. The different sounds made it interesting all the way through.
It's such an odd feeling to connect with someone's music like it feels like something you would have done / could have done.
What I see as being able to improve with it is that it is very long, a very varied. Which is exactly what I like to do. However at a couple points, it was #1 - certain parts are still good, but not as quintessentially so as other, so you need to make sure you carry that rock star axe (guitar, synth, not specific) and wave it around in those rooms, do something that paints dirty synth trails in the air like those ipod commercials.
Led Zeppelin's Dazed and Confused live on acid. That sort of thing.
Thank you Ken. I always smile before I read your comments. :)
I understand what you are saying, but in all honesty, the things I upload to the net are basically my "audio scratch pads". I have about seven songs, and hundreds of these. (come on... you dont really share your good stuff do you? this place gets "ripped off" more than mini marts)
I like to see what people comment on. What sounds they like. After repeated listenings...what I like etc. etc.
Then I take the best of the best and you will hear direct influence (ahem, copy) of my "good parts".
Believe it or not, I do not "switch it up" this much in my (what I like to call) "real tracks".
(they are in that folder you are so dying to get into ;)
I do not like to make them that long either.
Synths (as I think you can tell) are something I am just learning. Teach me some of your secrets.
:)
You got some bizarre grooves bundled in here man. I like em. That little reggae type sample especially gets me moving. Lot's of changed too which keeps things fresh and keeps me interested. Had to DL this one. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the kind words. As far as I go, the more bizarre the better, as long as it makes you bob your head a bit.
...and you are more than welcome.
you have your own style thats for sure, but it was very well produced and it has its own sickness too. loving the piano its really awesome! i like your style dude keep em coming. this jam is smooth and bumping!
Brother man - seriously. We have the same blood. I like this and again am very impressed and connected with your tunes. Here is how I have come to handle the whole objectivity creative fatigue fresh ears thing. I work on something, saving several incremental versions. And as soon as I feel the slightest twinge of it not being really totally cool and exciting anymore, I move on to something else. Because right AT THAT MOMENT, when I come back to it later, it is often AWESOME and had I not dropped and saved it and put it down right then, I would have mucked it up in my headplace of inobjectivity. I hope that makes sense. for this one suggestion - You just need to put more D#&$ in the groove. Really cool stuff C. We exude the same grooves, you just need to let yours out a bit more - more variation - makes this a solid classic of the future bro. Cheers - kc
You know I take everything you say to heart, but I must say one thing, much of the reporepotitiionionnononnnnn in my songs is intentional. Much of hip hop was founded in beat patterns just replayed and replayed. I try and emulate that as much as possible. Everything else though, it is amazing how two can have so much in common.
This is pretty cool and unique! I guess it's weird, but you should give yourself more credit! I really like the percussion work on this one! Those sub bass drops are sweet! Very nice arrangement and fills on this track, my interest is held. Great work!
Thank you very much. :)
This track actually angers me a bit because I spent a couple of hours on it, and it just wasnt working to me. So I exported it, and did not save it. Well, like MANY MANY other of my tracks that I have grown to like, when I listened to this the next day I am like "Damn, I love that opening groove, the way it sounds" And I do not have it saved...lol. So I can either sample my own song or open Poizone again and pray I can recreate it...lol.
Meh.
I live and I learn.
Thanks again!
chill i like the relaxed tempo and its very different like i said on your other tracks. good job though i really think you have talent. just keep mixing those sounds. smoke on that burning bush!!!! screw obama and george bush though. can you do me a favor and review the track i have called fretless because me and koas (my friend) made it and we freestyled on it. he mainly talks about girls and i talk about the illuminati. it would be seriously appreciated. by the way i really like this track and the scratch on it is tight
hey i like this style its pretty chill. and the beat is different than most i hear your talent though. keep the sounds bumping and your own city jumping to the thumping, and of yourself make something. you know what im saying. the beat is simply connected with the synths so i dont see anything truly wrong with it. i just see that your synths sometimes overpower the beat. if you change that you will have yourself an amazing techno/breakbeat track. good job though
Hey... I really like this... it still needs some cleaning up and structure if you want it to be like an actual song you can sing to, with verses and hooks and stuff, but I can see how your final track will be hot! I´d love to put my hands on it and throw some vocals on it! It´s really cool, congrats!
dude your hip hop is KILLER. i love your flavor of it, a lot. The only thing that kinda erks me, but maybe it wouldn't attain it's unique characteristic without it the kinda crunchy width of the claps - sounds that are kinda clicky and repeated or delayed without the echoes being softened or blurred or varied in some way tend to sound a bit dry and gnarly to my ears.
But again KILLER track. Congratulations. you won a free imgonnaplayanothertrackofyours nano.
I dont include alot of vocals in my tracks, but that is one of the best hooks I have heard in a while, and your voice fits it to a T.
Peace and Harmony to ya bro. Keep up the good stuff.
wow. this does get really cool. i was going to suggest you look into setting the quanitization in fl to none, so you could make the beat more groovy, but then it got really frkn groovy. cool work man. this is much cooler than those kids and their buckets. this is like those kids grown into 20 somethings on their way to the club on e for the first time. kinda like saturday night fever, but like friday dusk coldsweat. there's soul in here man. keep it up. cheers.
