I agree w/ joe there seems to be a bit of static or maybe the hi-hat seems is a bit distorted.

W/ that being said I love this track, all the sounds instruments, even the vocals were well placed. I really enjoyed this one.

W/ a few tweaks on the over all mix, I'd pay for this track. FT

beautiful work so far on her voice. especially on the "hoo-oo-oo-oo" thing. the guitar sound is perfect. I wonder how you will end it. I suppose these tunes tend to do a fade out although you might do that "hoo-oo-oo" thing as a total a capella at the end. nice work. really enjoy it.

Hey, that was a pretty enjoyable listen! I thought that the balance of bass to high frequencies was very nicely done. The timing seemed nice as well. The reverb and delay things were already mentioned, so I won't bother, especially since reggae and dub and stuff commonly use a lot of those effects. I guess my main problem with the mix is that it's very "static", if you know what I mean. Some automation of different things could add a lot of interest and character to the song. I really like what you did with the pella, and your bass and guitar work was really fun to hear! Fave!

Thank you very much Spivkurl! You are right, i have to put more time in the mix and make it feel more dynamic but its not so easy for me hehe i have a lot to learn about mixing and mastering but im already trying . Thanks for the advice and for the fave!

nice work on interesting acapella. I remember listening to some other song with her vocals the other day and I really liked it. Your version is very nice too - my only suggestion here is that you could fade it out or at least end properly in a conventional way. Overall I enjoyed it. Alex

Man...Crazy guitar sounds, love it...
I hear a few things that would knock it up a notch...
Though they would be so small, just wondering if it's worth it...
Some of those guitars in the back, with echo on them I'd let a few
sneak up in the mix, in the parts that are just music...
Like a fly when it comes close to your ear, if you get my drift...
It would change the dynamics in those parts, add a little flavour Maon... :-)
Overall cool track, nice work....

Peace...TG.

Greetings. Yours is not a name I'm familiar with on this site.

I agree with JoeCramer. I'm also a delay and reverb obsessive but I think the track just has a bit too much. It kind of makes it all a bit noisy. If you can, try removing some reverb from the drums. Or the guitar. Or a bit of both.

Or you could have no reverb on drums but reverb on guitar and vocals and then switch the reverb around for effect and variety at different points. So, reverb on vocals and guitar not on drums, then reverb on drums not guitar or vocals.

You can be quite creative with how you automate things and give the track a different feel in places.

Otherwise, I think it's a good vocal that's a bit unusual for reggae. Probably wasn't recorded with reggae in mind.

Guitar and the drum groove is good too.

Also, I think it could do with more of an intro before the vocal arrives to et the scene. And a proper, more definitive ending might also help.

Good luck and let us know if you update and I'll listen and comment again.

Hi StaticNomad

First of all, you are right, I am not a regular user, I have been for like two years without recording anything for several reasons, besides I really enjoy playing music but I don’t enjoy so much mixing and mastering etc. so I get bored quickly and also I don’t have all the time I would like for making music so I rarely finish a song.

In regards of the reverb, I like reverb in drums because I use the reason’s redrum drum machine and for me it’s the only way for making them feel more like real drums or, at least, real enough for a “non trained ear”, so I am thinking in cleaning the reverb and the delay of the guitar first.

About the vocal style, you are right again, I think the original style is dubstep but since I heard the acapella I wanted to try it with reggae.

I agree with you in that the start and the ending of the song need more work, in fact this is like a sketch, I didn’t want to spend more time in it because I wanted other perspective and some feedback , so I appreciate your advice :). I have already several ideas for the intro and the end of the song, and I want to record the bass again and maybe the guitar too because what you hear, is the first take in both instruments. I hope I can update the song soon.

Thanks for the help!!

Hi Kykex

The song sounds good (to me) but it has a terrible accustic. Not the voice, just the complete rest of the track sounds like playing two times with much to much reverb and echos.
But i realy like the song that is behind all this or maybe more under all.

Maybe you should do a more clear master :)

But hey! dont mind at all, cause who am i to told you any about a clean mix? :) - right! nobody!

Itz a cool groovy reggea and the voice of Angela Fleming fits very well.

stay tuned

Hi Joe

This was the kind of suggestion i was looking for,i have always loved the delay and the reverb effect but perhaps too much hehe, i'll try to clean this a bit.

Thank you!
