A nice song, even if I don't fully understand the lyrics because my English isn't sufficient. Nevertheless, I find my way around the song well. It has a great structure and is very well implemented! Well done! Kind regards, Manuela.
nice track bro, nice to see you about, and spittin bars your Americana style, if i remember you done this style last time too, always like to here rappers bigging themselves up, thats how it should be :))
Hi dude, a little blues is good even if I would have preferred a less rhythmic vocal, but you wanted it like that and it can be listened to on its own! good job john!
Michael
I would say the official genre is americana, but they don't have that option here on looperman... Blues is certainly the genre of the istrumental. After I add the lyrics though I think it becomes more americana.
The instrumental certainly kept me entertained, when I was recording. I could see that the vocals overwhelm the sound a bit... But I thought it turned out decent with the vocals added.
"According to the Americana Music Association, Americana is “contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, roots-rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B and blues, resulting in a distinctive roots-oriented sound that lives in a world apart from the pure forms of the genres"
I don't know why but my first thought is bar and a female dancing sexy so basically a Roadhouse lol I do think in a way that the beat and your vocals are competing with each other to be the loudest. I might have to take a crack at this
Yeah the mix could be better, but i think it turned out kinda nice. I like my vocals loud, I originally had them louder and didnt like the way it sounded. The beat is so fire I didnt want my vocals to take away from it too much.
tight bro, love the R&B hip-hop flavor even found myself throwing a few lines in listening, nice work Johnnie keep em rolling im working on 4 but lifes busy at the minute, time thing
Ok so u just on the spit game.
I got to still try this genre maybe I could get it down I normally don't produce instrumentals or create instrumentals I like to create around the vocals. But I see you like this style let me see if I could need to research this first before I get down on it lol
I had a hook laid down, but I decided to rewrite the hook, and repurpose some of the old hook I had to the last verse. As for the instrumental, I never make those I use producers.
Amazing sax, great song!
Btw what I learned from Manuela: rather than turn up the vocals, it's sometimes better to compress the instruments and sidechain them to the vocals. This creates more space for the vocals.
Merry Christmas my friend!
I always use compression on my vocals. But I do not have much control over the instruments, I get the instrumental in full form I could buy track outs... But I dont have that kind of cash on hand.
This is very classy - classic soulful blues with your own twist- the lyric is great, the vocal performance is spot on and the production sound is excellent.
