Damn, that Rhodes is super nice. I was not expecting the vocals but I am feeling it. The Sax.... you know how I feel about Saxophone. Love everything about this jazz track. Strong one Neuromancer56!
The strings remind me of ELO in some parts, was expecting Jeff Lynn to start singing Evil Woman, ha! Has a cool early 70's r n b feel to it, the cracklin' record sound makes me want to go get my record cleaner and dust the record off.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. This track is so simple that I was embarrassed about it and took it down from featured, and buried it in my list. But you gave me the encouragement to put it back out there.
Hi; i made a track to this :) i hope you enjoy. i uploaded it on here. its a beautifully made track you created! i have been working on it for some time now. https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/201026
If you're talking about the organ chords from 1:40-1:50 they grated on me too, but I tried getting away with being lazy. I fixed them now by softening them a bit. Thanks for the comments, it made the track better.
Hi Neuromancer56, I really like all of the elements of this track. The instruments sounds great. At times I feel like the organ and piano licks at the end are not placed in the right spot. It still sounds cool though. A few tweaks here and there and I say you have yourself a hit!
Hi ronabo, Thanks for the excellent suggestions. I didn't like the piano toward the end either so I got rid of it and put in a little more flute in it's place. That sounds a lot better. I also took the delay effect off of the organ, and replaced it with reverb, so it sounds a little tighter. Let me know what you think.
Love the organ. Puts me in mind of the keyboard runs that the late great Issac Hayes would add on a Stax recording.
If you slow this down with a good boom bap type beat (there's lots of them on here, even from trap producers that have a throw-back feel).
You can have a soul throw-back that incorporates modern elements (like Alicia Keys did with "Fallin'")But you will have to get almost the same beat, as this sort of sounds like something along the same lines.
I really like this, and can't wait to hear your final version.
