Definitely sounds like you have a good start on this track. I agree with DV though, you need some beats going on. Unless maybe this is meant to be an intro to a set, I could see that being cool. Cool use of effects on this one though. Nice work!
I really like the intro on this track, but as the track gets going my interest sort of oozes away. I think it's because the mix is so very wet with effects. Sounds like a cool experiement though.
Really cool compostion on this track, the key and progressions really suit the mood of your description. This, to be honest, reminds me of a song which would end up in a David Lynch movie. I like the subtle drums that you've created to keep the song moving. Really nice work!
Hehe I agree with CalifKen..this needs to come on when 'those' timeout situations occur..we're all in the digital age now so this trippy pseudo cyber montage is way relevant...cool and spacey! cheers planet :)
This track sounds like it could be cool, but that flanger type effect that you have on the entire mix is very repetetive and distracting. I'd like to hear more of the unaltered sound.
Play 2 now...
Cool dedication mate. And ironically what I silently said to my cat when he died a few years ago.
As for the track, I'm thinkin that ya need to work on tightening up the ending just a tad and maybe work on smoothing out the drums to fit in better with the overall mix (some of the snare fills were a bit too pronounced I'm thinkin). Other than that, this is a pretty relaxing track. I could see you taking this a few different ways if ya ever went to remix it. Later on!
Play 2 now...
Heh, that's cool. Sometimes really great things can come from just messin around. In fact, that's how alotta my stuff takes form. Anyways, as for this track, I think it'd be great if this was like a lil interlude mix between tracks on a breakbeat or drum&bass album. Maybe spritzing in some triphop here and there too. Because this definitely lends itself to those kinds of music. Interesting mix mate. Later on!
Really weird style on this one! can't say the intro suggests dance, but it does pick up part way through. I like all the strange effects. Nice melodies. Good work!
OMG "Server Admin Status Revoked". U know it's little things like that that can make somebody feel like a song is about them, and this one is no exception. I want this track to play whenever my server goes down, and I'll know I have 4 trippy ass minutes to get it up or that's it. I'm cut off. :)
thanks for the words, i was shooting for something different and a unique sound, i have another one coming but its on my you tube, i call it "phone call", any who i would love to hear your ideas if you have some time and want to add it to let me know...thanks again for the review.. Roc
I really like the echo/delay thing you have going on on the harmonica bit. It created a very interesting sound, and I got excited to see where it was going.
The rest of the track after that sort of lost me. I couldn't hear anything that really kept it together for me. I would have liked to hear a sort of funky beat, or maybe an acid techno type thump, or something to drive the rhythm. As it sits now, I can't sit down and listen to it without putting some effort into keeping with it. I feel like I could really get into a song that had this as more of a backdrop to some sort of progressive lead.
/all simply my opinion, YMMV [your mileage may vary], feel free to disregard
EDIT: I always feel like honest feedback is the most useful. I try not to pull the punches, but I only review things I really like/would like to hear improved/would potentially benefit from hearing my opinion. Hope I helped :-D
I admire your opinion- no need to disregard..i was shooting for a blues/funky riff... don't get the ymvv??..i wanted something different that would grab with the harmonica then kept you going....any how... thanks for the input.. have to accept the good with the bad right????
Diggin the potential, you must actually try to dance to this tho, u know, to call it dance, well you know i take that back. a prepared dance to this would probably actually be the coolest thing ever seen. Keep on workin on this one man.
Hey mate, is there supposed to be a 13 second silent gap at the beginning of the track. Coz at first I thought the track was messin up and not playin. Just thought I'd throw that out there (coz it might cause people to close out the window before the track starts playin, which'll result in fewer reviews). Okies, I'm gonna let this play through the rest of the way.
Play 2 now...
Okies, since 'Experimental' isn't a current genre choice on here I'm gonna recommend that ya put this in 'Wierd' instead, because this doesn't sound like a conventional Dance track.
Though for yer first mix with the program I'd say that yall were getting a handle on it pretty quickly. The only thing that I think this track is missing is a pronounced drum beat. I can hear what sounds like effected percs, but they seem kinda dull without the "boom boom" of the kick drum, ya know? Interesting stuff otherwise. Later on!
