sickkkkk as ##### man. have you heard Koan Sound? this kinda reminds me of that stuff, brilliant, love this sort of dubstep at the moment. that top bassline sounds like its bein slapped about and the vocals fit in nicely. great work just wish it was abit longer!
cheers mate. yeah this one just kinda came out of the blue, i am proud of it. I dunno about being longer though, i was running out of ideas towards the end.
hey thanks! it is very different. I didnt think it was new agey? but i guess the background is a bit. I did add some general churchy samples in there but they are very faint - is that what your refering to?
Now this is ##### what i listen to dubstep for! The bass is ##### crazy! If I was you I'd make the main cutoff bass a bit louder, but hey...you're the one with the sick tracks and the best i've got is a ##### Katy Perry remix and some abusive scousers! Damn good work man!!!! ##### love it!
hehe thanks mate, and dont be too hard on yourself, i had a listen and your samples are good - you just need to get a collection going and use the right one at the right time, im currently gathering willy wonka samples! i found some good ones, but films like lock stock, ##### and gangster no 1...films like that are all good sources as well :)
And which bass did you mean - the underlying bass or the grindy main one?
Yeh I'm just listening to again, the little voice bit is huuuge. (Y). I'm working on a song wit a lil voice clip i ripped offa youtube so Richard Dawkins - Evolutianary Biologist - saying "Science is interesting, and if you don't like it...you can ##### off" i love geeky little ##### like that :D!
What synth do ya use to make the bass? I'm just trying to get to grips with Massive atm, but it's like aaaargh!!! I'm too new to this #####, hahha!
That sounds like a funny sample. Yeah yeah i collect samples from pretty much everything i watch. I love them!
The bass in that one was Hydra - i'd recommend it, its really nice and has some good settings for starting out - Its 50 pounds though - synapse.com. It was what i started out on.
When I first put this on it made me out loud say, "##### yeah!" Who/what is Poi Ramekins? And how do you make that growling, motorbike type bass? Like in Scareware by Rusko. Good work man! (Y)
Hehe thanks! And i'd never heard Scareware before! its pretty damn good i must say. But then Rusko's stuff always is. And thats more of a chainsawy type sound, im working on that at the moment :P watch out for it in my new songs.
But thanks for the review, to answer your questions - 'Poi Ramekins' is sampled from Frasier and its a small type of fish dish. Its just a bit poncy really but i do love the way his voice sounds, goes well with the song!
This is a very simple and personal track
I can tell you put your own input in this.
I do agree with Frank that You should change
the drums a little bit to add variation,
but in some case or form, I believe that
it makes this track so original.
i love spacey stuff like this! both frank and whyspr give up some good advice. me, i would put it away for a while an give it a fresh set of ears. little things like changing up the arangement to give your cool sounds more space. open it up a bit, add a little break, think about dynamics (like a rollercoasterm up and down) if i were looking for sample for this i'd go for an obscure vocal sample. i love the archives at www.npr.org
good luck,
neil
we are all here to see what other people think of our tracks.. so I'll give you one.. but honesty is the key.. you track is exotic... and that's what makes it sooo fresh and cool.. but you and me have the same problem.. we need to spice up our recent tracks.. if I were you.. I would change the drums order once in a while, cuz you kept the drums at the same pace and the same sound from the beginning till the end.. and I notice that you should push the drums start point just ONE sec. from 00:23 to 00:24 with the arp strats.. otherwise it's a great track.. keep up the good work.. and hey!! no hard feeling okay?! :)
The words were from ##### - its by the Actor Alan Ford - He just has the best voice for an east end london Gangster so i love using samples from him! I've got a collection :)
this is my cup ov tea, your beatz r baning, they sound properly produced,u shud consider putting sum out on vinyl,i rekon u wud smash tha dubstep scene.safe r-d
Well that definitely goes down as being one of my favourite reviews! Thanks alot mate! If i knew how to put them out of vinyl i would do it in a second lol. But thanks so much! I really appreciate the feedback.
I'm gonna go head and reply 2x, cuz this track deserves it. Played it 3x already if that tells you something. ( I have over 10,000 dubstep tunes on my hd btw. ;D )
10,000 really! I dont know how many i've got but its jolly near enough 5 GB worth. I do love the genre. Im glad you like this song. I do love it, its a kind of song i dont generally make, but it turned out rather well i think and for once the production values sound better than the rest of my songs.
Thanks for the review, its really encouraging! Feel free to go ahead and change it if you like, I dont mind sending the drums/synth and sample files if you want them seperate? Im always up for remixes! :)
Big Ups mate! Nice track. Like your use of the violin-ish synth sound in the back. It gives this piece a real interesting line to follow that is both unfinished and diminished. It leaves alot for your mind to fill in. I love it!
