Also I don't hear anything in the beat to tune to, if there is supposed to be synths or something I would turn the drums down to about -12 to -6DB and whatever is in the background up to about the same. Most tracks are leveled between -12 and -6DB. Lowering your 808s to 50Hz and then gradually increasing the frequency by a semitone till it sounds right may also work.
Not sure what you mean by "proper." Maybe try 2 or 4 32nd notes with the 808s right before the snare hits to give it that "da-da-chick" sound. Also try the same thing with eighth note triplets "bum-bum-bum-chick."
Adding a hint of shuffle on the high hat and some 32nd note accents in the high hat also helps. One more thing, take an expected 808 beat out every once in a while, it adds tension.
I hope my little syllables made sense, not everyone knows what a 32nd note it, but trap abuses the hell out of them, and mixing triplets and a hint of swing to create some stagger in the beat (feel) is common.
